Absolutely awful. I got a quote from them and booked a month plus before my move. They strung me along telling me they’d confirm with a driver “soon”, “in a week”, “a week before the move”, “a couple days before” … on and on, until I was finally still waiting the Friday before my Monday move. I called them a million times in the month and they just kept feeding me bullshit until finally I woke up to the inevitability that this was clearly not going to happen. Then I literally had like 4 hours to get this set up. Thankfully I managed to find someone else, but talk about stress.

Best part is, I ended up with a driver who had wanted my business from the beginning. It turns out Nationwide had posted my car… and then ignored drivers who wanted the load, probably because they gave me a bargain-basement quote that they no longer wanted to honor. I nearly ended up force-roadtripping across the country thanks to their absolute incompetence and unprofessionalism.

I usually try not to leave 1-star reviews, but learn from my mistake. Go with someone else.

Lightning Auto Carriers and I had a contract for transporting my car from Verona NJ to Lake Worth, FL at a price of $550.00 on Monday June 28, 2021. On Thursday June 24,2021 they contacted me and let me know that the driver they had was unable to fulfill the contract, but that they would get someone else. I contacted them multiple times to check on the progress. Finally on Monday June 28, 2021 they said that they had someone to transport my car with pick up that day. Only issue was that instead of the contracted $550.00, this was going to cost me $850.00, which we negotiated down to $825.00. They had me over a barrel and I reluctantly agreed because I was leaving town and needed my car and had run out of time. This was bait and switch and was highly unethical.

They then responded saying that I changed location of delivery twice and that it was over an hour away. That was an out and out lie. I never changed location, not even once. The story they gave me on 6/24/21 is that their driver’s truck broke down and that he would not be able to transport my car. I changed nothing. They preyed on a customer who was in a difficult situation. And then resorted to lying and spinning this to try to keep face.

Please do not use this company to move your car! They will scam you out of so much time and money. I was given a quote of $875 and ended up paying $1,450 because a driver was basically holding my car hostage.

I paid the $150 deposit, but the day my car was supposed to be moved, no one showed up, even though we told them that the car needed to be picked up that day as we were moving the following morning. We had to leave the car with a friend to be picked up within the following days. Finally, the car is picked up and brought to a garage. I paid $300 to have it released to the new driver, however, it is still kept there for THREE DAYS. Whenever I tried to communicate with the new driver to figure out when he was planning to pick the car up from the garage, he got angry and yelled, telling me that I was “giving him stress.” A total of 6 days later, he calls me to say that I need to have $1000 in cash or he will not bring me the car. He also tries to get me to meet him in an isolated parking lot at 6 AM to do the drop-off. When I finally get the car back, it smells strongly of urine and some fixtures (such as the radio) no longer work.

The entire time this was happening, the representatives from Unlimited Distance Transportation did nothing to help, even though I spoke with them countless times. At times, they were just completely unresponsive. Totally unprofessional.

I am putting this review on every site I can find. I want to help other people not fall into the same trap I did. There are so many good and reliable companies that will help you move your car. Please do not use this one!

Mark got the job done where everyone else made empty promises. I needed to transport a car from the Philadelphia area to San Francisco and Mark got it done in 6 days at the quoted price. If you want a friend, buy a dog. If you want it done, call Mark.

Brenden was great at coordinating a transport service for our 2 vehicles in a time crunch. We had a very tight pickup window & he made it happen despite our limited flexibility for pickup. The price for both vehicles was more than fair compared to only shipping one car from Southern California to Eastern Nebraska. His prompt responses & consistent communication eased a lot of the stress we were already under. We received our vehicles in about 72hrs in the same condition as they were picked up (open transport).
