They stopped taking my calls when the rig that had my vehicle on it broke down. Totally irresponsible. Do not expect anything from this company once you give them their cut ($350). Absolutely terrible experience.

The service was around $1100 total from MD to CA.

Everything was fine until the day before pickup when I was told that I would need to meet the driver at a location 15 mins from my house.



It was a grocery store because supposedly my street was too small for the truck to fit. Admittedly, the truck was huge, however, there were plenty of places closer that we could have met. Additionally, this step in the process should have been disclosed way sooner than the day before in order for me to make arrangements. I booked the service weeks out.



Lastly, Lisa told me that an Uber would be paid for by the driver for me to get back home because of the inconvenience. Then, the driver predicted that I over packed the car past 100 lbs and gave me an ultimatum of paying $50 for it OR paying for my own uber!! He hadn't even weighed anything but said that he could tell by looking :(





All in all, my car arrived a few days early and in good condition. I did need to again drive to a location other than the drop off address given.

Not just any driver, one that doesn't have a BOL, arrives a day late without any communication, and picked up a car that was supposed to be run/start, but without a BoL, no proof of that. The company told me they picked it up one day, the delivery people said they picked it up the following day. All I get are apologies. I don't care how sorry you are. I expect compensation when your company miscommunicates, and hires inept/possibly illegal drivers. I won't tell anyone to use this company. Absolutely terrible experience.

I asked for only a $200 refund since the service provided was their standard service, but they wouldn't budge even after I file a complaint with the BBB. I had it in writing from the agent that the pick up was for a specific day, I showed it to them and they said the standard language of the contract provided no guarantees. They refused to show me the contract. Go with Montway if you need to ship a vehicle. They warned me about companies making false promises and overcharging, and they were right.

We had a horrible experience trying to find a reputable transportation company to transport a 17,000 pound truck from Arizona to Oklahoma that we had just purchased.



I signed up on a site to get quotes, did not notice sellers DOT number was still visible, which allowed transport companies to look up dot number and obtain companies name and phone number, transport companies started contacting the seller to arrange pick up, outside of the site I was using to get bids, misleading the seller as if they were the hired transport company. This made the process more stressful, and caused confusion with the seller.



Quotes I received on the website ranged from $2600-$3300.00 to transport the truck. Pick up window averaged up to 7 days after transport as booked.



Each company that responded, I checked their reviews on BBB/google, their business registration on Secretary of State in the state they were located, and checked the operating status on FMCSA site. I was surprised to see horrible reviews on BBB, and some unprofessional responses from the companies and some brokerages/transport companies had no authorization status on FMCSA



I happened to come across Amerifreight on google by accident! I checked BBB (4.8 rating), S.O.S (active/in compliance) and FMCSA (authorized brokerage). I was interested in speaking with them; they had the best history by far on BBB, authority on FMCSA.



I called and spoke with Lisa Henderson. She was the most informative agent I spoke with, very upfront about what her company does and what to expect during the process. They only use companies with 4.5 star rating, they vet each company before they are assigned. She reassured me that she would be with me through the entire process, from arranging transport, pick up, and delivery. After I signed up with Amerifreight, with in a couple of hours Lisa had found a transport company, that could pick up the truck the following day (12/6/23) eta arrival 12/7/2023 for $1415.00, requiring a $315 deposit at time of booking, and remainder paid to transport company.



Due to shady transport companies bothering the seller, Lisa went a step further and arranged for seller to contact transport company to arrange pick up time to ensure the truck was released to the correct company.



After seller made contact with transport company set up pick up time at noon on 12/6/2023. I immediately received an update, the driver reached out and introduced himself. When driver showed up to load the truck he called me to confirm last 6 digits of vin to ensure correct truck was being loaded. I inquired about ETA a couple hours later for following day, attempt to arrange for someone to be at the shop, driver responded promptly eta 1-2pm, would let me know better eta in the morning. First thing the next morning I received an update transport would arrive around 2:00pm, which ended up being the time of arrival. Truck was unloaded quickly, no issues, guy was nice, professional, thorough at the time of drop off.



Lisa kept her word and checked in randomly to ensure we had no concerns during transport!



I'm very pleased with my experience with Amerifreight and transport company. They worked together, went above and beyond to ensure our experience was great!

I do not recommend this place whatsoever. Gave them a months notice to ship cars, when the date was getting closer I began to worry, many calls to them went unanswered with no call back.
Donna is useless, maybe time for her to retire cuz shes out of it. I called 3 days before the car was to be shipped as DONNA never followed up with me only to have her text me ALL IN CAPS, with her BS story.
3 days before cars due to ship price increased, almost double.
Dont even think of this poorly run place if you are looking to ship your car.
I found another place same day that DONNA SHOUTED at me and guess what? They picked up my cars next day.
Go to anger management Donna and def take some classes on customer service, you are in need of both, texting customers all in CAPS proves it
Look at all the reviews, more bad than good and check out BBB complaints also.

Do not use Amerifreight to transport your vehicle. I shopped and compared
every way possible. The actual carrier they contracted was Diesel Auto Express. I took pictures and a video. I turned over a vehichle clean of any damage. I bought the addl damage coverage from Amerifreight.
Upon receiving my vehichle, damage was spotted as it was still sitting on the transporter, the driver acknowledged the damage and documented it on the papers. Filed a claim, Amerifreight denied it, the additional coverage policy was denied as there is always a loophole where carriers are involved. The actual carrier denied it also, even though they signed the document and pictures documented the damage. Do not hire either company to transport your vehichle, there are reputable carriers out there, not Amerifreight or Diesel Auto Express.

I didn't have any of the issues that some of the reviewers posted. I spoke to Richard' Roach, my Amerifreight representative, and he negotiated a very fair price competitive with all other companies. The price locked in and never changed. He also managed my entire car transport from the SF Bay Area to Denver. He kept in close communication with the trucking company. When the car was delayed by 48 hours on the delivery side, he made sure that they stepped up and delivered earlier. Richard acted as my agent and made the process seamless for me. I will use them again if the need arises. Very satisfied customer.

Reached out for a quote on 4/28, gave authorization to source on 5/2. I called multiple times after not hearing back about my car. It wasn't until the week of shipment (5/29) that I heard anything back, but it was only because I reached out. They continued to do business over the phone discussing prices through text but no official invoice/breakdown. The price they gave me over the phone was $400+ more than the original quote given. 24 hours prior to when I needed my car shipped, I still had no information on a carrier/contact information/confirmation of pickup date/address but they surely charged a $300+ deposit. I called again to ask about the possibility of a refund (because I was looking at other shipment companies due to the experience so far) and was told I would not be eligible for a refund on the deposit (and apparently it was on the contract that I didn't see) I was told that she'll send the carriers contact info in an email, the carriers info was blank in the email but she assured me everything was fine. I hung up confused only to received a call back 10 minutes later by the same woman saying that she scrolled down further on my profile and saw that the carrier assigned had cancelled their shipment with me therefore I was eligible for a refund. I quickly said yes to the refund and that followed up by emails offering a $186 discount if I came back and continued business with them (very tempting..). I do not recommend this company unless you're extremely flexible with dates and possible cancellations, I was not. Montway was able to take care of my needs.

Good on the phone customer representative conversant with all details and good with replies to questions and uncertainty.

Quoted me a price over the internet that was wildly low (60% of actual), so felt a bit of disappointment over this not accidental discrepancy. Further promised was a day before call for the pickup window. Here I sit at noon on the pickup day, having also called the actual transport company, and I remain entirely uninformed.

Promises made, not really delivered. Wonder if it will be the same for the vehicle. Not happy by a long shot

I had a great experience with AmeriFreight transport. I had a car transported from CA to Ok. The price was decent, customer service was very informative and answered all my questions. They connected me with a great transporter that was in communication with me directly, he was on time for pick up and delivery. The rig looked nice, well taken care of and the driver was friendly and took great care of my car and all the belongings inside. I will definitely use this service again and recommend to anyone needing an auto transporter.

I read the other Amerifreight reviews about a bait and switch and it happened to me. They quoted me a price to transport my car across the nation and then after getting me to agree to use their services - they nearly doubled the quote. Couldn't believe it was nearly double. I told them I was going to take my business to another broker and I did and they met their quote.

Had my car delivered from Ohio to CA. They were fast at securing a driver. They are a broker company who charges $350 as a brokerage fee. Communication was good throughout. Docked 1 star because the truck driver was aggressive and snapped at me when I asked him about a minor scratch. He yelled, "just get your car and go". Company should probably review training and service etiquette with him. Car came very dirty but just glad there wasn't any major concerns.

I try to be fair with my reviews. Here are the reasons I docked a couple of stars.
My pick up date was 2/24/23 (Friday) and ETA delivery of Friday 3/03, and I was informed that my vehicle would be picked up between a certain window and that this transport company was one of the best. Great! The LOCAL broker driving a vehicle bed behind his truck picked up my vehicle. I had no idea that an 18 wheeler was not picking up my vehicle. The male spoke broken English and he was difficult to understand. I had my grandfather with me and he asked, "where is the big truck?" I told him, "I don't know. I thought a big truck was coming to drive it off." I had personal belongings in my vehicle. All sentimental. So it made me extremely nervous that my car was going to be driven to the third party company's lot. CA Auto express in Ontario, CA. By the way they don't lock your car during transport to their location because the alarm will go off. I called auto express to ask if they could be sure the driver locked my doors. I checked Google maps and I don't see that the lot is gated but who knows how old that map photo is BUT Amerifreight claims all of their "terminals" are secure. Anyways, the dispatcher said he would make sure. I asked when my vehicle would depart? He said mid week, Wednesday. I had no idea my car would be sitting at their lot for 5 DAYS. Amerifreight didn't relay that information to me. Dispatch said for weather reasons. I called Amerifreight and spoke with my account Rep, because I informed her I had no idea that a LOCAL broker picks up my vehicle and she claimed she had no idea they did that, but she was sure as all positive that this company is one of the best, but she didn't know a local broker picks up your vehicle? Hmmm. Okay.
Oh and by the way! Ca auto express claims they will call you a day before the vehicle leaves, so they should have called on Tuesday 2/28. Nope! I called Wednesday and the new pick up date from the driver was going to be Friday 3/03 and the driver would would drop off on 3/06 or 3/07. Dispatcher said he would call Friday. No phone call. I called them no answer because their offices were already closed. I called Amerifreight, they couldn't get through. My rep, Carovan set up a new order for another driver but it was for an estimated 3/06-3/13... lol!! Come on!! I was so Ready to cancel my order altogether. My dad told me not to-to see what happens. There is such a huge lack of communication between Ca Auto Express, Amerifreight and the customer. I don't even know why to even bother going through Amerifreight? Oh! Carovan said she would call on Saturday, she didn't. She didn't follow up on Saturday. Nope! I found out my car was on the road on Saturday because of my AirTag!! So I had to call and spoke with Rosie and she called back to let me know the driver is on the road.

I will give one star for Carovan's attempt to try to find me another driver and another star for my vehicle getting to my place in one piece and nothing taken from my car or so I hope. I haven't gone through all of my belongings.

Ca auto express has terrible reviews by itself. Amerifreight- it's mostly positive.

So ask questions before you get with Amerifreight. #1 should be- is an 18 wheeler picking up my car or is it going to sit in a 3rd party lot for days? or I guess they refer to as terminal. Overall my vehicle sat in their lot for a week. Amerifreight was willing to give me a full refund had i chosen a different company instead of Amerifreight- so that was nice. I did pick up my car. I'm happy it's now with me. The driver called an hour before and 10-12 minutes and again to give me time. Why bother with Amerifreight or Third party- just give me the driver's number. I just received a text from my account rep, here's how you guys did. I don't recommend.

I recommend a different transport or if you do go with Amerifreight- make sure it's not Cal Auto Express. Ask questions! All i want is transparency and communication.

Complaint Details
My vehicle was picked up on on November 28th at 7:20pm. On this date the broker who we were speaking to was Melissa Dossett told us to have the vehicle ready by 3pm that it would be picked up. 3pm came around and we heard nothing for anyone and were trying to contact the company. Hours later after trying to contact the carrier multiple times not sure if there was going to be a pickup. We then received a call from the driver late at night when it was dark. My husband was told to drive the car onto the ramp of this trailer and had to get down off the ramp himself which seemed really risky. Communication up until this point was horrendous. They took our $350 deposit and then just left us in the dark. The remainder $2000 needed to be paid in cash upon drop off of the vehicle. We were told that there was a guarantee our vehicle would be dropped off on the 1st or 2nd of December in Virginia. The pick up was in Redding California to Virginia Beach. On Thursday the 1st we received a notification that the vehicle would be arriving on friday the 2nd and with little regard the company went dark and didn't notify us again until friday saying that the driver was stuck in Nebraska. That didn't make sense if we received an update the day prior that it would arrive tomorrow because thats more than a days travel. When we reached out to Melissa Dossett her response was "Our Job is Done" when we were trying to see how she would make this right. That was the last we heard from her. This company hasn't held to its core values that as a business they care about more than just the car. (Photo attached) We were nothing but a transaction nothing was relational at all. To add to it the driver took our car straight through the tree branches(Photos attached) and scratched the side of the car right in front of us as he pulled away.

This contract is under halee Fleming. If you look at the email you sent us in the images on the email it says Ashley Vega as well. Then it has Melissa information/signature at the bottom. So I am not sure why we are acting like I don't exist. I have all the evidence and more. The vehicle that was picked up is Ashley Vegas. Ashley vega signed with the driver and company upon pickup of the vehicle hence the photos and order number. We can either file another complaint through halee Fleming or we can stop acting like Ashley Vegas vehicle wasn't picked up.

Halee Fleming will file a complaint if we don't settle this now. She's reached out to Melissa as well as I and this company has poor communication and still hasn't done what they said they would.

We can either settle this on this complaint or we will settle it on Halee Fleming's? Seems like you guys are stalling and it's really unprofessional. We will leave a review with all photos on every platform if this is how it's going to be.

I will update this review once there is a solution.

Pay attention folks! They are known for this! They have a 50/50 track record almost. It's not worth it!

Update December 17th: they finally refunded the$315 deposit but our damages far exceed that. They reached out to the driver Anton V. Who doesn't speak English and he said he will not refund.

Next will be small claims court. I will keep you updated.

I can NOT recommend this company. Poor communication and bait and switch tactics. It took 19 days from accepting the estimate with their preferred priority rate ("1-3 days for the vehicle to be picked up") to receive the vehicle from Michigan to California.

It took a full week to get a carrier's quote for the vehicle to even be picked up. According to them, "The Priority rate is used when you have less time, about 1-3 days, for your vehicle to be picked up. It is priced at the market rate for similar vehicles on your route." So this was already days longer than they communicated.

The cost of the carrier that I was told was already in the area and could pick up the vehicle that same day was considerably more than the original estimate, but I agreed thinking the vehicle would then be picked up that day (Friday) as I was told. Classic bait and switch. The vehicle was never picked up that day. I had made special arrangements for the vehicle to be picked up and had to call AmeriFreight to find out what was going on which became an inconvenience. It took a while to get a response. I was then told that the driver never received the message to pick it up so it was out of their hands. So I would have to wait until after the holiday weekend when the driver would pick up the vehicle on that Tuesday.

The vehicle was actually not picked up until that Thursday. The actual vehicle never arrived until the following Monday evening. In fact, AmeriFreight stopped responding to my emails and I had to deal with the driver directly, who stated that he was having truck problems. The vehicle did arrive finally and was in good condition thus the 2-star rating.

I really feel that once they had my deposit and the transporter picked up the vehicle they stopped caring about the order. My representative said she would speak to her supervisor about this but she has yet to respond with an answer as I don't feel it's fair that I paid for priority shipping and only received economy service. If it took this long they should have honored the original estimate.

These people will quote you 1100 and the. Tell you pay 1900 plus pay them 350. Total rip off. The girl Brandy Dejesus actually hung up on me when I asked why the rate was more than twice the quote. They practice the old school bait and switch in hopes your desperate. Do your self a favor and deal with a honest and professional company, not them... wasn't even going to write a review until I woke up to the same quite from them in a new email. AmeriFreight damaged our car and cost us thousands of dollars when their truck struck another vehicle at 70 mph also damaging several other cars onboard. AmeriFrieght's driver told us there was no damage and that the car was inspected. This was a lie. The car was not checked by any professional. Our car's suspension was completely destroyed.

AmeriFreight has ignored us and has cost us thousands of dollars. We were looking forward to starting in a new city but now we are financially struggling and stressed out because AmeriFreight has put us into debt.

Below is the official police report which is public information it shows that AmeriFreight damaged 8 cars as well as 2 semi trucks. The police ranked a "Most Harmful Event" and the driving was so reckless that drug and alcohol tests had to be administered. Will update review to see if AmeriFreight ever reimburses us or not. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this company. I do not trust them.

Would give one star if I could.
In all my history of making big purchases online (including international) I have never been asked by a company to "upload a photo of my credit card front and back to verify I won't charge them back." When asked about the reason why, I got "oh don't worry the email is sent through military grade encryption."
If I didn't use a credit card they would accept cash or western union transfer only which in both cases doesn't protect the buyer.

In what case does a company have to try so hard to not get charge-backs?

They also quoted me two times the amount they initially quoted me, just an unprofessional business all around.
