I was purchasing a classic car from Washington and needed it transported to Southern California. I spent the better part of a month researching the best way to get it transported. I contacted each of the big “three” that are frequently used with the auto auctions seen on TV. While they were all interested and could handle the transport, none of them could give me a timeline better than 2-4 months out. I continued searching for an enclosed transport service and found Enclosed Vehicle Transport.
My first contact with Kevin was excellent. He offered me two choices, a large enclosed stacking transport, or a non-stacking 2-3 vehicle enclosed transport. I opted for the smaller non-stacking trailer. I had a somewhat short timeline, but I was still somewhat flexible. Kevin was able to arrange a pickup that was spot on. They said they could be there in Washington at noon on a Monday and sure enough, they were spot on. I was informed that transit time would be 2-3 days which was fine.
With the vehicle picked up and secured, I was then contacted by Will, the driver. Will said he had one stop before delivering my car and would be at my location about 4 PM on Wednesday. That was going to be an incredible 2 day transit time. I met Will at exactly 3:45 on Wednesday. The vehicle was in perfect condition, just the same as when it was loaded.
Overall, this was an excellent experience. I had some sleepless nights, prior to connecting with Kevin, after reading some horror stories on the Better Business Bureau complaint website and other places like Yelp.
While I doubt I will ever need another vehicle transport service, I can highly recommend Enclosed Vehicle Transport for your vehicle transport. Should I be mistaken about needing another transport, I know I will only need to make one phone call.
I started my search for a reliable enclosed vehicle carrier by looking up this type of business in the area I was shipping from on YELP. The only one I was able to locate said they could not handle the job since the vehicle wasn’t in running condition. Then my husband gave me a list of carriers that he had written down from his current Hemmings publication. Boy, did I learn a lot from those phone calls; rudeness, 6 – 8 weeks wait time, no return phone call, damage to vehicle being shipped unavoidable, etc. Then in the midst of my on-line inquiries popped up an ad for Enclosed Vehicle Transport. I read reviews on this company and knew I found a winner.
I called and talked to Kevin who was personable, knowledgeable and reassuring that he could handle the shipping in the time frame that it needed to occur. After interviewing each other on type of vehicle and origination spot/destination Kevin said he had just the driver identified for this job. His price quote was only $50. more than the quotes I had been getting from other companies. When my husband arrived home I proclaimed that I had found the company to handle the move of a valuable 2015 Porsche Cayman. Together we called and once again spoke to Kevin. He immediately emailed us a contract and vehicle shipping request form. His time frame was the end of the week that we called. We asked to delay it by a week and that was no problem. Kevin said he would notify us the day before the move and connect us or our daughter with the actual driver. Being a “nervous Nellie” I started phoning Kevin towards the time the move was going to take place because I feared I would miss his call and foul up the shipping process. Kevin reassured me that he would be politely persistent when he needed to get in touch with us.
The day before the move Kevin called both my husband and my daughter to give them the contact info and more precise shipping time frame. After that we left it in our daughters hands since she was going to be the actual contact with them. The driver arrived at the agreed upon meeting location and efficiently handled the photographing of the vehicle, and the loading, strapping down and covering the vehicle with a car cover blanket. The treasured baby was on it’s way to reunite with it’s owner. The following day it arrived in perfect condition and was off-loaded at the desired location.
Thanks Kevin for being such a calm and excellent enclosed vehicle transport company. We know you are the broker but our trust was put in you to have the correct driver identified for the job. You didn’t let us down and truly deserve a five star – Woohoo, As Good As It Gets rating!
I had an excellent experience with Enclosed Vehicle Transport, who managed the pickup and delivery of my 1969 MGC-GT.
I needed secure, covered transport from Pioneer CA to San Antonio TX and I had a narrow window. With a lead time of only one week, I told them the car needed to be picked up no earlier than 3 August and delivered no later than 18 August. Acting as agent, EVT contacted one of their best owner-operator truckers (Puma Express LLC, Kent WA) and Puma picked it up on 4 August and delivered it to my front door on 12 August.
On pickup, the driver parked his rig as close as possible to the seller’s house, then walked about a quarter mile to knock on the front door. The seller drove the car the short distance to the truck, a sleeper tractor and large 6-vehicle double-deck fully enclosed trailer with a horizontal hydraulic lift gate.
The driver positioned the car on the upper level, where it remained until the driver rang my doorbell at exactly 8:00 pm, as promised that morning when he was still hundreds of miles from my house. The driver was a big Russian grizzly bear of a man, with a handshake to match, who donned cotton gloves and had no exposed jewelry or belt buckle. He secured the car with straps, not chains. When he delivered it, I noted the car parked directly behind it was a brand new $250,000 Lamborghini Huracán Coupé, picked up from the dealer in Las Vegas for delivery to the new owner in Houston. To access my MGC, that Italian work of art had to be offloaded and parked in my driveway. My car emerged from the trailer in exactly the same condition as when it was picked up.
Pioneer California is a rural community in California Gold Rush country, about halfway between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe. From there, the truck made pickups/deliveries in San Francisco, LA, Las Vegas and Phoenix, before arriving in San Antonio, and then on to Houston and Florida.
My cost was $1698.00. I dealt with Kevin Dudley and Robb Dudley, and if they weren’t available, one or the other returned my call within minutes. For the communication, the timetable and the care taken with my car, it was worth every penny, and I endorse Enclosed Vehicle Transport without reservation.
