I was in panic mode as I needed to transport a vehicle I sold from Los Angeles to Atlanta. I Googled auto transport companies and Global Auto Transportation came up. I sent in an inquiry and within minutes I got a response back!
I had the distinct pleasure dealing with Robert from GAT. He must have sensed my urgency and concern about transporting shipping my car, but he put my mind at ease. He provided a brief history of the company and insured my of his and the company’s capabilities.
Robert did his research and got back to me with a price quote and estimated pick up and delivery date. I instantly jumped on it and Robert put me in direct contact with the transport driver to further assist me. I must say, the driver was just as professional as Robert. He safely loaded my car and away it went.
If I ever have to ship a car again, I’m contacting Robert from at Global Auto Transportation!
Overall the job was completed in the time frame and pricing that was quoted
Alvaro was courteous and professional with me even though I probably lost my temper a little during our last phone conversation which was wrong of me however there was some communication problems. I called a few days before shipping and asked Alvaro if they were going to pay the balance out of my credit card as the contract stated Cod upon delivery he told me no your good sir. I took that as I didn’t have to pay the driver Cod and that would be charging my credit card. Upon pickup driver stated again Cod I emailed Alvaro and asked him and he said no sir Cod upon delivery but failed to tell me who to make cashier’s check out to. I referenced the contract and made it out to Global Auto Transport and ended up having to give the driver cash.
When asked where it states who to make the check out to and why you didn’t tell me who to make it out to if it wasn’t to them he said he gave me the phone number to the driver and expected me to work it out. also there was no brakes on the vehicle which I relayed to Alvaro he failed to tell the driver of this so driver was unaware but made it work.
I would assume that the dispatch people are under commission and are fast to move on to the next call
Overall I would use them again but would be aware of the potential lack of follow-up and proper instructions from office staff
*****The next business day following the review of my experience, I was contacted by Arthur to see what could be done to make things right. After some negotiations I received a partial refund of the deposit amount due to the experience I received when shipping my vehicle using Global Auto Transportation.
Global Auto Transport will be receiving a one star because I’m forced to give one for this review and secondly because my vehicle arrived to me in one piece (although it took 21 days…yes 21 days…. compared to the 7-10 days they are claiming it takes.)
I contact Global Auto Transportation via their website and received a quote rather quickly. The next day I was contact by the suspect guy by the name of “Arthur”. Arthur reached out gave me numbers and things of that sort and we set a day for me to drop off the car. Meanwhile I faxed the required information to Global Auto Transportation. On 11/16/2016 I delivered my vehicle to the Global Auto Transportation location. “Arthur” suggested it would be good to bring the car on the 16th to ensure it would make it to NC by 11/28. I arrived at the location and an was helped by an individual. He told me that “Arthur” was gone for the day. We proceeded inside the office space where the bottom floor is an insurance company, and a computer/call center area and up a few stairs is what looks like an office space for Global Auto. There were multiple desk in close proximity to each other. The individual hopped on a computer and looked on what was supposedly Arthur’s desk for my paper work. I paid the deposit which he attempted to charge $100 more than what Arthur quoted me for the deposit. That was lowered with no problem. The vehicle was left and he said their driver would pick it up on tomorrow (11/17) when he arrived. On 11/18 Arthur e-mailed me a receipt. The receipt was slightly different than the one I had received prior. The available date was 11/18, estimated pick up date 11/21 and the estimated delivery date was 11/28. I spoke with Arthur and he stated the vehicle would probably not get picked up until 11/21. (Meanwhile, before dropping the truck off he assured me it would be picked up by 11/17). Around 11/26 I contacted Global to see where my truck was and an individual answered the phone and told me Arthur was unavailable and in a diff department. I demanded to speak to him and told him the office was really small and that he was lying. I was placed on hold and the individual who I recognized as being Arthur answered with in minutes. Arthur told me vehicle was on the way and the driver would reach out. On 11/28 I was told a driver would reach out but no driver contacted me. I was also told inaccurate information from two ppl about when my truck really left. As time went on I was then told the truck broke down in Texas and the vehicle was being repaired. An individual at Global was able to finally put me in touch with the company who had my truck. It was a disaster in trying to receive a contact for the company.
I am highly disappointed and finally received my truck on 12/7! I was only given a $100 discount from the trucking company and lot Global Auto Transportation. Arthur stopped responding via e-mail around 11/28 and would not return emails.
The trucking company handled the situation better than Global Auto. I spoke with the trucking company about a discount and they granted me one but they also stated on their posting board Global gave them negative feedback and that they were unjustified to do so. They said Global should have provided a refund as well but the trucking company was accommodating.
The office is small, watch the invoices you receive and make sure the dates are filled in, (Good luck getting a drivers phone number) and be prepared to wait 21 days for a vehicle. The opening statements and niceness only last until your vehicle is dropped off.
