What’s a major factor you would consider when searching for an auto carrier? For me it was reliability. Reliability that 1) the carrier will pick up your vehicle as planned and that 2) the carrier will deliver your vehicle on time without any damage. I never had an opportunity to see how Transport Masters performed regarding point #2, because they failed at point #1. It was an absolute terrible experience dealing with this company. They are not reliable whatsoever. I made a reservation (and paid over $1,500) in May 2023 to have them pickup and transport my vehicle from Mobile, AL out to the Los Angeles area in September 2023. Initially everything went well with the order. Although I could never receive an actual receipt of payment, despite multiple requests, my credit card was charged and I received an order invoice. I worked with a gentleman name David. Communication was okay, definitely not the best. Emails would go unanswered. Phone calls and voice messages as well. After multiple attempts at both, a response was eventually received. Given the length of time between the order date and pickup date, I wasn’t concerned with David’s slow response. Each time I did speak with David, he’d tell me a driver had not yet been identified, but that he was working it. He also stated that the week immediately prior to the vehicle pickup was the most critical, and most likely when a driver would be identified. One thing that I thought was odd was that he told me to call him everyday the week leading up to the pickup day to stay on him, and to see if he found anyone to transport my vehicle yet. This surprised me. I didn’t think I would have to call to remind someone to do their job, given the amount of money I had paid for the transport service. Regardless, I did it to ensure the job was completed. Every day leading up to the scheduled pickup date, I’d call David to see if he found a driver, and every day he didn’t have anyone identified. Given the timeframe from when I needed to have the vehicle picked up and when I was leaving town, there were no alternative transport options available for me to switch to. My vehicle was supposed to be picked up from Mobile, AL on a Saturday. It was not until Friday, the evening prior, when David finally called to let me know he found a driver for the next morning. He told me he struggled to find someone for my order because I was so remote and out of the way. Again, the pickup was in Mobile, AL and it was going to the Los Angeles area. Mobile is a relatively large city in Alabama right off I-10, one of the major interstate highways that runs from the East Coast to the West Coast. Regardless of his excuse, I felt relieved that a driver was finally identified and my vehicle would finally be shipped. David told me someone from possibly two different area codes would be calling me to coordinate the pickup. He couldn’t give me a full name or phone number for me to call them. That same night, Friday night, no driver called me. The next day, Saturday – the day of pick up – no driver called and no one from Transport Masters called me. No one ever showed up to pick up my vehicle. Sunday came and went, and still no one called me, and no one showed up. I tried calling David on his cell over the weekend to find out what was going on. I left voice messages. I sent emails. Nothing. I had absolutely no help from David. He totally bailed on me, even though he said to call him on his cell at anytime if I had a problem with the order. Monday came and David finally called me back, but by this time it was too late. I had already cancelled my plane ticket and started driving my vehicle out to California by myself. I lost so much time and money because of the incompetence of Transport Masters. I would never use them and never recommend them. They are completely worthless and completely unreliable.
