On March 29th, 2017 I contracted with Navy Auto Transport to ship my car from Wisconsin to Washington DC. Over multiple phone calls with the representative, Mario, he was informed that the car needed to be delivered prior to Thursday, 4/13, as I would be out of town. On multiple occasions he told me the car would be delivered by Tuesday (4/11). The car was picked up on Saturday 4/8.
Mario put me in contact with the dispatcher, Alice. Alice had not reached out to me so I called her Tuesday morning and she said that the driver was mid-route and experienced truck issues and would not be there until Wednesday. I reminded her that the car needed to be delivered by Thursday. I didn’t receive any call on Thursday so I called Alice at 1pm EST Thursday and she told me that the driver had not left Chicago yet (Alice had lied about him being in route). At this point I was put in contact with Alice’s supervisor, Maggie.
I spoke with Maggie because there was not going to be anyone to receive the car on Thursday. She told me I needed to find alternative plans to receive the car on Friday from (8-12). I had to make alternative plans to have the building doorman to let him on Friday.
On Friday, I had not heard from Maggie by 12pm EST so I called her and she told me that the driver was not en route yet, like she had promised. After expressing how disappointed I was in her service and lies, she hung up on me without any explanation.
At this point I called Mario for assistance. He talked with Maggie and scolded me for “calling too early in the day”. He promised that the car would be there Saturday or Sunday (Easter Sunday). I told her that Sunday would not work because no one is on duty in Easter Sunday. He said that the car would be delivered on Monday morning.
When the car was finally delivered (10 days after pickup) the driver parked in the wrong parking spot after clear instructions where to park, threatening a tow for me.
I am extremely disappointed in the service that Navy Auto transport provided. They lied multiple times regarding when the driver was in route. Additionally, they provided false promises (e.g. It will be delivered tomorrow 8-12pm and it didn’t arrive until 72 hours after). Navy Auto Transport does not hold their subcontractors responsible for their actions and does not mitigate any issues appropriately.
