My daughter has had her belonings in storage with this company for some time. Her belongings were to be moved to SC. That move has been put on hold for now. She had given them almost $800 and was making her monthly payments on time every time. Now as she is trying to get her belongings out, they want an additional $450. So that $800 was for nothing even though she was paying $150 every month for the storage. At this time she is in Den with her dad who is in the hospital going through treatment for leukemia. This is a pretty pathetic way to treat a client but this company is supposedly veteran owned. My daughter is a disabled veteran. Very American??

My girlfriend hired them to move from Las Vegas to South Carolina, paid them almost 800.00, the move got cancelled and they was charging 150$ a month for storage which was paid on time never late, reached out to the company about picking up the iteams out of storage and the owner stated that it will almost 450$ more to pick up our iteams, now keep in mind 800$ was already paid and 150$ a month for storage that was paid every month on time, that is totally unacceptable, and to make matters worse we only live 13miles from this company.. Stay away from this company i would never ever recommend this company... There is nothing American about this company!!!!!

Ultimate bait and switch. Price was doubled when they showed up. Took 3+ weeks to deliver and found out it was in a warehouse in Vegas. Finally delivered (one man crew) and there were multiple items damaged. Worst moving experience of my life!

Absolutely WORST MOVING COMPANY EVER. They lost half my stuff some of which were precious family heirlooms. TV never arrived. Antique furniture all arrived damage. Some in literal pieces. Not repairable. I filled out a claim that was never made good on. Crooks. From a woman who has served veterans for many years. Shame on you. Take American out of your name. You don't deserve to carry it.

Long story short they charged us an extra $4550 than what was contractually agreed upon to ship our HHG. I was going through our items with the online merchant and he stated 'we will just sell you the equivalent of a whole truck which is 1700 cu ft. If you use more we'll charge more.' The day they picked up our items the supervisor present estimated we would have more than 1700 cu ft. I ended up having to work because the drivers were a day late and I could only be present for half of the move, leaving my wife there to watch them finish.



When they arrived for delivery almost 10 days later the first thing I looked at was how much space it took up on their trailer and it came right out to 1700 cu ft (I sent them photos showing their own markings in the trailer). As stated in our contract we would be charged $13087.86 for 1700 cu ft. We were charged an additional $4550 because Brittany said the movers recorded had more items than they originally estimated, but we weren't contracting for a quantity, it was for how much space we took up on their trailer. Ultimately they refused to adhere to the agreed upon space we had purchased through their online merchant and she could never give a straight answer why. When I tried to dispute this they threatened to take our items back to storage and charge us daily until we paid in cash, and then charge for the re-delivery. We would have done better to buy new furniture than to pay almost $20,000 to pack our own items and have them deliver it almost 10 days after we arrived at our house. Horribly dishonest company. I recommend AVOIDING American Home Movers.

No stars would be better. I was not told that the persons picking up my stuff were not going to be the ones delivering it. The delivery driver ( Mike) was a total a- hole. Insisted on getting payment before they unloaded everything. I would have liked to make sure all my belongings were ok and there BEFORE payment. The totes so had were put on the truck under heavier boxes and now the lids do not fit. The boxes I had were damaged to the point that clothes were coming out of them. The driver was putting small boxes on the trolley under bigger boxes. This moving company is a total s**t show.

American Home Movers is not a company you should do business with. They broke several of our lamps, a Duncan Pfyffe table, our storage/bench for our bedroom, lost three sets of flat ware including actual silver flatware, a pop up canopy, 8 boxes of ours with various items missing. Their response was from a claims company that would only say they use industry standard to determine the weight of the box since I didn't provide an actual weight of each box. In my opinion they do not have integrity and do not deal with their customers ethically. Find someone else to do your move if you value your items.

We had them pick up our stuff over a month ago and it has yet to be delivered. When we call no one answers or we are sent to a forwarding service. At this point we may need to get the police involved.
I strongly suggest you run away from this company.

This company has been terrible from start to finish, the only reasonable person throughout the process was Brittney, their dispatch woman.

As soon as the movers arrived, they coordinated how to organize everything and begin moving. When charging me for additional things, I questioned the pricing and the foreman said "So what you have money look at your house." The movers then proceeded to ding up many parts of the house, including taking chunks of my door off. While they do say the move itself can take up to 21 business days, they tell you it never takes near that long, and our move took 3 weeks exactly to get our belongings after sitting in their warehouse.

The movers finally get to the destination and they're late. The delivery guys were different than the loaders, so I was more hopeful. When bringing things up the elevator, they did mostly fine until the glass. They slammed the glass boxes down so hard it broke most of them on the spot including memorabilia. Worst of all, they bring up my new 8K TV and it's the only one they broke! I can't even use it anymore. When I pointed it out to the younger mover he just shrugged, no apology or anything. Finally, the 4th TV is missing along with many boxes.

All moving companies are going to have some issues, but this one has them all. Don't spend a penny with American Home Movers.

After being in the certified regulated household moving industry for 20 years, I was unsure of using one of these budget outfit movers. Signed up got some good rates from a company in Florida ( turned out to be broker who booked it) but pack in load company would be out Las Vegas, where i was moving from. Had most my dealings with a lady named Brittany in the office. Schduled a date with them to go to my storage unit, whre the small one bedroom furniture and bxes had already been packed, furniture padded and shrink wrapped ready to go for about 6 months.......they loaded it and explained they be hauler and delivery in Texas. Cost changed a lottle due to gong by cubic feet verses weight. Wasn't bad cost to me and still cheaper than a van lines. I was somewhat really skeptical and scared. It arrived in Texas more like 4 weeks than 3 as promised, but Eric the fellow who deliverred it I could tell was professional and did super job as 1 man.......everything looked pretty good and glass not broke and furniture seem good, as went back into storage. All of them were 5 star, Brittany, Eric and 3 LV crew members. Would use them again!!

Let me start this company doesn't care about you and your stuff if I know this from the beginning I would never hire them! They left holes in my belongings and my collectibles where broken! The guy they send out to move my stuff was one this was a multiple person job he seemed drunk or high and took multiple smoke breaks! He dropped my boxs with glass stuff and broke stuff he dented the walls he scratched the wood floors! He broke my mirror for my dresser and didn't but but the screws in my bed when putting it together! My family members chase him down the street telling him he wasn't done with the job! They don't care and except a tip are you kidding! The stuff look like it was moved from multiple trucks with dirt all over it! Be upset is understatement! And the price went up 5 times!

I tried to write a review of everything that happened but Yelp said the review was too long. Lol.

This "company" if you can call it that is definitely not legitimate. They charged my mother in law twice as much as they quoted and only raised the price after they had picked up her belongings. They broke more items than what would be reasonably expected. They damaged a wall and a floor in my home. They did not do anything they said they would do (call 30 mins prior to arriving on delivery day, puts beds together etc.) the 1st words they said after entering my home was "I need to collect" The balance due was $3482.50, I gave them $3,480 cash since that's the only payment they accept and told them my mother in law had $3 singles for them downstairs. They immediately went downstairs to get the $3 and then came upstairs mad that she was in the bathroom. I found a $5 bill to give them and they got started only to still ask her for the $3 when they went downstairs again. Laughable joke of a company. Please save yourself the headache and heartache and use a legitimate moving company.

They only accept cash or Zelle and not debit cards. (Cash only on day of delivery no Zelle)

They told my 70 year old mother in law "f*** you!" Because she wanted the damaged items noted on the delivery sheet they asked her to sign.

I have nothing better to do. I will spend the next year of my life blasting this company on every forum available and am committed to spending $2-$3k on online advertisements to get the word out about how terrible they are!

Used this service to relocate from Bay Area to North Carolina.
The person (Mike) who gave me the quote is an awesome agent. He took care of everything and gave me a competitive quote. The person who was in billing department was also an awesome person (Brittainy) who helped me to sort out the billing issue. She also gave me proper discounts.
The biggest issue was the person who came to pick up the household goods from home. He was not so professional. He didn't maintain the inventory list properly. He didn't packed certain items properly as a result I lost some items and some items were damaged on arrival. So I need to file a claim and waiting for my claim to be processed.
My overall satisfaction is OK. I will recommend to other people if they can improve the pick up service.

I wrote a previous review with a one star, because of our experience with the move from California to Las Vegas wasn't so great. The insurance that comes with the service basically is nonexistent. I would suggest, if you do use any moving company to get the premium coverage if you have expensive valuable.

Customer service is very important to us. I have dealt with Brittainy a few times. She's very helpful, understanding, and eager to help solve a problem. We really appreciate that she reaching out to us about the complaint, and wants to make things right. This is above and beyond the customer service you get these days.

I want to say, "Thank you, Brittainy and manager for fixing our experience."

Sorry to say wasn't the smoothest move ever, the guys wrapped my furniture carefully,I packed my own boxes, but the driver called me 8pm and asked if I knew of anyone who needed money (to help me move in) once they got there at 9pm, the driver informed me he wouldn't carry my bed upstairs, (part of the contract) thank god for his helpers ,who did carry it up. I had to set it up myself (I am disabled) My recliner was damaged, a tote was crushed, a bookcase was caved in. My experience with Brittany was excellent, she walked me thru the claims process and put me at ease, stayed friendly the whole time. The world needs more people like her! Eve was also very helpful, which was one of the reasons I selected American Home Movers.She was very helpful, All in all, I'm satisfied, but the late night delivery was a bit much...

Do not use this company. There are plenty of other moving companies, use anyone else.

I was quoted approx. $2000 to move across the country. Ended up paying $4000! I believe they give you a low quote on purpose. When the movers loaded up my house, turns out I went way over the space quoted. The movers agreed with me, said they have never loaded a house that didn't go over. Meaning everyone has had to pay more than quoted but at this point it's too late, all my things are on the truck. I had to pay the extra. THEN...I find out that they charge you per flight of stairs. They will not unload your items unless you pay them in cash for each flight of stairs.

The guys loading and unloading the truck were very nice and kind. Tried to help me save money where they could. One guy even said, let's try to keep these fees down because let's be honest only the fat cats at the top will see this money.

However, my items were not well cared for. Several broken small items. Glasses, tea cups, etc. Perhaps I should have used more bubble wrap but a well handled box and I believe these would have made it safe and sound. There were several large pieces of furniture that they should have taken better care of. I have a cabinet case that is tweeted out of shape and can no longer put the dwarves in. My coffee table was broken which is a high disappointment as it was my
Grandmother's and sentimental. My bike was clearly just shoved in the van. The bike handles snapped and the brakes no longer work. I have to replace it.

The movers told me I could file a report but not to expect much and after talking with this company, I agree. It would be a waste of my time. I feel defeated.

This company picked up my belongings from CA on 5/27/2016. I was told my things would be delivered to my new home in TN between 7 to 10 business days. I have now been in my new home almost 2 weeks and it has been 17 days since my belongings were picked up in CA. Yesterday I called and was given the "delivery" phone number. When I talked to that person I was told that my things were sitting in a delivery truck in Las Vegas and she could not give me a firm delivery date!
This company is perfectly happy to take your deposit (1/3 of the whole amount due) They are happy to pick up your belongings (another 1/3 of the cost of delivery) but they are in NO HURRY to make sure your things get to your new house in a timely fashion. Would I use this company again? Oh hell no!!!

The package was delivered in good condition. Their quotes are competitive. However, the dispatch at the delivery was very rude. They are shady when it comes to charging customer with the 75 feet. The dispatch will not measure the actually distance from the truck to pickup however attempts to rip off customer plus bold enough to ask for delivery.

They delivered the inventory late by 4 days but refused to give any discount. Read the contract carefully and ask for discount. Customer service is responsive.
