UNPROFESSIONAL, UNETHICAL, LYING & DECEPTIVE!!
Don’t waste your money and time with them. Do yourself a favor DON’T use SHIP A CAR DIRECT but use MONTWAY instead!
Booked a transport from CA to FL in December, was told it might take a few days longer to find a driver since it’s holiday season which I was ok with.
Big mistake! I define a few days as 2-5 days, however, a few days to them seems to be 16 days and counting that’s almost 2.5 weeks which were full of lies and deception…e.g. we have drivers going to FL this week, your car gets booked/picked up within the next 2-3 days…NOTHING! Got the VMs/emails to prove it.
Or one of their customer reps told me to not cancel the order with them while simultaneously place an order with another company…very unethical. Or (this is my favorite), we are not making any money on the order…we have added our commission to the driver’s fee…right lol
Their customer service is non-existent…customer rep named John is the worst…called his direct line with my number showing, all I got was a dead phone line! I called his direct line with my number not showing, it went straight to his VM. Or when I called they the general customer line and asked for him…he was always out or away…
The best thing when he did return my calls…my phone rang one time! and then they had the autobot going straight into my VM…he did it on purpose this way so he didn’t have to talk to me and left his lies and blablabla on my VM.
After waiting for 16 days I had enough and cancelled with them and placed an order with MONTWAY. Five hours later on the same day, my car was booked with a pick up date 3 days later. My car was picked up even before the pick up window and was delivered within the promised time frame 7 days later.
MONTWAY was great customer service and communication from start to finish and no bullshit.
MONTWAY was CHEAPER than SHIP A CAR DIRECT!
Rumor has it SHIP A CAR DIRECT will GO OUT OF BUSINESS pretty soon…I believe it.

Hi Michael,
I do appreciate your response, however, John’s (or for that matter Ship a Car Direct) “dropping the ball” did cost me at least an extra $400 – $500 due to having to extent my apt lease for an extra week, changing travel/moving arangement, etc as well as not to mention the unnecessary stress, aggravation and time spent to find another carrier.
Also, it is one thing to be clearer but it is another not saying the truth/lying about what to expect just to gain someone’s business. That is unethical and dishonest business pratice imo.
Whether you do or do not pick up Montway’s rebounds, I just do not care for and see how that helps/helped me in any way while I was waiting for 16 days and counting for a carrier from Ship a Car Direct strung along with my calls being avoided as well as being told to place my order with multiple carriers…
Again, the big musical chairs thing comparison and whether to believe you is totally irrelevant in my case or in anyone’s case going through this. Additionally, we all know reviews can be fake, good and bad ones, for that matter.
As in my case, MONTWAY delivered as promised and advertised. And that’s the only and most important thing to me. They seem to have the best availability, 24/7 service & clear communication from my experience, I cannot speak for others. Given the fact that they are shipping 100k – 120k cars a year which is prob at least 5x – 10x as many cars as Ship a car direct or most other carriers, their number of reviews, good and bad, is prob higher as well.
I believe full responsibility would be to compensate an unsatisfied customer for extra expenses occurred due to putting trust into your company to provide advertised services that were not delivered in the end.

I would not recommend this place to no one if you have options please bypass this place it’s very unprofessional they’re rude yes it’s easy to get the job but is it worth it is the question and if you look at the reviews on this company you were clearly see that it is not people are not making this stuff up this stuff is real you’re underpaid for all the miles that you drive for them and all the freight that you move ,your DMs incompetent and does not know how to communicate with you at all and on top of that they don’t like to communicate with you if it’s not about the freight they could care less Females Please be aware of the terminal in Richmond Virginia it’s not up to par as it seems if you see something that’s not right nine times out of 10 it’s not right if you feel you’re getting treated or being handled a certain way nine times out of 10 you’re right
Worst company ever!! Do NOT USE!! They lied about the price, got me stuck then I had to pay $500 more to get my vehicle! They lied and said it would take 1-3 business days to find a carrier, it took over a week! They had the wrong amount posted on the board and I had to find out from a competitor! Terrible customer service, they have 0 accountability! Do not use!!!! Go with a more reputable company!
*SCAM* DO NOT ENGAGE with these people. I spoke to Krystal. They tried to debit a deposit, using Zelle, from my bank account. I dug deeper and this place is bogus.
This company brokered transport of my BMW cross country. After reading reviews of all kinds of carriers as well as communicating with other carriers, decided on UR.
I didn’t get off the phone with Laki, my phone rang from the carrier. They arranged to pick up my car two days later.
The transporter showed up with a brand new fully enclosed truck, loaded and left without incident. Few days later the driver called to advise the car would arrive the following day and what time was best for us for delivery.
That’s right, what time was right for us.
As we rolled up on the delivery site, the car was already offloaded and the driver was washing it. We looked it over pretty carefully and the car was perfect.
UR is not the lowest price carrier, but read the reviews of the cheaper options, scary.
UR performed and really exceeded my expectations; I would use them again in a heartbeat.
