Generous Auto Transport
Customer Reviews
We just used these guys to transport our car across the country and it was a terrible experience. The office people are nice when they are trying to get your business, but when you need their help, they are the rudest group of people I have ever dealt with. We agreed on a delivery date, and they showed up early and we were not in town yet. When I called their office, the man who answered the phone told me it's my problem and hung up the phone. I do want to give credit to the driver, because he tried to help me, but I recommend you look for a different company or even better drive it yourself and save yourself a lot of headache and money.
Worst Service Ever! Ronnie, the owner is a rude unprofessional crook. He hangs up on you any chance he gets! They are not a transport business just a broker! Do not trust this mans company with your money and they take no resposibility for any damages because they're only finding you a transportation company. This company is worthless! And the owner is the scum of the earth!
Generous Auto Transport provided this job, promising to pick up my car at my origin address by Friday 5/11/2018, one day before we moved out of California to Maryland (move out date: 5/12/2018). 5/11/2018 came, and no driver picked up my car, so after many calls on that Friday and Saturday, the company stated that a driver would be able to pick up my car on Monday 5/14/2018. So then I had to have my inlaws move my car to my inlaws' address, about 5 minutes away from the origin address, since we already left CA. The driver ended up picking up my car on Monday, 5/14/2018. As quoted on the job number, the company promised to deliver my car by Saturday 5/19/2018 at my destination address in Maryland.
Saturday 5/19/2018 came.... and no driver showed up at my destination address in Maryland. So after many calls, again, I was told that MY CAR WAS STILL SITTING IN CALIFORNIA, WAITING FOR A WILLING DRIVER to deliver my car to Maryland. They claimed that my destination address was "not a popular address and that more time was needed to find a driver."
So then, after many more phone calls on Saturday 5/19/2018 and Sunday 5/20/2018, on Monday 5/20/2018 I spoke to a representative in that company, who said that they found a driver that was willing to deliver my car to Maryland.... for more money. THIS IS EXTORTION. They waited until they had my car in possession and until I was located far away from my car (my car was still in their lot in the state of California, and we already moved all the way across the country in Maryland, East Coast), in order to force me to pay more money (by increasing our total cost by $415, to be exact) before we could get our car back. If we did not pay the extra money, the company threatened to keep my car in their lot for even more charges, until I can pay up the extra money. We had no choice but a total of $1465 (an increase from $1050 to $1465), and the company delivered my car on Monday 5/28/2018. In the meantime, I had to incur over $300 additional costs in UBER charges (no rental car was available between Saturday 5/19/2018 to Tuesday 5/22/2018), plus a car rental of $308.40 from Tuesday 5/22/2018 to Tuesday 5/29/2018.
Terrible: They did not show up for scheduled pickup and left me high and dry. When I called they made excuses. Even worse, they called back and asked if I would pay $450 more than quoted. If you want to be screwed- this is your company.. Otherwise... Go elsewhere!
Everything went fine until the day I needed the pickup. - Truck not found they said, keep waiting. I asked if I find a different company who can pickup immediately will they give me a refund and be done with it - You have my blessing yes. So I call couple people, find carrier who is willing to pickup the next day, so I call back the Generous Auto Transport and ask them to cancel my reservation, they said that they wont give me the money back. Got me surprised, all this " you have my blessing" all the sudden went out of the window. they said that they are not outside their pickup window yet, so I asked if tomorrow they dont have it booked, will they cancel it than as it would be outside their window. the answer is no, they have 10 days to fail before giving any money back.
Edited: driver called me the next day and is picking up this within the timeframe needed, at the end of it but still within the timeframe so at the end it is all good. Was little nervous but from the looks of it, everything will work out as it should
Edited again, it turns out they picked it up just to bring to their yard as they did not have a carrier yet. Now 2 days later I am receiving a phone call stating that the move is 300$ more as the market fluctuates apparently. I should have known this before pickup but they put you to place and say it is what it is. I am long gone from CA so what do I have left to do? Pay and be pissed, additional charges, bad customer service. I would stay away and pay a bit more somewhere else as these guys would come up with additional charges either way and the rates would be the same, other places just wouldn't have headaches
Do not use this Vehicle shipper they are a very dishonest company and will use your credit card to take money out of your credit card with out your authorization. Ronney is a very rude man and yelled at me and put me down for calling him to many times. Took advantage of a 100% disable veteran man that needed to get is car out of the Bay City , Texas After the Hurricane.
GREAT, HONEST and FRIENDLY service. The disappointed and angry reviewers here should understand that the Car Shipping Industry is pretty cut throat. People like Ronnie work as the liaison between us and the truck drivers. He has to reach out to (dispatch if you will) and find available Truck Drivers that agree to OUR budget. That being said, our cost could fluctuate depending on several "truck and truck driver" factors that I am not an expert to speak on.
My experience with GAT was AMAZING not once but TWICE. First, I shipped my car from LA to Miami. Having never done it before, Ronnie put me at ease, came in with the LOWEST number and did not "over promise". My car arrived in Miami early. I paid the Truck Driver the remainder of the shipping cost in cash and off I went! Quick and easy!
Second, I shipped my car BACK to LA from MIAMI and AGAIN Ronnie came in lower in cost than any other company. Again my car arrived early. And again the transaction was quick and easy.
Some things on our "to do" lists in life are no fun. I'd say "shipping a car" is one of them UNLESS you go with Ronnie at Generous Auto Transport.
Thanks Ronnie and TEAM!!!
:)
I was referred to Ronnie at Generous Auto Transport by a contact at Reliable Transportation (which is another situation I don't want to get into), and I was given an invoice for shipping my car for $600. They took a $100 deposit on my card and then stated that I'd have to pay $500 upon delivery. Great, no problem. First issue was I noticed that he had the wrong phone number for me on my invoice. I emailed him, no response. I called him, no response. Fast forward to the day my car was to be shipped. I had no idea what time they were coming because of course, no one could call me due to the incorrect number. He finally calls me (from using he caller ID on his phone) after I called multiple times, to give me the drivers info.
So, my car was shipped on Tuesday, and I was supposed to get it by Friday or Saturday. The driver told me he wouldn't be able to deliver it until Sunday. Fine. Sunday comes, im ready to pick up my car, and the driver says nope! You need to pay $600 cash. He would not release it to me until I made the full payment because otherwise the $100 would "come out of his paycheck". So, I start blowing up Ronnie's phone because that was not the agreement, nor was that stated on my invoice. It took him two days to call me back, during which he tried to tell me that the price was $700, and then said that the drivers can charge whatever they want because Generous Auto is just a broker. I had to get very firm with him because he was trying to over talk me and talk very quickly to brush me off. Long story short, he was only able to reimburse $50 and I'm left to dispute the rest. PS, I also called the main office and spoke to a woman who also proceeded to tell me that the price was $700, and then referred me back to Ronnie, who had since disappeared. Thankfully, I got my car in one piece but this whole moving experience has been a mess, and I will not use this company again.
Thank you Ronnie for helping my family. We needed a last minute car picked up Florida to New York and Ronnie was able to make this happen in such a short time frame.
He is was very understanding and his customer service is remarkable!!!
I will be raving about u to anyone I know looking for auto transport.
NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS SEASONED SAMMER RONNIE .
This is a SCAM , the company representative Ronnie is a seasoned CONMAN and would sweet talk you and promise you everything you want for your move and then have you pay for the deposit which is the fraction of the cost for the move . Once you pay the cost , they don't respond and start using abusive language to dissuade you from asking any questions about the scheduled move. They work as brokers and at the day the move is scheduled call you that the driver is asking for more money and would scam you in agreeing the move for more money .
This is what happened with me and this is what all the reviews report for this owner who operate by various names to keep their original business identity hidden.
Not only should they be sued but also shut down for running such a scam.
They are abusive , shrewd and will try to take advantage of your situation when you have a tight timeline to move stuff .
PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY WHICH HAS MANY ALIASES .. REGAL , GENEROUS AUTO TRANSPORT . .. THE SCAM IS THE SAME .. STAY AWAY FROM RONNIE .
Worst service ever. WORST! They picked up my car from Dallas to be delivered in LA. It took them 7 days to deliver it. And the worst part is that they lied each day about the expected delivery day. When I was signing the contract with them, they said it will be delivered in 3 days. Third day onwards, each day they said it will be delivered that day, but that didn't happen until 7th. I ended up spending additional $160 on the rental. Stay away from these guys please.
