Received a call about picking up my car. The cost to ship was $300 more than quoted. I was told that the car would be picked up Saturday 6pm, and delivered Sunday. Car wasn’t picked up until 730 and it’s been 4 days and the car is not here. I called SGT and was told the car would be delivered Tues in the morning. It’s now 1130am and I haven’t heard from the driver. I have lost time from work, was lied to about the delivery day and paid $300 more than quoted. Extremely poor customer service. Would not recommend this company to transport a bike in the future!
I wanted to share my recent experience with SGT Transport, and unfortunately, it was far from satisfactory. The issues I encountered with this company include poor communication, inflexibility, and unjustified additional charges. I feel compelled to warn others about my negative experience and strongly advise against using their services.
Firstly, the communication challenges with SGT Transport were incredibly frustrating. The drivers, both of whom were Eastern Europeans in my case, had a very limited command of the English language. This made it exceedingly difficult to effectively communicate my needs and concerns. I had hoped for polite and considerate interactions during this important move, but unfortunately, the drivers displayed a rude and blunt attitude. Their approach consistently seemed to be “my way or the highway,” which was highly disappointing.
When it came to the vehicle pickup, I encountered further issues. Instead of accommodating my request to pick up the car from our location, the SGT driver insisted that I drive the vehicle to a more convenient location for them. This demand was completely unreasonable and left me perplexed.
Even more concerning was the situation with the vehicle delivery. Despite providing ample notice about a change in the delivery location while the driver was still 8 hours away, he flatly refused to deliver the car as requested, even though the distance was the same as the original delivery location. The reason provided was, once again, their convenience. They expected us to travel 90 minutes from our hotel to meet them, and when I expressed my disagreement, the driver went so far as to threaten to hold our vehicle “hostage.” This behavior was completely unprofessional and unacceptable.
Ultimately, to have our car delivered to the desired location, we reluctantly agreed to pay an additional $200. This charge felt unjustified and coercive, as it was a direct result of SGT Transport’s refusal to accommodate our reasonable requests.
In conclusion, my experience with SGT Transport was highly disappointing. Their poor communication, inflexibility, and unjustified extra charges left me with a strong recommendation to avoid this company entirely. If you have a move planned and want peace of mind regarding your vehicle transport, I strongly urge you to seek alternative options and steer clear of SGT Transport.
very simple and easy transaction. my vehicle was picked up exactly when we wanted and delivered to us 3 days later. the driver was courteous and on time. would recommend this company. thanks
