Overall, I think this company did a fantastic job with my move from Boston to San Francisco. They gave me a fair, accurate estimate that only went up at pick up because I underestimated how much stuff we had. My original estimate was ~$3600, and ended up being ~$4200. If you are accurate with how much you have to move and the layout of your locations, the estimate they give you will be good. The 4 guys who came to pick up were done in 2 hours (one bedroom apartment fully furnished). They came right when they said they would and they were very polite. Delivery was not so great- the driver and his partner actually made it a nightmare for me. I won’t go into details since the delivery driver single-handedly gave me a hard time, which I don’t expect will be an issue for anyone else in the future. However, I called Xtreme Movers to voice my concerns, and they addressed all of the issues I had right away. I have some minor damages as a result of the delivery team, but Nicole (I think is her name?) with Xtreme Movers was very accommodating for me. They want to make it a good experience for you, so let them help if you need it! I wish I had called sooner.
Some things to keep in mind:
– the contract says your things will be delivered within 21 days from your first available receiving date. It’s unlikely it will take that long if you’re on a popular route or during a busy season, but if you NEED your stuff before then, this may be an issue for you. For me, it was delivered one week after my first available date, 18 days total after it was picked up in Boston.
– If you’re unhappy about a charge or timeline, check the contract. The company will be understanding of your troubles, but will refer to the contract. Don’t expect them to comp your $5000 move because a mirror was broken, and do expect to pay the long carry fee. Overall, just read the contract.
– To fit as many orders as possible in the same truck, they will stack floor to ceiling. That means boxes that aren’t full will be crushed and may break. Most of the breakable things I had survived, but the boxes looked awful. I’d recommend packing everything yourself so you can minimize deadspace that will cause boxes to break.
– Remember that moving things long distances is rough, so there will likely be bumps and scrapes on the corners of things. I have a few on the corners of my couches and tables, but nothing major to me. If that is a concern for you, I recommend adding your own protection in addition to their wrapping. They offer complimentary $0.60/lb insurance for damages, but you’re better off taking extra steps to protect your stuff in the first place. For couches and mattresses, I recommend buying covers to protect from liquid and dust.

Moved cross country and I had multiple issues with these folks. First they canceled my original move date stating that they had two drivers to make the trip and they would be there before I would get to my destination to receive the delivery . Then they left late and showed up 3 days past the date they promised. Although when you call them on it they state a 12 to 14 day window.
Got our stuff and had damages. Major scratches on Executive desk, wet mattresses, missing portable BBQ grill, wet boxes and as far as we can tell two boxes are still missing. I’m glad its over and definitely will not even think about using them again.
I will stuff a U-Haul and drive it myself before I hand them anything again. I gave them two stars because the majority of our belongings made it. Marsha was nice but once she had our money she would not talk to me live again. It was mostly me leaving her messages. Oh and of course I paid almost 2k above the LOOOOOOOSE estimate. You might as well just pick a random number because it will always come out higher in the end. All in all I guess it could have been worse. They did offer to pay for having the mattress cleaned, but since it was a memory foam mattress we cleaned it ourselves and its fine now.
Good luck to all that choose Xtreme Movers!
