I bought a truck from a dealership in California and was overwhelmed by the process of finding a good auto transport broker that was reliable, recommended, legit and local. I was very skeptical of the massive businesses who blew up my phone and are still sending me countless emails; these corporations tended to have horrible reviews online. I was also wary of and didn't trust the smaller businesses with different DBAs who quoted me prices that seemed too good to be true then I couldn't find their information under the DOT registry; these had no reviews online.

Eventually I figured out the average estimate provided by the mediocre big transporters and I decided to give a local business listed on Yelp a try. I'm so glad that I found Coastal Auto Shipping! The staff are very professional, courteous, prompt, honest, low-pressure and true to their word. The entire experience was positive, reassuring and pleasant. I don't see how any clients could rate them anything less than 5 stars. The guys are all about excellent customer service, accurate information prior to shipping your vehicle, total peace of mind with picking up your car once on island.

I will absolutely be hiring this business again in the future and referring them to my friends. I'm glad that I chose not to buy a car on island from a local dealership; I found exactly what I wanted on the mainland for far less and even after paying shipping still saved $$$$ compared to what it would have cost me here in town. Coastal Auto Shipping helped tremendously and I highly recommend their services to you.

If you are looking for a reliable vehicle transport to the mainland this company is good. Communication was a big factor in my rating of this

company. I trusted them as this was a big undertaking for both the

transport company and myself. The manager did a good job of helping

me understand how things work and how the transport goes from

California to Virginia. All I can say is ask more questions, stay on top

of the transport, and follow up with daily emails. The lack of

communication was bad from my standpoint as I did everything that

was asked of me to do. The total for transport of my vehicle was about

$6000.00. Just be mindful when sending a vehicle.

Not sure how this company has 5 stars but shipping my motorcycle and truck from Maui to San Diego was a nightmare. Richard didn't seem to know what was going on and when shit was going wrong. He was out of the office. It okay took about 2.5 months and 2 flights to Maui to get my vehicles shipped. It did finally make it to where I needed it go but god damn was it painful. For the amount of money I paid I would have expected a smooth experience. It was far from it. So Richard. Hope your price gouging and non existent knowledge for what's going on gets better. You Fucken suck dude. Sorry not sorry. Worst experience I've ever had to deal with with any company.

I decided to use Coastal Auto Shipping after seeing not only the great reviews here on Yelp but reviews from familiar faces. I figure I could trust this shipper if people I actually know used them and had positive experiences. Well, I guess I had the bad luck of the draw.

Customer service was not that great to begin with but I still decided to continue with the service since again, everyone else's reviews were positive.

Next they tried to rip me off by adding a few hundred dollars when they collected the "first" deposit. When I questioned the amount, they corrected it to what I was initially quoted.

Most reviews said they got their vehicle a week earlier or just earlier in general. Not me! I got my car almost a week later than the estimated time given. Although it was not the company's fault for the delay. It was their fault for not communicating the delay to me. Especially since I requested for updates on when the vehicle would be available for delivery to the destination.

But then I get a call a couple hours before the car arrived saying the driver will be there soon. This was an issue because we were at work therefore we had to take off early to receive the car. Once we got home from leaving early at work, we get another call asking to meet the transporter in an area because they were afraid they wouldn't fit the roads to our place. When we met up with the driver, I couldn't unload my frustration on the poor guy cause he was just doing his job. So what else could I do? Write this review of course!

So, first, the car was transported from a home in Sacramento to Oakland Port using a 3rd party company, loaded onto a Matson Ship, and then shipped to Honolulu Port. Not only that, but Coastal coordinated the car being picked up earlier than normal to accommodate my vacation (not being at home). Things could have gone wrong anywhere along the process. However, dealing with Richard Garcia was a smooth experience. He was always responsive to my texts and emails and kept me up to speed on the process. My car arrived on schedule without a hitch in Honolulu where I was able to pick it up ... again, a pretty easy process. The only delay was the time between when the car arrived in Honolulu Port and when I was notified that the car was available for pick up. But that could also have been because there was a 4th of July holiday in between. All in all, I am very satisfied with the service accorded me by Richard and Coastal Auto Shipping. I would have no reservations using them again!!

I ran into an issue with services provided, but that was quickly resolved and appreciate their manager giving me a direct call to resolve it. Their customer service is exceptional, being very responsive through calls and emails. I was updated through the whole process and they answered all of my questions along the way.

Shipped a vehicle from the mainland to Hawaii. Was told to charge my car to 100% but once it reached the port in LB was told that they could not take my car in due to the percentage being too high. I had to run my ac all day and night to get it down to the needed % which was not only a waste but wear and tear on my car as well. Communication could've been so much better. I also may have forgotten to remove items under my trunk area which is now missing and they only left a note and never once reached out to me about it. It would be great to get my stuff back (which was mostly shoes) I'd even pay for the shipping, but no one even notified me that they were removing anything from my car. Only thing that was great was the time in which I received my vehicle in Hawaii, which was pretty quick. Most likely will not be using this company next time, rather just go straight through Matson or Pasha.

Had my car shipped to Hawaii. Gerson Fernandez is the man! He answered all my questions. Didn't pressure sale me into using his business. After reading all the great reviews and the quote was lower than most auto shippers, I decided to go with Coastal Auto Shipping. It was my first time handling such a big move by myself and he helped me through the whole process even when questions I asked may have sounded repetitive. He was patient and a pleasant person to work with. To the day, I signed up and the day I dropped my car off at the port in Oakland. Coastal Auto Shipping was with me throughout the process. Car was shipped by Matson to Hawaii and arrived with no issues. Oh it also arrived earlier than it's ETA! I would highly recommend using Coastal Auto Shipping!

Booked the shipment with Richard and once I paid the booking fee I got radio silence. These guys only work to get their brokers fee and then won't do the rest of their job. Super unprofessional and terrible at trying to help connect with drivers that are coming to pick up your car. Their excuse is "that's not their job". They're rude, unprofessional and lazy. My car arrived in perfect condition though but that's due to the third party shipping company that picked up the bid. The company was Affordable Auto Shipping and their service was great, I'd try and work directly with them if you could. Id look elsewhere than book with these jokes. - since I can't respond to the business owners comment, you think I'd actually use my real name so you guys could come after me? Noooooo thanks ahah. Take your scams elsewhere.

I did research before shipping my car from Hawaii to Washington. I selected Coastal Auto Shipping and I couldn't have been happier. Alex Duran was very responsive and the quote he gave was very competitive. I was booked for a port to door shipment and everything went smoothly. My car arrived without issue and I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to ship their vehicle.

Shipped 2 cars from Hawaii to Florida. It was not a good experience at all. Bad communication and follow up from the company and the cars were late and arrived damaged. To top it off, they sent someone who spoke zero English to drop off the vehicles and the guy got aggresive with us to the point where we thought we were going to have to call the police. It was truly insane, I have never had to deal with such terrible customer service in my entire life, then we had to pay him a ton of cash for my damaged car with no resolution as of yet. It is expensive to ship cars, choose someone else who will treat you well and care about what happens to your vehicle when having to spend that kind of money.

AVOID! Scammers, no communication, shady business practices.

Shipped my car from Honolulu Hawaii to Charleston South Carolina and everything seemed ok at first, but quickly went bad. Booking was easy, I was explained the total would be broken into 3 separate payments for which I could use my card. Fast forward to the day of drop off, easy peasy, it's sent on its way. But after that there is ZERO way to track the status of your vehicle and the communication is so poor. I finally get told hey your car is in transit and can be picked up in a few days, driver will contact you. The driver calls and I can hardly understand him. But he tells me to meet the next day with $1000 cash...uhm, what? Yes, I was aware I needed to pay upon pick up but I was exclusively told by the manager that my card could be used for all 3 payments. I didn't have access to a grand cash. So I call the manager up and explain and he gets super short with me and treats me like I'm a scumbag, "you knew you had to pay, what's the problem?!" UH NO. I'm paying, just not with cash & if that's an issue you need to tell people beforehand! I couldn't even believe how rude this guy was, and how unprofessional the driver was. I almost wasn't able to get my car because they refused my payment, but thankfully last second I grabbed my car. I hated this experience, I hate that I have this trash company even a penny of my money.

So I called coastal auto shipping and spoke with Gerson like everyone else here. We connected on the fact that I moved my car from Florida (diff company) where the company is based, I was looking to relocate again. He quoted me a price and then did the "but since you're blah blah blah" and took a little bit off the price. I told him I would shop around a bit more, he called back later to find out if I had any better prices, which I did, he decided to drop the price again saying he realized the car is small and it wouldn't take up too much space. Again, I just went along with the salesman pitch because I'm sure he knew the size of the car already since he's been in the business so long. Anyway I decided to go along with the company because I admired his dedication. I told him I was going to have my uncle take care of the payment because I wanted it to be one less thing I had to pay for. So he goes ahead and makes a booking with matson "to save a spot." My uncle takes a couple of days to send in his payment information but he finally does. The day comes to drop off my car and the lady tells me I owe $870.00. When I questioned Gerson on why the payment wasn't already taken care of with my uncles information, his response was " I'm pretty sure I told you there would be 3 separate payments." I ended up paying $870 out of my pocket when the whole entire point of waiting on my uncles payment information was BECAUSE I DID NOT WANT TO PAY. I'm 100% positive he could have paid for the port payment online. I did not have to do this when I shipped my car to Hawaii. So next, I tell him the car is scheduled to arrive in Cali on the 12th and asked will it still actually make it to Dallas like we originally anticipated. He said yes that would still be the plan it should arrive the same day I land, the 14th, it sounded pretty impossible but I just went with it. Soooo the 13th comes along and I get a call from Gerson who tells me, because Matson was late to the port by a day now my delivery was behind by two days. Now logically, by his earlier calculation how does one day late to the port equal to two days late delivery. Two days later come and I call the driver personally who tells me I have to wait another two days -_- now I must hold my breath and hope he actually does since I start work on that day.

UPDATE: after this review, magically the driver contacts me and says he'll be on his way in an hour and I have to pay $400 at delivery so once again I'm perplexed. I speak with Alex, the manager of Coastal Auto Shipping. He explains to me the reason behind not having this payment taken care of is because they would need a credit card authorization form in order to take care of that payment. Something I would think would have been explained since day 1 when I uttered the words of my uncle taking care of the payment for me. He tried offering to have that credit card authorization done right away so I wouldn't have to worry about it but I refused because I knew it would be a hassle getting in touch with my uncle again. He also explained to me that the payment couldn't have been done online only over the phone and only worth authorization. Went online and saw that indeed it could have been done online. So yeah, mission save money Failed. Oh and thank you Alex for trying to fix things, my situation is unusual I'm sure but could have definitely been handled differently.

As long as you don't expect amazing customer service, they will do! They got the car 1,200 miles for me in two days and in once piece for a reasonable price. Can't complain!

So this company had over 2 1/2 weeks to ship my car from PA to MS and could not get it accomplished. The worst part was the communication. They said they would be there and no one showed up without even a phone call and when we tried to call, no one answered. This happened so many times and eventually we had to cancel the order and had to have my mom drive down my car for me. Would not recommend using this company as they are unreliable and the communication is terrible.
