We're in the military, so this is for military people thinking about using this company. We worked with Sophie, we told her of our military status, and that our vehicle will be on the base at a friend's house, because we had to report to our next duty station and wouldn't be there with the vehicle. Sophie, the representative said that was fine. We gave her the address, scheduled a pickup date window. On the day of the pickup, the trucking company contacts us, explaining he can't get on the base, and could we have someone bring the vehicle outside the base, none of which was told to us was going to happen, and when we tried to contact Sophie by phone, she wouldn't answer our call. We did get a text from her, telling us about a conversation that NEVER took place, she was untruthful. So if you're in the military and have to do a conus move, think twice before using this company. Seems like they will say anything to get your business, which is very unfortunate

GAT cargo not insured
About January of 2023, I received a shipping estimate from Sofie at
Global Auto Transportation (GAT) to transport a Polaris off-road vehicle from Oregon to Southern California. On Tues, May 30, my Polaris was picked up by an enclosed triple-axle trailer towed by a newer model Ford Superduty (the Seller gave me photos of the Ford tow vehicle and it's license plate). So far so good. On Weds afternoon, a day after pickup, I received a text from the transporter "my driver got delayed on the road" followed by a photo of a blowout on a SINGLE axle trailer! The message caption read "Because of this, my driver is late, sorry". I pressed for details to alleviate my concerns. "No spare tire??" I asked. "No." came the reply. At 7pm I messaged "Is it fixed yet?" no reply. At 8pm I messaged "Where did your breakdown happen?" no reply. Then that night, at 1am, the transporter messaged "In Oregon, everything is already fixed, the driver is on the way". Then at 10am i received the message "Hi, can we deliver Polaris today in evening around 9-20-11pm?" "yes" I replied. But later that day there was an excuse for a new delay. Delivery would be the next day, Friday. My concerns grew a lot. Could this be a "faked" delay to give the "driver" or an accomplice time to orchestrate a phony theft of tow vehicle and trailer? A new $50k Polaris could be easily sold no-questions-asked in Northern Mexico to wealthy drug cartels with money to burn. Was this all to allow time for some Polaris joy-riding? How many "fake" reasons for delay should I tolerate before it would be too late for authorities to do anything? Was my Polaris covered if the driver's rig were reported stolen? I looked at the emailed estimate from GAT and saw cargo Insurance of up to $250,000. I called GAT to request Proof of Insurance (POI). Sofie didnt have it. This is when I learned my vehicle was not actually in GAT's care, but rather a 3rd party's. I asked Sofie to send me POI. She contacted the transporter and then emailed me an insurance document for a CHEVY TAHOE! So I called again. "I want POI for the actual Ford tow vehicle immediately!" I told her I would place a negative review on YELP if I didnt receive an accurate true POI, and it was both her obligation and in her interest to provide it. I told her a negative YELP review telling this story would hurt her job security and GAT's business. The transporter and Sofie offered a $300 discount on the remaining $750 I was to pay the driver. I felt I was being offered a bribe to keep quiet. Well, no POI was provided. My Polaris arrived safely on Friday afternoon, in the enclosed triple-axle trailer towed by the Ford Superduty photographed by the Seller. The next week I again asked Sofie for a correct Proof of Insurance. It is now 7 weeks later, and I never received any proof the Ford pickup and its cargo were insured. For future vehicle shipping, I will only select a carrier who advises me in writing they will provide Proof of Insurance for the transporting vehicle and proof cargo THEFT is covered BEFORE picking up the cargo. I will insist the carrier agree to refund my deposit if the driver/transporter is rejected by the Seller because the driver's POI didn't match what I received. I will give a copy of the POI to the cargo Seller and require Seller to only give cargo to the transporter/driver after confirming POI matches the driver's vehicle.
I hope this review helps YOU to dodge the bullet that missed ME.

No driver for 3 days, then truck stuck 1/3 through trip for 2 days, car finally arrived one week beyond estimate. Customer rep said to read the fine print that says any delivery date is OK, despite initial reassuring estimates.

If I could this company a 0 I would . This is my first time shipping my car and I spoke w Annie, she didn't follow up with me until I found another company and then proceeded to call me a liar because my vechile was posted on the national board 3 times I didn't know speaking with companies for pricing that they would post you. After the horrible customer experience I then asked to speak to the supervisor Sophie and she did nothing but say " is there anything else I can help you with" not even an apology, I will never work with them again.

Global Auto Transportation was a lifesaver when my car broke down in Arizona. I needed to get it home quickly and Logistics Coordinator Sophie was instantly able to arrange a local bulk towing outfit from Phoenix (dispatcher Carlos; driver Jose--two top notch guys as well; I wish I knew their company!) to deliver it to its destination in less than 24 hours, for less than half of what I'd have paid for a personalized tow service if I could even find one (Ninja Towing in Phoenix strung me along and offered me a "final" quote of $3800!) Thank you once again for the great service, Global and Sophie!

My car was picked up within the time promised and it showed up in perfect condition a few days later. Cost was less than expected

Never responded to picking up our car. Took a deposit never returned it. They could not seem to get it together to pick up our car when called to do so twice within 6 months. The only reason I called for a pick up a second time was because I had a deposit on file they refused to return from the first go round. They couldn't get the car towed in three weeks the first time...the second time I gave them a 60 day window and they still couldn't come through on the date that was agreed upon and then stopped communicating when asked for another date. They are horrible at communication and stole $150 deposit because they couldn't get it together to coordinate a pick up for transport. Do not use this company as they are liars and thieves.

This was the worse service I've ever experienced in my life. If you are looking to transport a vehicle DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. I placed an order and could not receive a confirmation for my pick up date till the night before after pestering Art, the employee who took my order. He would tell me he would get back to me with updates and never once called me. I had to call every time. When calling the manager Helen, who I wanted to complain to, who is also EXTREMELY RUDE and unprofessional told me "maybe if you pay more we can find you a driver" when my order was already over a grand. I received my car today and the driver left it completed damaged with his oil/tar hands all over my roof and said "he didn't do it" when he never marked that it was there to begin with on the inventory paper BECAUSE IT WASN'T. I've been calling the company all day and everyone has been so rude saying they don't know how they can help me because they don't know who to believe when I provided before and after pictures of my vehicle. This is the worse customer service I've ever paid for!!!!!!! Now I'm stuck paying for damage to my car when I didn't have any to begin with. I also left my vehicle to be picked up with my sun visors on so I know he had to have removed them to drive my car.

Unacceptable service!!!!! No reimbursement or compensation was given!!!!

Below are pictures of the stains that Driver LUIS LOPEZ left. I also sent them to the company and they said they didn't know what to do. DONT TRUST THEM AND SAVE YOUR MONEY!!

Got my vehicle transported about 2 years ago. They put my z4 bmw soft top convertible under a vehicle that was leaking oil and broke my seat belt loop as well. Was told to be at the drop off location at a certain time and ended up waiting for over 3 hours while the driver kept saying he was almost there.

I was in panic mode as I needed to transport a vehicle I sold from Los Angeles to Atlanta. I Googled auto transport companies and Global Auto Transportation came up. I sent in an inquiry and within minutes I got a response back!

I had the distinct pleasure dealing with Robert from GAT. He must have sensed my urgency and concern about transporting shipping my car, but he put my mind at ease. He provided a brief history of the company and insured my of his and the company's capabilities.

Robert did his research and got back to me with a price quote and estimated pick up and delivery date. I instantly jumped on it and Robert put me in direct contact with the transport driver to further assist me. I must say, the driver was just as professional as Robert. He safely loaded my car and away it went.

If I ever have to ship a car again, I'm contacting Robert from at Global Auto Transportation!

Overall the job was completed in the time frame and pricing that was quoted
Alvaro was courteous and professional with me even though I probably lost my temper a little during our last phone conversation which was wrong of me however there was some communication problems. I called a few days before shipping and asked Alvaro if they were going to pay the balance out of my credit card as the contract stated Cod upon delivery he told me no your good sir. I took that as I didn't have to pay the driver Cod and that would be charging my credit card. Upon pickup driver stated again Cod I emailed Alvaro and asked him and he said no sir Cod upon delivery but failed to tell me who to make cashier's check out to. I referenced the contract and made it out to Global Auto Transport and ended up having to give the driver cash.
When asked where it states who to make the check out to and why you didn't tell me who to make it out to if it wasn't to them he said he gave me the phone number to the driver and expected me to work it out. also there was no brakes on the vehicle which I relayed to Alvaro he failed to tell the driver of this so driver was unaware but made it work.
I would assume that the dispatch people are under commission and are fast to move on to the next call
Overall I would use them again but would be aware of the potential lack of follow-up and proper instructions from office staff

*****The next business day following the review of my experience, I was contacted by Arthur to see what could be done to make things right. After some negotiations I received a partial refund of the deposit amount due to the experience I received when shipping my vehicle using Global Auto Transportation.

Global Auto Transport will be receiving a one star because I'm forced to give one for this review and secondly because my vehicle arrived to me in one piece (although it took 21 days...yes 21 days.... compared to the 7-10 days they are claiming it takes.)

I contact Global Auto Transportation via their website and received a quote rather quickly. The next day I was contact by the suspect guy by the name of "Arthur". Arthur reached out gave me numbers and things of that sort and we set a day for me to drop off the car. Meanwhile I faxed the required information to Global Auto Transportation. On 11/16/2016 I delivered my vehicle to the Global Auto Transportation location. "Arthur" suggested it would be good to bring the car on the 16th to ensure it would make it to NC by 11/28. I arrived at the location and an was helped by an individual. He told me that "Arthur" was gone for the day. We proceeded inside the office space where the bottom floor is an insurance company, and a computer/call center area and up a few stairs is what looks like an office space for Global Auto. There were multiple desk in close proximity to each other. The individual hopped on a computer and looked on what was supposedly Arthur's desk for my paper work. I paid the deposit which he attempted to charge $100 more than what Arthur quoted me for the deposit. That was lowered with no problem. The vehicle was left and he said their driver would pick it up on tomorrow (11/17) when he arrived. On 11/18 Arthur e-mailed me a receipt. The receipt was slightly different than the one I had received prior. The available date was 11/18, estimated pick up date 11/21 and the estimated delivery date was 11/28. I spoke with Arthur and he stated the vehicle would probably not get picked up until 11/21. (Meanwhile, before dropping the truck off he assured me it would be picked up by 11/17). Around 11/26 I contacted Global to see where my truck was and an individual answered the phone and told me Arthur was unavailable and in a diff department. I demanded to speak to him and told him the office was really small and that he was lying. I was placed on hold and the individual who I recognized as being Arthur answered with in minutes. Arthur told me vehicle was on the way and the driver would reach out. On 11/28 I was told a driver would reach out but no driver contacted me. I was also told inaccurate information from two ppl about when my truck really left. As time went on I was then told the truck broke down in Texas and the vehicle was being repaired. An individual at Global was able to finally put me in touch with the company who had my truck. It was a disaster in trying to receive a contact for the company.

I am highly disappointed and finally received my truck on 12/7! I was only given a $100 discount from the trucking company and lot Global Auto Transportation. Arthur stopped responding via e-mail around 11/28 and would not return emails.

The trucking company handled the situation better than Global Auto. I spoke with the trucking company about a discount and they granted me one but they also stated on their posting board Global gave them negative feedback and that they were unjustified to do so. They said Global should have provided a refund as well but the trucking company was accommodating.

The office is small, watch the invoices you receive and make sure the dates are filled in, (Good luck getting a drivers phone number) and be prepared to wait 21 days for a vehicle. The opening statements and niceness only last until your vehicle is dropped off.

I was in San Diego and the car broke down. When I took the car to the dealer, I found out it had a cracked engine. I had to leave the vehicle in San Diego and come back to Concord. When I was in Concord, I either had to go back or have it transported back to my hometown. Turned out the shipping would cost less so I went online to search for local shipping companies in California. They were in contact with a friend of mine in San Diego. But the first pickup was cancelled, and a driver was later dispatched on a date that did not work for my friend so we agreed upon getting the car picked up the following week. I eventually got my car in two weeks from first contacting them. That was pretty much more than I expected the local move would take.

Looks like there has been a management change recently. The new marketing manager called to understand the issues I faced. He told me that the intermediate transport company is not used by Global Auto Transportation any more because of unprofessional service. Since there is no paperwork, he also offered to compensate 50% of the repair costs of my car.

I changed the rating from 1 to 2 because they are at least addressing the issues I faced - even though 7 months late. My advice is that if you decide to use them or any other transportation carrier always make sure that paperwork is in order so that you can claim insurance if something goes wrong.
