Never Use. As I was vetting several brokers to obtain shipping of a vehicle from CA to TX, I called to ask how their company worked (e.g. upfront charges, lead time for pick up, etc.), I was hung up on twice! Joe would answer the phone and gladly talk to me when he was giving me his SPEEL, but when I asked questions, he just hung up. The first time I thought it was an accident, but the second, I realized Joe just didn't want to talk to me about if their quotes were firm and how they got paid.
As a follow up, I am still getting emails from them trying to obtain my business. NEVER, if a company has something to hide, I will not use them.

They are non professional, cheaters, sealing item from car.
I am very disappoint to say that, when i check my car i can see many items missing from my car.
I find that my 2 googles worth $600 are missing(some other items too) from my car, it a shame on you and your providers.
All the stuff i kept in my car, when i check, i fell someone get into my car and trying to search into that because all stuff is disturbed.
I have paid $1025, for service and i have received my car after 4 days than scheduled date, but now when i am checking my car then i realize that staff, driver and other staff/provider who are doing stealing from people cars.
I am going to escalate this serious issue to senior management for sure.

This is a horrible experience with this train wreck of a company !! DO NOT USE EVER . I called to schedule a truck to be moved on June 6th I was told "I was on "schedule for Friday at the LATEST ". I called them several time throughout week to see if they were able to pick up ... I called Friday 9am asking what time that They would be here for truck ? I was told I would hear from them shortly . It got to be 3pm I called again for the 3rd time I was told " looks like this is not gonna happen today " . I said NO sir this is BULLSHIT you can't just tell someone for a week you are picking up the truck and not show up ". He hung up one me and would not answer the phone for the rest of the day. on Monday morning they call telling me they can pick up the car ... too late it was picked up already by a company I called Friday at 3pm. After I figured out this company was a scam.

After months of quote searching to send my military son's 1997 Ford F-350 beast 2500 miles across the country, I found A1A & they worked super hard to find a driver for our ginormous truck.

The pick up & drop off drivers were super nice & loaded her with skill & care. Pick up and delivery times were right on with what we were told they'd be.

Many thanks to A1A for making my hard working sailor & his friends happy as their project truck is finally to them!

they raised price from the quote 2 times. the dispatcher (Joe) hung up on me because I questioned the 2nd price increase. These people are dishonest.

Dishonest, unresponsive, unethical. "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau. Does not honor quotes, does not ship in stated timeframe, does not return calls.

We hired A1A Express to ship two cars across the country. On the scheduled pickup date, the cars were not picked up and we could not reach the business. Next day, they told us they hadn't found a driver, even though we had booked more than a month prior. Finally, 17 DAYS after pickup was scheduled, they found a driver but raised our quote by $600. Additionally, we ended up spending another $800 for a rental car while we waited for our cars.

When I called and asked to speak with a Supervisor about the delay and additional cost, I never received a call back.

Save yourself time and money and find a different company to ship your vehicles

As other reviewers pointed out, this company can increase their price by 30% or more at the very last second when telling you they found a driver for you after you booked them for a day or two. This just happened to me even though the company document they sent me says only a possible 7% price adjustment if needed. Don't believe their price quote!
They seem to have no problem taking advantage of people in need.

Shipped my car to Florida and back. Both times, the actual cost was $200 higher than the original quote, which they say should be within $50 of the final cost.

Evidently, quotes mean nothing. Beware.

Received a quote 3 weeks prior to date needed to ship. They said they would get back to me with specific pick up date a few days prior to my requested dates. One week before, I received a call from Jeremy who said that the car can be picked up however the price increased more than $100.

However I had received other offers that promised the date and original price quoted. So I told them I would not be using their services. I called another carrier. While I was on the phone with them, FRANK from A1A texted me 3 times and called 3 times . Once I completed the call I answered Franks call. He said they would ship the car for the orginally quoted price, but I told him that I had already confirmed with another.

FRANK became very verbally abusive and rude. He bashed the other company then started in on me telling me that I didnt know what I was doing and that it was unethical of me to call other carriers while I was working with them. I mentioned that it was unethical that they would increase the price by $100 at the last minute and then decrease it again after I declined their service. However he couldn't hear me because he would not stop yelling about the fact that I didn't know what I was talking about.

Do yourself a favor....skip over A1A Express Auto and if you don't......avaid FRANK!

If there was a minus star I would give them that. They have had my request for weeks shipping a car from Gaylord MI. It's still there. They must screen calls as every time I ring no one answers. I spent 35 mins at a time trying to get through - no answer.

Apparently these shipping companies all use the same resources.and they told me if I cancelled with them, and I was welcome to, but I would start on the bottom rung again. In hindsight that's probably bull crap .

Look we understand it's sometimes difficult, but answer your bloody phones. Which begs the Q - how many work there?

This is a lengthy review, but it probably contains some useful information. If not, well oops.

I am glad I didn't base my decision to use this company solely on the reviews. I had a great experience shipping my car 1,800 miles back home after a road trip gone horribly wrong.

Beware if you put in requests from multiple shipping companies you WILL get 463538484 phone calls and emails all day every day.

Anyway.... now on to how A1A Express saved us... we know someone who previously shipped a car with them before. If you aren't familiar with how these companies work this is a dispatch company that finds a trucking transporter based on your location and destination. Yes they want your money, and yes there is a fee for their service. Why? Because you can't go around calling the truck drivers yourself while they are driving asking for quotes and when they can get to your route. It sucks, but that's how it works.

The fee we were originally quoted was $950 from Maryland to El Paso, Texas. This was beyond reasonable since most other companies wanted $1500 or better to drive to the middle of nowhere. Unfortunately when the driver contacted us, he said he was unable to meet the quoted price and had to raise it to $1075. I was a little irritated, but eh what can you do? I would have paid anything not to drive that far again, so the extra $125 wasn't a complete deal breaker. They do want cash on delivery so make sure you hit the ATM if you don't have tons of cash just laying around.

We flew out of Maryland on a Thursday evening, the transporter from ZSL Trucking showed up on Friday as planned and received the vehicle from a family member (which was very convenient). They went over every scratch on the car, and called us to tell us that it would be about 4 maybe 5 days and that they would call again when they were 24 hours away.

I wasn't expecting the vehicle to arrive until maybe Tuesday or Wednesday, but the driver called Monday morning at 9:00 am and said he was 4 hours away. It was like Christmas!! 4 hours later it was pretty cool to see the truck pull up across the street and see them moving other cars off the truck to take mine off. My vehicle was below someone's car that was leaking oil and it had oil all over the hood and windshield, I don't know if there is anything that they can do to prevent this, I guess not, but maybe as a tip to others request to be put at the top so you can just get bird crap instead of oil.

Overall I had a good experience, the vehicle got to me faster than expected, they were honest about the price change, and we were treated respectfully.

RUNNNNNNNN! This place is a COMPLETE SCAM. They are liars and don't care about customer service or making things right with customers. They also claim to be #1, which is not a claim they are allowed to make. I had to cancel an order and like everyone already said, they charged my $50 even when they confirmed BEFORE and AFTER I placed the order that there were no cancellation fees.

They low-ball you on their shipping costs just to reel you in. DON'T do it!

This is the biggest pos company i ever dealt with starting with giving one price than changing it after u book it then giving u dates for pickup and 3 weeks later still no pickup but plenty of lies why it wasent picked up. after getting another company cause they dident pickup truck i ask for my deposit back and they would not return it. the price went from 675$ with the most being 50 $ more to 875 and still couldent get the job done. The staff is nasty with zero respect for there customers
