Given the short notice and Christmas holidays, the price was reasonable. I was worried about delays but they picked up the cars on the right day and delivered them on the right day. You have to be flexible with the time. Overall was a good experience and would recommend to others.

Henry was an absolute nightmare to deal with and ended up canceling my transport because he felt like I was "questioning him". I did ask questions lol but I thought one could do that as a customer. I thought if they got my car to my destination safely, the customer service wouldn't matter, but it was beyond customer service. Henry was downright disrespectful.

Henry called to go over details for my car transport and I had a quick question about whether or not I could request a driver. This question was met with an argumentative retort about him having a great yelp review and how he has the competency to choose a proper driver, whether or not, it's requested. I then responded calmly with a simple, "I'm just asking a question sir."

I only asked to request a driver because one person on yelp had rave reviews about a particular driver that took their car from and to the same destinations I had. But that's neither here nor there; I'm allowed to ask questions as a patron of a business. Yes, Henry called when he said he would, but to be met with such rudeness when I'm spending money is absurd.

While I'm spending about $400 extra than most other companies, one would expect top tier customer service. Henry called back to confirm that the driver was confirmed but completely rushed me to make the payment. I'm in the middle of shopping at Walmart, don't have my card in hand and I felt completely rushed. So much so that he kept saying, "I'm ready. I'm ready. to which I wanted to reply, " Well clearly I'm not." (But I didn't because I wanted to keep cool.)

Then he takes my card information and hangs up abruptly, like immediately after he took my card info. I thought the call had dropped but no, he just hung up on me. And then when I called back to see what happened, he said, "Oh, I didn't hear you respond so I hung up." Didn't even give me a chance to respond before he hung up on me... after taking my damn card information.

No one wants to make a transaction with their card information over the phone with no documentation sent prior and then be hung up on. And the fact that no documentation was sent was also odd. There weren't any agreements or anything professional. He just takes my card info and hangs up. Completely unprofessional and rude.

I received my order confirmation and receipt shortly thereafter via email but damn, what if I had any questions, there wasn't even a chance to ask one. I read a couple of reviews that alluded to Henry's disrespectful behavior, but I thought as long as my car makes it safely, It should be fine. Now I'm rethinking this. I for damn sure do not deserve disrespect when I'm being nothing but kind.

The concern I had was my estimated pick up was the 20th and I was scheduled to leave town on the 22nd, I just wanted to make sure that there wouldn't be any issues getting the car picked up on time and for good measure, maybe we could schedule the pick up for a bit earlier just in case. In this conversation, he took it upon himself to berate me about his superiority in the field, and that I need not question his authority.

He started off by saying, "OK, what are we doing here. Do we have a problem?" And I am sitting on the phone baffled because quite frankly, I'm just taken aback that this man is spending his evening going off on a customer like this. He continued to talk about how upset he was with me questioning him, about how I have trust issues, and threatened to cancel the transport.

With all this, I said, "Sir, I remember reading in the terms and conditions that I may owe $200 if I cancel. Can you confirm?" He was upset that I brought up the terms and conditions lol.

Then he agrees to just send me the money back via Venmo. Says verbatim, "I'd rather you have the money now because you're moving." And then immediately hangs up.


A NIGHTMARE.

I'm glad I got my money back but daaammmn, NEVER AGAIN.

I shipped two motorcycles from LA to the Midwest and Shawn at CCT was amazing! He contacted me all thru the process and had various possibilities to help me as my situation was complex: I was in another state, the bikes both needed to be towed and repaired before shipping and they were coming from two different Los Angeles locations. Shawn's the man. We bought a car in AZ and needed it shipped 1k miles to our house. Of course having so many 5 star reviews was appealing. Also the communications and getting a fast quote was important. Although not the lowest price, it was very fair.

Once we decided to move forward, he was able to secure us a driver within a few hours with short notice. The driver picked up the car at the dealership. Contacted me to let me know he was on the way (2 day drive). Got a call a day before delivery and got a call when he was 1 hour away.

Besides being dirty from the trip (expected), the car was delivered exactly how it should be: no issues. The driver was courteous. I took my time to inspect the car and make sure the odometer and everything was good. He had me use his phone and go through the final inspection and signature. Paid him the balance and he was on his way.

Coastal Transport is literally a life saver! I had an issue with a previous company and I recahed out to Shawn who was able to help me through the entire process. I shipped my car from California to Georgia. Communition was the best, customer service was great and Shawn was very responsvie and transparent with me. I was hoping to find good customer service and a safe carrier to transport my new vehicle......Unfortunately, I did not experience this with Sean at Coastal Car Transport. Maybe if you are shipping a cheap car or a vehicle you do not care about...Coastal Car Transport may be the way to go. By the way, they are brokers, not actual transporters, so they just go on-line and get random people to ship your vehicle---no back ground checks etc) After getting a quote for nearly $2100 which is very high compared to any other carrier) Sean refused to let me speak with the actual driver that would be picking up my vehicle...big red flag....and a cause for concern. Only after paying a fee would I be able to speak with the auto transport company/person....After finally speaking with the person who would be picking up my vehicle did I understand why SEAN did not want me to speak with him...he was rude and could not speak English...it was a waste of money and time ---

I should have just called Intercity or Reliable...

they actually own the trucks that will be picking up your car and they speak English and Understand customer service. Coastal Car Transport is just an on-line broker---they do not care who picks up your vehicle .

Update- I just received an angry phone call from Sean calling me names like liar. I asked him not to call me and hung up. After repeated calls back from him, I have blocked his number. To be clear, Coastal Car Transport did not ship my vehicle, I went with Intercity. Also the amount he quoted was $2195, not the $3000 I mentioned in my initial review. My mistake which I have corrected now.

After I made it clear that I wanted my car picked up on a specific date, the driver contacted me four separate times on the same day trying to cancel or reschedule. On the day of the pick up, he made an excuse as to why he could not pick up my car, and lied to my face. If you are having a car delivered near the san fransisco to los angeles area, and Shawn describes this driver as his "best driver", be wary.

Luckily, as a broker, Shawn was able to find another driver who was much, much better. If it had been this second driver in the first place, this review would be different.

However, due to the awful nature of the first driver, I will not be using this service again.

Shawn originally gave me $2400 but then he increased the quote to $2600 later. He said I could leave items up to 100 pounds but his assignee, Red Auto Transport, came to pick up my cars three hours later than promised time and told me my cars had to be empty and charges me extra $200. The inconsistency almost gave me a heart attack as I was leaving California in a few days. Obviously there was no clear communication between the him and the assignee. I had to call him multiple times and he said he would check and give me a call but he did not. He seems he didn't care as much. I really hate to deal with someone who keeps breaking promises.

My cars arrived two days after the estimated delivery day which I was not able to do anything but just waited. Zero communication was given during the time.

I really felt uncomfortable and just worried throughout the time since my cars got picked up and dropped off... I give him two stars since he took care of half the additional cost but honestly I could have had better experiences with other car carriers.

I payed $750 dollars to get my car transported from Seattle to SD. I called two weeks in advance to give the company my new address in SD because the old receiving address changed. The driver came to SD with my car two weeks later and STILL went to the old address. I'm patient so I thought whatever I can drive 12 min to my old address. However, the driver decided to CUSS at me on the phone because he had the wrong/old address. Again not my fault because I called in ADVANCE. I was yelled and cussed at for something that was the company's fault. I was doing the company a favor by driving 12 min out of my way to pick up the car. The driver said "Fuck you! Why are you doing this!?" Holy shit! I discussed this with Shawn(company representative) and he said he will get back to me after I spoke with him and he submitted a complaint. I didn't hear from him. I called back (which I shouldn't because again I was CUSSED at and YELLED at) to see if the complain had been made. I shouldn't have to call back for them to fix their incompetence and rudeness. Shawn said he didn't know who the driver was but will figure it out and call me back to just give him a business day. Him not knowing who the driver was leads me to believe no complaint was made. It's been a week and I've heard nothing. I will not be recommending this company to anyone else they are incompetent and have rude drivers. You're paying a lot of money and you don't deserve to be cussed at and specially for someone else's mistake. I was not offered an apology by the driver, paperwork in terms of my complaint, or a percentage of money back given that my car was dropped off at the wrong address and I cussed at. Again I shouldn't have to call to check on something that is their job to fix.

EDIT: After I submitted this review on 5/14; they FINALLY decided to call me back.This is after almost two weeks of ME calling them and waiting to see what happened with my complaint. It shouldn't take a yelp review for them to take action. I called on MAY 4th to make a complaint I was told that I was going to get a call back after the representative talked to the driver's boss; this did not happen. I waited 3 days.I called AGAIN on 5/7 turns out the representative did not even know the driver's name; I was told I was going to get another call back when they figured out who was the driver. Also, is it really hard to find out who was driving the car? this is sort of concerning; they don't even know the name of the person who is taking your car apparently. I waited A WEEK for a callback and then decided to post this yelp review. If they had followed through on their actions of my complaint about being told "fuck you" and "shit" by a driver; I will not be writing this review. I am not changing my review or answering calls; I gave the company time and even called them. I certainly believe that if you want your company not to receive negative reviews you need to treat them accordingly; I was dismissed once they received my money.I am unwilling to invest more time in something that a) could've been fixed about two weeks ago and b) that is ingenuine given that I got a call after my yelp review. They will say they tried to reach me to "fix" the situation. You don't fix the situation after a yelp review; you fix it before so you don't get a negative review. I was kind, respectful, never raised my voice and was patient whenever I talked to them; however, I was dismissed. I am unwilling to invest more time to hear them out to change my review (which I will not do) when they took no action for my complaint even after I called twice, and waited for them.

I gave the three stars because the beginning process was easy. Shawn was helpful in explaining the pricing and the process. When a truck was found we had about two hours to get everything ready before the driver arrived, which was somewhat inconvenient since we were both working, but is understandable in a fast paced industry. The car also arrived undamaged. I took away two stars because upon arrival of our car with Leo Carrier Inc. to FL, we noticed the odometer was higher than when the car was taken from us. While it was only 45 miles, I was never informed that my car would be driven while it was being shipped. When the driver was questioned he told us he had to drive our car to get "something" for his truck. The driver got on the phone with his boss who told him to give us a dollar back per mile difference, yet no apology or further explanation. While it was nice to be compensated $45, I much rather would have not gotten that money back knowing that my car would stay on the truck and not be driven without my consent. Unlike other reviewers, I never received a call to check on how everything went, so I called Shawn and explained the situation. He said he would contact the company and have them call me. I never heard from anyone again. While my vehicle was not damaged, nor driven thousands of miles, I was disappointed with the choices of the driver and the way that this situation was handled.

I called them to book my car shipment. The person on the other side said he is at lunch so txt my information and he will call me back. Waited for 3 days and nobody called me back. So never returned my call. Just wasted my time by waiting for their call.

Had a pretty good experience several years ago, but this last time dealing with Henry at Coastal Car Transport wasn't so great.

Wanted a car delivered from Ft. Lauderdale to LA. It was a nice old sports car, but not a Concours-level vehicle, so I said I didn't need an enclosed truck for shipping. Henry scheduled a pickup at a good price and I agreed to the deal. However, on the day of the scheduled pickup, I got a call from the dealer who sold me the car saying there was no way in hell he was putting my car on the truck Henry had arranged. Besides being next to some rusted out piece of sh!t cars, the truck didn't have a "lift gate", which is something necessary for a car with low ground clearance -- this is something that a knowledgeable, responsible transport broker should have known and arranged.

The dealer then emailed me and asked if I wanted him to find suitable transport on an enclosed truck with a lift gate -- he wouldn't charge any fee. I said no, let me give my guy another chance. Three days later on Thursday evening, I hadn't heard *anything* back from Henry, so I went back to the dealer, who said he would post the job on the trucking web site. The next day I'm out at a conference in the afternoon, and come back to find Henry had called my cell several times. Didn't bother to call back because it was the day before Christmas weekend and I still had things to do. Henry called me again the Tuesday after Christmas and said he had been trying to get a hold of me all week (which phone records will show is not true) because he had dispatched another truck (which I never authorized) and was going to have to charge me $300 for the dispatch.

Henry had initially charged me something like $275 for his fee, which I really didn't mind being charged as he did *some* work to post a job and arrange a truck (even though it was the wrong type and the dealer claimed it might have damaged my car), but then charging me another $300 for work he didn't do (or wasn't authorized by me to do) really leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

I had them ship my car from socal to norcal when I moved last week. He did a good job trying to find someone who can do it with my timeframe, but boy did these guys have attitude! They showed up with an 18 wheeler instead of a 2 car tranport Henry talked about and gave me grief about street being tight .And at the delivery end , the driver shows up and wants cash and I don't remember Henry saying a word about that!!! And I'm just moving my stuff in and no way to get cash, so they wanted to take the car back!!! I tried calling Henry but it was going to Voice mail. The driver got a hold of Henry finaly and passed me the phone... he told me that this information is in the receipt. He is right it was in a fine print, but this is something that I have to agree to! You can't shove it into the receipt and email it over ... it has to be a two way acknowledgement that I'm ok paying someone cash that transports my 60k card let alone if I can get it. At the end Henry agreed to charge my card and pay the driver given that he charged a credit fee on top. Anyways, I got my car , and it was in good shape from what I see... but man I had some unnecessary drama on this transport and that's something you don't want when you are moving to another city ...
