I tipped the driver (delivering from east coast) hoping he would take caution with my car but for some reason my car came back damaged with dents and scratches, and the driving company has a before and after pictures phone app, so it was evident with the pictures the damage was not there before. The (different) driver I received my car from in California would not let me sign a damage notice even when I showed him the company's picture app, and threatened to start driving away with my car if I did not sign, I called the company and they told me to call the police, it was extremely unsettling and technically extortion. Very immoral, under the books, and shady for the company to use a third hand party they were not liable for. I had to just sign it and pay for the damages (over a thousand dollars) myself.
A Unique Transport was a terrible experience. They made promises they did not fulfill. They did not communicate throughout the process. They damaged my vehicle with a claim of over $900. damage which is below the insurance deductible. They are refusing to pay even with picture proving the condition of my vehicle prior to them taking possession. In addition it took them over 2 weeks to deliver my vehicle. Horrible customer service.
I was a little skeptical when I had already contracted with the broker to transport my car from Florida to Ca. Using A unique since they didn't have great reviews. I spoke to Penny (broker) about my concern, she expressed to me that they are one of many transporters the use but she trusted them to move her kids car. So that put me at ease. All I have to say is Mike at A unique was extremely professional and kept me up to date on the pick up and drop off days and time. They were prompt, on time carefully with my Caprice PPV at a fair price. Thanks again A Unique.
I unfortunately used this company to transport my brand new 2019 Subaru wrx sti from Jacksonville Florida to San Diego ca. On it's way to the address for delivery, they ended up damaging my rear bumper and mudflaps. This was the result of the tire straps that they routed on the back tires and the mudflaps through the back bumper. Their insurance would not cover it as they have a deductible of $5000 dollars or more. Anything else lower than that, you're pretty much going to have to keep calling the company to pay you. I've already made numerous calls, and still the owner of the company is unwilling to pay for the damages they did to my vehicle. I'm going to file small claims in court. For anyone looking for a transport company to ship their car, go somewhere else and do not use this company. Trust me.
Summary-DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Logistically challenged, unprofessional, and have zero communication while delivering something as valuable as a car. Below is just a rant of what happened. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, there are MANY OTHERS.
Would give 0 stars if I could. Got transport from San Diego-Tampa estimated 7-10 days. Day 12, I call them (they never called me, even as they are 48 hours late) they say car carrier broke down in Tallahassee, they'll call me back later to tell me how long delay is. Ok- stuff happens I get it. Don't get a call for 24 hours, I call them, they tell me I can expect my car in next evening (day 13). I now have to rent a car for a business trip which costs me $80. And everyday I have to uber to work costs money so I really lost money now. They take off $100, I have still lost money. Another 3 DAYS go by NO CALLS OR RETURNED MESSAGES. Day 16 Whoever answers their phones finally answers says they'll call me back shortly no answer. I speak to a manager who assured me they'll improve communication at my clear request. This did not happen. I have to call back AGAIN at 3 PM day 17, they say someone will call me. DOESN'T happen. Day 18 the driver (the most competent person in the company) calls to tells me they have new pickups in Orlando but assured me it will be by that night. Calls back hours after he should have left in Orlando, saying held up in Orlando, will deliver next morning.
At the time of writing this, it is day 18 and I still haven't received my car. IF IM LUCKY, I'll get it tomorrow, day 19, 9 DAYS LATE, NO CAR for 19 days and all in all only $150 off. I will probably have to call and remind them because they do not call you. By my estimates I spent $190 on daily Ubers to work and rental car, so I lost $40 having my car sent late, and by COMPLETE unprofessionals. I said all this to a manager and they said that was best discount they could do. 19 days to get a car across the country. Using public transit one could make that trip in 3.5 days. I understand there are stops they make along the way but this was absolutely absurd. This was done through my corporate office which ships many cars from SD to Tampa. Made sure my corporate office will never use again, and you shouldn't either. I would elaborate to anyone that comments and has questions about how terrible this company is run.
Vehicle was damaged by company. Working with A Unique Transport via Montway Auto Transport. Since the can is almost 50 years old very few shops are comfortable working on it. The first estimate I received for repairs was approximately $3300.00. Will up date review when resolved.
Update 3 January. Neither company will take responsibility for the damages. Montway recommended using own insurance company to pay for damages caused during shipment.
DAMAGED my vintage Corvette. TOTALLY ruined the original paint. The delivery driver LIED about how/where to report the damage. He is a true piece of human excrement (he won't even know what Im saying). The manager Mike admitted to damaging my vehicle then, invented a scenario so he would'nt have to pay.
This is a group of liars and cheats!!!! Stay away!!!
This company was handling a shipment and was the absolute worst to deal with. They refused to deliver the vehicle to our address and further said they would cover the cost of the tow truck and when it came time to pay for the truck they stopped answering the phone. Absolute worst company to do business with.
3 stars for delivering by the promised date. However, make sure you cover your seats if you don't want them to get stained. My interior came back dirty and the company doesn't claim liability for the inside.
This is the most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with. There is only one number for the company that only works Monday through Friday. The drive that is carrying the car never have his name and is not answering calls. The car is now two days late and he has now blocked our number after reading texts and not answering phone calls. We discovered this because we used another phone to call and it went through but shocker: HE DIDN'T ANSWER. For a company that is carrying someone's expensive property they should have an employee reachable by phone everyday. This is the worst business around and deserves negative 100 stars for the way they conduct business.
Mike the owner is horrible to deal with. My car came back w grease all over the inside of my drivers door, steering wheel and floor mats were filthy. My wife witnessed the driver not using gloves at all to remove the cars from the truck and then getting into the vehicles. I have a luxury vehicle and was very angry how I received my car back.
After reaching out to the owner he just kept saying that is says in our contract that they are not responsible for any damages on the inside of the car.
Stay away from this company.
So here it is July 6th I still have yet to hear from this company why they drove my car 311 miles. I see the other reviews that write something good about this company consider yourself lucky. I have written a letter to my attorney generals office and to the BBB but I'm sure nothing will be solved, it's a case of the consumer getting screwed again. Make sure you always take pictures of the car and the odometer before because your case might be worth going to court. Good luck
Had my car picked up today out of Eastvale California, having it shipped to Verobeach Florida so far the company has been reliable, Will update on my experience with the company once I receive my car
So I received my card today it was expected to be here on Monday but due to some maintenance delays it arrived Thursday. They kept me well-informed and the driver was right on time, he really made an effort to bring the car exactly where I asked. Car was a little dusty but other then that there are no complaints will definitely use this company again and would recommend them to anyone for worry free hassle free car transport.
Distgusted. And this after I carefully researched who I would use. The broker service hooked me up with them. I was told 7-10 days. It is day 12 at the end of the day. I was told early this morning. I ..... don't know what else to say. (shaking head)
I am a lawyer. My client hired A Unique Transport to transport her car for an agreed upon $830. When the car arrived, they demanded an additional $300, without which they refused to release the car. They claimed that the broker she used (whom she paid) went out of business and owed A Unique Transport money FOR OTHER DEALS. Mike admitted that the broker did not owe ANY MONEY FOR THIS DEAL but told me that he's trying to recoup his losses from that broker by charging each customer EXTRA MONEY.
I was beyond shocked and sought to clarify that $830 was all he was owed for my client's car transport, to which he said YES. But he still, as I sit here, refuses to release my client's car unless she pays an additional $300.
I see a lot of bad actors in my line of work but I've never had anyone so bold as to say that they were taking extra money from my client to pay for other businesses losses. This guy should be out of business.
