TL;DR: Don’t trust this company. Don’t give them the benefit of the doubt. They are uncoordinated and will annoy you with all their calls and emails until they get you to sign a contract with them. They don’t provide good customer service and they are horrible with communication.
Full story: I didn’t want to use Fidelity based on their current reviews on Yelp, but my uncle had recommended them to me since he had a good experience with them. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I should have stayed away from them.
I was moving from Southern California to Oregon to start school and I needed my car shipped up there. First off, they will spam you with calls and emails until they lock you in by signing a contract with them. They provided me a quote of $725. $175 was a service fee for them finding a person to ship my car and $550 for the driver. I signed a contract that would be for that price and for a specific time frame. Everything was going ok and they found someone to take my car, but that person had some mechanical issues. Fidelity said that they were working on someone to ship my car ASAP. My shipment date was almost delayed for a week. Fidelity found a person to take my car, but they said that I had to pay him $650. No, I already signed a contract for $550, and with the inconvenience, the least they could do is pay the extra $100. After some disputes, Fidelity said that they will pay $50. No, I have an email saying that whatever I signed on the contract is what I am going to pay, nothing more. I’m also a student and I can’t afford to spend more than what I signed up for. Finally, they agreed to pay the $100.
The driver was super nice, and I wish there was a way to do business with him directly instead of going through a bad vendor like Fidelity. He dropped off my car and said that I needed to pay him $650. I thought that Fidelity would pay the $100? He said that Fidelity didn’t mention anything to him and even said that these people are known to scam and hide fees. I gave him the $650 (otherwise he wouldn’t give me my car lol).
I emailed Fidelity immediately (this was August 31st). I wanted them to reimburse me for the costs and the inconvenience. They said that they would get it sorted and I would see a refund within 3-5 business days. 3-5 business days passed, and I didn’t see the funds in my account. I emailed and called again. No response. Seems ironic that they spam you with calls and emails before the contract and once the service is done, they become radio silent. I followed up the week after and someone said that it will process within another 3-5 business days. After 3-5 business days, still no funds in my account. I followed up and someone called me back saying they don’t know why it hasn’t been processed and it will get to me within ANOTHER 3-5 business days. I followed up the week after and was like dude, it has been a month since I filed this claim with a receipt. A refund should not take this long. Finally, after a long month battling this company, they gave me $100.
Don’t trust these scammers and read all of the reviews that they have. Even the BBB doesn’t have good reviews. I’m still surprised that they are still standing as a company.
I was very unhappy with this auto shipping company. They picked up my car June 20 and said it would be delivered 10-14 days later. It was not delivered until July 13th. I can understand there can be delays, etc but the worst part was that no one called me with updates about my car or to let me know that it was delayed. When I called to ask, I was told to leave my number and “someone would call me back”. Unfortunately, no one called me back and I continued to call daily for 9 days. When my car was eventually delivered, it was on super late at night with no warning beforehand.
Would not use this company again, mainly due to the poor customer service.
Spoke initially with sales rep Odalys, questioned $175.00 fees as other brokers charge $150 , was assured in many cases when a lower truck rate is found I will pay the lesser. Boca to Boston quotes ranged from $650 -$750 . Never got a rebate. My account was transferred few days went bye, never heard from her. When I contacted her she was very inattentive and quite laid back. She advised me she would contact me next day as to pickup date, she never called, again couldn’t car less what I wanted, if it was as if I was bothering her. The truck was delayed several days she never had the courtesy to advise me of the hold up. This went on fort quite a while.
I have been shipping cars from Florida 25 years I.have NEVER, NEVER encountered such terrible service.
Please do yourself a favour, life is too short ,stay away from this company
PS in my 80 years I have never given a review, this had to be told
