American Auto Transport (IL)

Pretty much the other reviews sums it up. American Auto Transport uses the worse shipping companies for example SDM Transport. They will not pick up your phone calls once you made the deposit and if you have problems with the shipping company that is transporting your vehicle, don't even bother calling them.

They quote a low price, with a high deposit. Then they take your deposit and offload you to a 3rd party carrier who requests more COD than initially agreed upon with the broker. Stay away!

After leaving me a quote and the claim that "I have a choice in business" I supposed my interaction with Victor was over. He left me a quote, I didn't have interest, so I have no obligation to continue the transaction. Not the case for Victor! He has been hounding me for a week, leaving incessant voicemails, emails, and text messages. It's under the guise of polite reminders, but I'm sorry, I'm not obligated to do business with you. And the awful harassment is only making me less and less interested. He doesn't give you the chance to mull over your options, only the constant barrage of "when will you hire me." Imagine going anywhere else and asking for the price on something, then have the sales person in your face demanding you to go to the register now that you've been given the price. I don't have anything to say about the quality of service with this company. I chose not to use them. But I largely chose that because Victor is frankly obnoxious. I was going to reply to him that I was no longer interested and to thank him for his time, but his extreme urgency and daily barrage of "did you get my call? Call me. I emailed you. Did you get my text?" Is so unbelievably off putting I'd rather not communicate at all. I'm sure the service is fine, but the communication is so overwhelming I have no intentions of continuing nor recommending to anyone at all.

DO NOT USE THIS TRANSPORT COMPANY!

I am a seasoned collector and restorer of classic motor cars from the 50s, 60s & 70s. I have been buying and selling cars, moving them all over the country and world-wide for more than 30 years. I have moved more than 150 cars within the US in just the last 3 years.

I engaged American Auto Transport Ph: 262-633-1020 to move a pristinely restored Rolls-Royce from Illinois to California. The car was purchased by a collector. I always book ENCLOSED because the cars are fully detailed and cleaned prior to delivery and it is a nice touch for the customer to receive the car in its immaculate condition.

American Auto Transport arrived to collect the car in the rain (not their fault) but would not allow our staff into the truck to wipe the car down once loaded, citing; "the car will have to be moved several times anyway so it will get dirty". Management was contacted advising the car MUST be delivered in its original clean state. Contact was ignored. The car arrived dirty and untidy (inside and out) . Someone, presumably the driver, wiped the car down with a wet and dirty rag and the paint had light scratches and was muddy and smudgy. This inside had sand on the carpets.

The transport company took no responsibility for their action, did not return calls and made no offer to contribute towards re-detailing the car.

They are rude and unprofessional and I highly advise anyone moving anything collectable or of value to avoid this transport company. Quite the disgrace.
