Hawaii Car Transport is good with booking your appointment, but reaching them to reschedule (or remove the hidden fee for a credit card) was nearly impossible. Call after call, and I could not reach the representative that booked me. I finally got the change done, and the first vehicle shipped but was delivered several days late.
The second vehicle was supposed to ship right away but sat in storage for over a week before making it to the ship. We dropped it off on the 27th and were told delivery would be on the 14th. But we are told the vehicle is still in Hawaii and not shipping until the 3rd. Customer service said the 14th is the “arrival” of the car to port and NOT DELIVERY LOCATION. They did NOT provide a date the vehicle would be DELIVERED TO US.
This was NOT a misunderstanding. I was originally told the entire shipping process would take about 2 1/2 wks from shipping to receipt. But it will actually be almost DOUBLE the time to get the vehicle!!! Had we known, we would have made plans accordingly.
BUYER BEWARE! Ask for specifics!!! When will the vehicle arrive at the “port” and when will it be “DELIVERED. to the DESTINATION” Get it in writing and get specifics so you know what to expect. Many other shippers cost less, guarantee delivery dates have more transparency dates for “DELIVERY TO FINAL DESTINATION.” I will NOT be using this Hawaii Transport Service for my last vehicle and suggest you find more reliable alternatives also.
I don’t usually leave reviews but feel I could save some people heartache. I should have done more research. I had an easy time with quotes, booking and dropping off my car to move to Portland, OR. My option was to do port to door because the NW ports have been closed? This service cost extra. It was estimated my car would be delivered July 10-18th. I never got any update even online as it is an “estimate” of when the car would get to thr port, ready for delivery etc. The website states it updates in real time which is not true. I had to call Pasha and got the actualy date my car got to port in Oakland, July 3rd. I called July 13? Asking Hawaii Car Transport when my car would be pick up as it had been 10 days and they told me to check the online tracker and wait for email. I got an email that a carrier was assigned on July 14. I then saw they finally put a date for delivery July 21. I was shortly relieved I had some date. The next day, it changed to July 22. I get no notification/email/call as I am waiting for my car. I look up the carrier they assigned, Border to Border Auto LLC and it is like this trucking company is nonexistent with no website and terrible reviews as well as the company being difficult to fins info for online. Very scary. I tried to call Hawaii Car over the weekend but alas, not working weekends. I tried to call the trucking company and no answer or professional voice message. It’s now July 25th and after writing to Hawaii Car customer service, they sent a simple email that stated the carrier has picked my car up… no dates, nothing else. I have been living in a new place with 2 kids without my car for 20 days. Choose wisely friends, because I didn’t. I should have gone to Oakland and drove my car up myself. Complete waste of money and time.

I am not a normal complainer, you can see my other reviews that this is not a common thing for me to do.
Do NOT ship your car from this company.
They took my money and now I cannot even drop the car off or get anyone to help me.
I fly out tomorrow, leave the island and cannot get anyone to help me at the harbor or with the paperwork
I was sent everything to book, filled it out sent it in.
Got a letter this morning that I needed a notarized form from the bank (takes up to two weeks) and when I spoke with someone this morning, she laughed and said good luck.
I have now been on hold for an hour waiting to talk with someone.
The original person that I spoke with Chase, was quick to answer and return my calls before I booked but now he won’t take a call or reply.
Chase … that is his name.
I am so frustrated and I do not wish this on any of you.
DO NOT get stuck in this mess, so please do not ship with them.
They will take your money and not even your car, and you will be left booking with someone else.
