I contacted Stateway and my only contact was Emma Kaplin. I did this because I contacted another transporter the previous year and I didn’t have confirmation of a driver till the last minute. I told Emma that I didn’t want to wait that long. I wanted to get the car transporter at least a week before my departure. Emma appeared to be empathetic, kind and understanding of my situation. She even gave me her personal cell number. She was pleasant to talk with. I thought I made the right choice. However, Emma was a “Woolf in sheep’s clothes”. We had several phone and email connections and they were always pleasant . I felt that I had made the right choice. Several times, Emma told me, “Don’t worry, everything will be okay.” In spite of her kindness as described above, the two qualities she lacked were honesty and integrity.

The bottom line was, inspite of her kindness and reassurances, she never delivered the three things she promised. We never had a transporter, never had a time, and never had a driver. We therefore, had to change our plans because of her lack of integrity.

My wife and I were disappointed that we didn’t have a driver, time and transporter. However, after reading many other reviews including the Better Business Bureau which gave Stateway an “F” review because of damaged vehicles, non delivery, and over charges.

We’re happy that we never used Stateway Transporter. For your own peace of mind and well being, AVOID USING STATEWAY.

The service was around $1100 total from MD to CA.

Everything was fine until the day before pickup when I was told that I would need to meet the driver at a location 15 mins from my house.

It was a grocery store because supposedly my street was too small for the truck to fit. Admittedly, the truck was huge, however, there were plenty of places closer that we could have met. Additionally, this step in the process should have been disclosed way sooner than the day before in order for me to make arrangements. I booked the service weeks out.

Lastly, Lisa told me that an Uber would be paid for by the driver for me to get back home because of the inconvenience. Then, the driver predicted that I over packed the car past 100 lbs and gave me an ultimatum of paying $50 for it OR paying for my own uber!! He hadn’t even weighed anything but said that he could tell by looking 🙁

All in all, my car arrived a few days early and in good condition. I did need to again drive to a location other than the drop off address given.

Low quote, agent (Robert Austin) could not deliver. Standard business practice for budget auto shippers. Original quote was $845, ended up paying $1350.

Robert called me a few times during transport, but had information that was out of date. Had to call carrier directly to get correct info. I have GPS tracking on my vehicle so I knew where it was anyways.

Was badgered a few times to leave this review. Doesn’t affect the rating and facts above; just a little annoying.

do not use this company, the driver that delivered my vehicle as he’s getting this brand new vehicle off he’s trailer he backs up right into another vehicle that he had just moved.

then the driver was trying to tell me that it was all the bumps in the r that did that, even though I just saw it happen. very unprofessional. If I could I would give the driver/ company a negative 5 star

Great communication! Always answered my calls. Led me thru step by step as to what would take place with time of pickup and drop off. I wish I had called this company on day 1! They were awesome!
