If you are planning a move in the NYC area, use these people! I was very anxious about moving. I lived in a 5th floor walk-up, had more than 125 boxes, and had several pieces of heavy furniture. From start to finish, the Moving of America team was helpful, professional, and understanding. On the day of the move, Margorito, Bany, and Liandro arrived on time and were friendly and competent. This was not an easy move, but they were pleasant and efficient. Joey at Moving of America was helpful from the start – helping me to plan and assuring me that he understood the stress of moving and that he and his team were there to make my move as easy as possible. He checked in during the move to make sure there were no problems. Dolores in the office was also friendly and helpful. All-in-all – the experience was made so much easier by having such a professional team. I would highly recommend this moving service.
THIS is the moving company you want! Had a nightmare of the original moving company my cousin hired – NO SHOW the morning of the move. MOA came in very last minute with the 2 crews who had probably each had a few moves that day. 6 guys/1+ hour = amazing! The guys were hustling, happy, funny, careful, polite, AWESOME! They had the furniture wrapped, boxes in the truck and off to the storage facility in record time. Joseph/Project manager came by and dropped off the contract. He told me that he usually comes himself to the house prior to the move to give an ACCURATE estimate. Even though this situation was different with the last minute rush, the price was very fair. Would highly recommend!

The movers did an excellent job. Courteous, professional and quick. The stuff arrived without damages or loss.
The problem, as usual, is not with the people who do the actual work, but with those who run the company.
Since the destination is not reachable by a tractor trailer, we agreed that near it they would switch to a smaller, 1-piece truck, which would cover the last leg of the move. As that involved an additional truck and extra time and labor, we agreed on raising the price by $500.
The movers told me that no such switch took place. The 1-piece truck traveled from NJ to FL with 4 moves on it, mine included.
Since there was no additional truck and no extra time and labor involved, I called the company and asked them to reduce the agreed-on price by $500. The reaction was rude and offensive, and I was accused of trying to scam(!) them out of $500.
Also, since I was not present at the destination for the delivery, I paid by credit card. I asked them to charge the card additional $240 as a tip to the movers. They promised to do so, but never did. I called several times about it, got promises, but they never charged me and never paid the movers. Why they would screw their own workers is beyond me.
Too bad that while the hard work was done so well, some cubicle-dwelling jerks would tarnish the company’s reputation.
