RULE #1 ALWAYS MAKE SURE TO GET AN EMAIL WITH THE QUOTE THEY GIVE YOU.

David is a SCAM artist. He initially provided a quote of $1,300 for transporting my car, but when I requested an email confirmation of the quote, I never received it. Lucky me, I documented details from our conversation (I do this everytime I’m talking about money especially when its a large amount). I had written down the quoted amount of $1,300.

When the time came to ship my car, David asked me, “do you remember what I quoted you” I said of course I do, I have it written down, $1,300. He said, “I don’t think I quoted you that, that doesn’t sound like a number I would say”. He proceeded to say, “That was way too low of a number to ship my car from LA to New Jersey” Thankfully I reached out to multiple car shipping companies and had numerous of other quotes who quoted me THE SAME PRICE.

All of this to say – get multiple options and keep those options OPEN till the last minute because you can get a scam artist like David who will change the price last minute.

***Also, ALWAYS ask for the quote to be emailed to you so there is a paper trail between both parties****

I simply got an online quote and they relentlessly contacted me every way imaginable. when I finally spoke to someone I politely asked if they would stop calling and the person on the phone said, “you don’t have to cry about it!” and immediately hung up.

Ben and others, this company treated me the same way, quoted me $450 with a $150 deposit then when it was time to pick up the vehicle saying that it would be a total of $925. I explained to Robert Austin, from he was the person I had been in communication with, he had quoted a different price. I paid the deposit with a credit card, so I thought for sure that I would be able to get my deposit back. But NO. They, Robert Austin, USA CarShip said that I cancelled the pickup, even though that wasn’t the case. They also sent my credit card company a totally different invoice then they sent me with a different date and person (Jacob Bruce) name on it. So, to anyone they considering using this company, PLEASE BEWARE!!!!! Through this experience, I’ve learned that a reliable company never ask for deposit. YOU WILL NEVER HAVE TO PAY A DEPOSIT WHEN SHIPPING A CAR…… YOUR CAR IS THEIR COLLATERAL!!!!!

First time needing auto transport. I bought a car in Texas to ship to CA. I always research a company before using and Mercury seemed to be pretty well reviewed.

So basically you pay ($200) to Mercury to use their “expertise” to select the “correct” independent transporter for your needs. I felt fine to pay that for the “expertise”. And so they found one for me in my agreed on price range.

First this trucker has a 1.5 day breakdown delay. Then his text communications are in broken english, and straight up full of attitude and rude. I’m just trying to get a status update since it’s 12 hours AFTER you missed the 2nd pickup time YOU set up!

On the pick up side, I am never given a delivery day or time. So one day I get a text saying the car is arriving TODAY in 4 hours. Luckily I could make the pick up. But come on man. This communication is a terrible way to run a business. I would NEVER use that transporter again. And I hope Mercury doesn’t either.

Maybe this is just the way it is in this fully independent operator business. Bottom line, my high end car got here quickly (overall) and undamaged. So, guess I should be thankful?
