For a NY to Cali car transport.

This was a really messed up experience. I was quoted for an amount I called the company 20 mins later and they said they had me on file I get a call a few days they tell me it will be 250 more than the quote. I ask if they can keep me on file till I can get the price I was quoted they said yes the would call me by the weekend I called Friday because they didn’t call me, I called Saturday and they said they would call me at the end of the day they didn’t and Monday I called again they said they would get someone before the end of the week. They did get someone for me but now it was 300 more than the price quoted. Fine, I no longer have an option.

Then I get the guy, Mike, who would deliver my car to my door, which I’m paying for, before the work day is over on Thursday during the later half of the day. (A workday typically ends at 5) I told the driver I couldn’t be home after 6 because I have work. He didn’t deliver the car before 5. I took the day off to wait for him. I called him since he didn’t call or make it before 5 and he said ok he would do it tomorrow morning.

Later that evening he called me because he couldn’t keep the car on his truck because it wasn’t convenient for his schedule the next day. I’m already at work and could not pick up my phone. I call that night and apologize for not picking up and not working our schedules out.

Mike calls me the next morning around 9am saying to meet him at a place that is 3 miles away from my house because he doesn’t have time to drop off my car at my house. Ummm ok… He says he’ll be there in 20 and he’ll wait 30 mins after that. I’m at work so I need to get to meet him and I take a UberPool because I had to pay an extra 300 to deliver this car so I’m not really rolling in wealth right now. I’m running behind coming from Burbank which is about 8 miles from our meet up point but about 4 miles from my house so I was just going to rush home when he told me what time he was going to drop off the car. The UberPool takes a bit long to come get me and drop me off so about 45 mins after his first call I’m literally 3 mins away he calls me and threatens to put my car in storage and having me pay for extra storage and delivery because I’m late picking up my car at NOT MY HOUSE! He doesn’t let me get a word in while he’s talking so once he’s done, because I am honestly shocked, I tell him I’m 3 mins away and I was coming from work and I took an UberPool so it took a bit longer.

I get there and ask if we can talk about how he was talking to me he says no just sign the papers and pay me because he’s on a schedule and I was making him late while I’m signing the papers and he continues talking about how I lied to him about being home and he doesn’t appreciate lies. I replied that I didn’t appreciate him yelling at me and I did not lie he assumed I was home but I have a job just like he does and that he lied the day before about when he would deliver the car because I asked if it would be there before the workday was over and he said yes.

I got my car and paid him the full amount. My mother tipped the driver in NY and I had a tip ready for the driver here but took it out because he didn’t actually deliver the car to my home.

I am sad by the service I receive because I looked on Yelp before calling this company and was excited to see all the good reviews. As a women I am cautions and conscience when picking a company out of fear of sexism especially when it has to do with automobiles.

We had a very pleasant and streamlined experience with Nationwide. Have to admit we were a little nervous about selecting a carrier online, but after a little bit of checking around, I knew we would be in good hands. Vehicle arrived as scheduled, the driver was great and even went the extra mile to make our scheduled meet more convenient for my husbands schedule! Thank you for a great experience. I’m sure we will us you for the next Classic Car we purchase!
