Cross Country Auto Transport

Samantha Smith was outstanding from start to finish. She worked really hard to fins me the best rates possible, with highly reputable and responsive providers!

From the very beginning she was transparent, responsive, and on her game with respect to explaining the process and following uo with email and phone to ensure all was in order!

The delivery service was great!

I highly recommend AmeriFreight!

I had a great vehicle transport experience from the booking made the same week to the transport delivery. Melissa was great in explaining the bid process through to scheduling and the driver was great. My vehicle arrived on time and in the same condition. Very professional staff. I highly recommend AmeriFrieght.

horrible rip off

booked shipping days ahead for total of $500, i pai a $150 deposit to secure transport, the day it was to be picked up i got a text saying they could not do it for 500 and it would be an additional $1000, and it would not be here when it was scheduled, they could not secure a driver to haul it. how do you take a deposit and send a contract without knowing you can deliver what you promised? after a miserable day of back and forth with the guy giving me a lower number each time but still way above the agreed $500, i had to put a call into my lawyer. when i told them i would just drive and pick the vehicle myself they tried to add on a $200 cancelation charge, when they could not even do the job! BE ADVISEDREAD EVERY WORD IN THE CONTRACT, DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! THE CALL CENTER IS MANNED BY SCAMMERS AND IS A TOTAL RIP OFF!
after it is all said and done, i had to report their emails as a scammer, i had to go to the bank and close my account to avoid them putting in a new charge, and i had to block their number on my phone.
I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE
be aware of who you are dealing with, question everything. i did and they still got $150 out of me for nothing.

$2,350 IN DAMAGE + BROKER REFUSES TO HEL

Stay away! I paid AmeriFreight a $200 broker fee for a professional transport. They dispatched a carrier (MGC Global LLC) that arrived with improper equipment, resulting in a ramp strike that almost ripped the front bumper off my 2019 Mercedes E450.

The carrier then violated federal law by failing to provide a pickup or delivery Bill of Lading and fled the scene. Progressive Insurance (Claim #26-375712381) has officially disclaimed coverage because the carrier won't cooperate and has a $2,500 cargo deductible.

AmeriFreight has formally refused to refund my $200 broker fee or take responsibility for their negligent carrier selection. I have filed formal complaints with the FMCSA National Consumer Complaint Database and the BBB. If you value your car and your money, look for a broker that actually stands behind their service.

Worse experience

I was given a quote of 450. Then 700. Then I gave a deposit of 100 then when it was picked up 3 days late I was told it was now 800 on delivery and he could drop it now on the side of the road if I wasnt going to pay. I told them I have a disabled son that needed his vehicle. Then I was asked for the driver's number as he didn't have it and it was being delivered and it wasnt . The driver was super nice and had no idea this was happening. He was told to get it as the other 2 people didnt. The driver kept me up to date.

Poor Service

I strongly advise NOT using AmeriCargo of Cicero, IL for vehicle transport. My experience with their dispatcher, Selag Magdalena, was extremely unprofessional from start to finish.

During my first booking, she never disclosed the full pricing. When I asked a simple question about the rates, she became rude and dismissive, telling me “you can go with another company”—as if customers don’t have the right to ask about fees. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe she was having a bad day, so I moved forward with the booking.

Fast forward to my return shipping, and the customer service was even worse. She informed me they couldn’t accommodate my requested week (Nov 30th), so I called back to see about another week. Again—no urgency, no patience, and no professionalism. When I followed up a third time, she started making up “new rules” that were never discussed during my original booking.

At that point I contacted SGT, who not only offered a much lower price, but also worked with me on a pickup later in the week—something AmeriCargo couldn’t (or wouldn’t) do.

I texted AmeriCargo within 10 minutes of speaking with SGT to cancel the pickup, and Selag’s response was to tell me not to call them again since I “shopped around.” As a paying customer, I absolutely have the right to compare prices and choose the best service.

Bottom line:
AmeriCargo lacks professionalism, customer service etiquette, transparency, and basic respect for customers. I would never recommend AmeriCargo of Cicero, IL to anyone looking for reliable, professional transport service.

Scam

I had a terrible experience with AmeriFreight and their so-called “AFTA Protection Plan.”
After paying a $393 broker fee, AmeriFreight completely disappeared. They never contacted me once after booking, and when my vehicle was delivered with windshield damage, they pushed me to AFTA Plan. AFTA turned out to be slow, unprofessional, and nearly impossible to reach — their phone number doesn’t even work. Every email update takes more than a week, and even their “settlement” estimate was completely wrong, showing only a split payment instead of the actual full replacement cost.
AmeriFreight kept claiming they “are not experts” and refused to help. The only reason AFTA even responded was because I filed a BBB complaint. Without outside pressure, AmeriFreight and AFTA both ignored me for weeks.
This is not real protection — it feels like a scam add-on that misleads customers. I strongly advise anyone considering AmeriFreight to stay away, and definitely don’t waste money on the AFTA Plan.

Car Shipping

Terrible company. Similar story as others, price more than doubled the day before. The driver took the car out of my driveway (keys were in it) without even knocking on my door to let me know. No pictures taken, a couple little knicks on the back bumper from loading the car and bumping the car behind it. Then they had the balls to call and ask for 100 dollar tip, are you kidding me! Stay clear of these guys!

Absolutely outstanding service!

Absolutely outstanding service from Henry Herrera at AmeriFreight!

From start to finish, Henry delivered a level of service that went well above and beyond expectations. He was incredibly professional, taking the time to thoroughly explain the entire shipping and delivery process. What really stood out to me was his flexibility—he worked around my schedule for both pick-up and delivery dates, making the entire experience smooth and stress-free.

Throughout the process, Henry provided exceptional customer service. He kept me informed at every step, patiently answered all my questions, and never left me wondering what was happening next. His attention to detail and proactive updates gave me complete peace of mind.

The carrier recommended by Henry was just as impressive. My car was delivered across the country in perfect condition—no scratches, no delays, nothing but a flawless delivery. It’s rare to find someone who combines professionalism, flexibility, and outstanding service so seamlessly.

If you’re looking for a reliable, customer-focused auto transport expert, Henry Herrera at AmeriFreight is the person to call. Highly recommended!

Poor customer service. Misleading price

Gave original quote of $699. Then called back the next day said they found a carrier for $995. When I asked about the carrier’s history and told them I would think about it. The guy told me “I will put a note in the account that after spending 15 minutes answer all his questions, he said he will think about it”. Before that the guy was very pushing me to take the offer. And we were on the phone 9 minimum 10 seconds. Not honest people.

Very poor customer service but it turned

I was able to have my car transported but the customer service was very bad. I was told very little information about the process, my emails were almost always ignored unless I called. Even then rarely was there any follow up. The communication about my ship date was non existant even the day of the shipment. I had to call repeatably to receive any information.

Completely messed up in two vehicle ship

We originally submitted an order 20771930 for two vehicles but somehow AmeriFreight messed up and only put one there when the driver is assigned. Michelle Blasingame then took over, who was very responsive, and created another order 20771953 for the second vehicle.

If the two orders ended up go to separate carriers, that's understandable. However, what was ridiculous was that the two vehicles were ended up assigned to the same carrier/driver and got shipped at the same time, but in two separate orders. Then why am I paying a much higher rate with double the insurance, for the mistake that AmeriFreight made?

Failure to Transport

I initiated a conversation with Angela from American Auto Transport. I called for a quote to transport my car from my home in CA to TX and I was quoted a little over $1370, she then said she could leave the price at $1300. I told her I needed time to think about
making a commitment. Finally, I committed to the the price and the next day Angela emailed me a contract. I filled out the electronic contract and I provided my credit card
number to be billed what I thought would be a $250 deposit. The rest of the money was to be paid in cash, Zelle, Venmo or Cashier check to the driver upon pick up in order to avoid an addition 9% fee for using my credit card. The next day in the morning Angela and her assistant Jennifer called me and they billed me $200 for the deposit
and said a driver would call me the morning of Friday (the next day) with a pick up time for my vehicle and an expected delivery of the vehicle in Texas on Tuesday (4 days later). Come Friday, I answered EVERY unknown phone call to my phone and the
driver never called.
