I shipped with them earlier this year and the shipment was delayed a week, so I lost a lot of money on hotels waiting in San Diego for a week.
On top of that, one of their sales reps, Nick Miluzzo- was rude when I did the online quote
for the return trip. Going with another shipper.
When you disrespect your customers, they don’t come back.
Here is what I experienced using HCT to ship my SUV form California to Hawaii:
I called them to see if I could ship a vehicle with a ignition lock unit in it. The agent I spoke to told me “oh no problem we will have someone blow on the unit and drive it on to the barge.” This was I lie so I booked.
He lied!
I book my vehicle to arrive in Hawaii when I got there.
I had to call them to find out my vehicle (and everyone else got bumped off due to the military taking over the whole barge.) this set me back 20 extra days.
I don’t even know if they were truthful.
Double whammy! I will never use them again to ship.
Rogue Chef
Despite reading all of the negative reviews, I decided to go with this company because they offered a fairly competitive price compared to what I would’ve had to pay going directly through the shipper (Matson).
I was irritated by their customer service on the sales side because of this “If it’s not with us right now then go **ck yourself” attitude. It’s already stressful moving on/off island as is and having to deal with assholes doesn’t make it any better.
With that being said, these guys got the job done. I showed up to the port (Tacoma, WA) with the vic and my booking number and it was simple, quick, and easy. I received the notification that my vic arrived about a week early. Went to the Matson port to pick it up and that was a quick smooth process as well. Car exterior was a bit dirty but no damages. I am glad my move back to Hawaii is complete.
