Very disappointed using Horizon. I imported a vintage Land Rover from Europe and, unfortunately, go paired up with Horizon for the import and shipping process. They made countless promises to provide a status update and never followed through. They even told me the vehicle was enroute and scheduled for delivery the next day, only to later find out it hadn't even been picked up from the port in Baltimore. Overall, it took almost four months (yes... FOUR MONTHS) to ship it from Baltimore.

Highlights -
- Repeatably promising updates or actions and then not following through
- Issued bad shipping details so the drivers assigned to pick it up constantly cancelled (5 different driver attempts) with different excuses each time
- Very poor customer service throughout - bad communication, bad updates, and bad business getting things done the right way

I know vehicle shipping has gotten harder since COVID, but the standard is higher than this. It has to be higher than this.

Terrible Customer Service, No empathy, Constant excuses, This company have my car sitting in Jacksonville docs already for 4 weeks, Everyday I get an excuse that there are no drivers to pick up my car. I have to chase them down via emails and phone calls, and the excuses continues. GARBAGE

This company does not care about its customers. My car spent almost 4 weeks at the port after paying them to deliver it to my house. Their cistomer service is terrible and they never cared to call me back or keep me updated about the status of my vehicle. I ended up having to rent a car for several weeks because they did not secure a driver to deliver my vehicle. Every time I called them I received a different story and none of the stories were ever the correct one. I emailed them on several occasions and hardly ever received a response email in an appropriate amount of time and that's if I even received an email back at all

Zero stars! This company does nothing but give excuses for their inept, useless, time wasting and lame efforts to offer something remotely similar to customer service!
Many promises made, but none followed through on.
I was referred to this cowboy outfit by my English shipping company that imported my vintage Triumph motorcycle to the USA. I must contact them to warn them of the horrible service Horizon offers.
Im on my last raw nerve with these clowns.
It has been over 10 days since my bike arrived in the USA. Speaking with my assigned agent, she constantly assured me that everything was in order and that she would call or fax me or my agent back with the instructions to pock up my bike but never did she contact me. I had to chase her down.
The last straw is today. She promised me yesterday that she wouldn't leave work until she had completed my paperwork and that she would call me, at the latest by this early am. It is now 10:45 am pacific time. So that makes it 12:45pm her time. When I call to speak with her,I am informed that she is off today.
I AM OUTRAGED!!!!
Do not waste your time or money on this bush league company, you will only be disappointed and frustrated and possibly incur storage charges at the receiving warehouse.

I bought a rare, beautiful Italian Lancia car in the Netherlands. The dealer there arranged ocean shipping to Freeport, Texas. The shipper arranged with Horizon to handle the US side of the project. The shipping company decided to drop my car in Jacksonville, Florida. I contacted Samantha at Horizon who said the shipping company would send my car by truck to Freeport, Texas. I explained to Samantha every time the car is loaded and unloaded, there's another chance for damage. She agreed and quoted a rate of $900 for car transport from Jacksonville to Tulsa. (Originally, it was supposed to be $650 from Texas). I agreed and Samantha said she would put my car "on the board" for shipping. The next day I called Samantha to find out if my car had been picked up from the port of Jacksville. She said it would take a couple of days. This was on a Friday. On Monday, I called, Samantha wasn't in. I asked to Speak with Mardy Schweitzer, the owner. Mardy dove into a lengthy diatribe about the shortage of drivers and how hard it is to find drivers these days. Samatha joined the call and asked if I wanted to offer more money to have my car picked up(!) I told her that sounded a lot like hostage negotiation. She said she would keep looking for someone to pick up my car. I told her I was concerned about it sitting on the docks in Jacksonville in the salt air for an indefinite time. She told me I should have shipped it in a container. I told her I expected her to arrange all the shipping. The message on hold at Horizon, which I heard quite a lot, states, "just sit back and relax and leave the shipping to us." I explained to Samantha that her service really hadn't been relaxing at all. She told me I could have used another shipping company (Except, this company was arranged through the shipper in the Netherlands). By Tuesday, July 3, I had had quite enough of Horizon Auto Shipping. I contacted another car transport who told me they could pick up my car that day. It was more money, but by that time, I had no confidence in Horizon and just wanted to get my car. When I told Samantha I was concerned about damage to my car, Samantha said, "there are no guarantees in the shipping business." Mardy said, "You should have bought insurance" (I had, but I was paying this company to handle the logistics. In the end, I found Horizon to be an absolutely horrible company with which to work and I cannot emphasize loudly enough how much I would discourage prospective customers from using this company. Fortunately, I'm only out an additional $450, and from the various reviews I've read, I'm very lucky. Also, check with the Houston BBB for more horror stories.

All around not recommended. Tried using them twice. Super slow and not very knowledgeable in my opinion. They ended up costing my a lot of time and money that could've been avoided if they did their job.

DO NOT use this company!!! Had our vehicle shipped to Hawaii with no problem. Used this company again 3 years later with the same car from Hawaii, worst mistake ever! We were given a quote after calling multiple times! They asked for paper work to be filled out, did it and never heard from them. One week later called to verify they had received our paperwork Yvette said yes. Never mentioned anything about the car not having docking insurance or how I could have purchased it. (Mind you I had used this company with an employee names Samantha who explained everything to us) We thought that since it was a quote over the phone Yvette would have explained there was other options but no. Our car arrived to our home town in Texas and the driver called saying he would be there in Saturday night, we said ok we were going to take a 2 hour trip in the am arrived at 4 called him he didn't answer till 7 said he would deliver in the A.M before 12 noon. Waited, noon came we called him. He answered and said he would be there in 30 min. Called us back 5 min later and said his truck broke down. (Which was weird since he had said he was already driving in the previous phone call) he said the other option would be to deliver it in his personal dolly. At this point we couldn't do anything since the office was closed. We waited another 15 min then he said that magically his truck had started. Waited another 2 hours he arrived to a gas station. Took our car down called us and out car had dings and cracks! We let him know and he said well you have to call the company on Monday. Called filled a claim with Yvette. Waited over 3 weeks for a call or email from some Marty person who never seem to be in the office who is also an "owner". Then on the 4th week we received an email from Marty stating that we did not buy dock insurance so basically "too bad". First of all we weren't given an option for dock insurance. Second of all does it really take 4 weeks to tell someone that they didn't have dock insurance and they can't do anything about it?! Unfortunately I have recommended this company to so many friends it will be letting them know not to use this company because this is the most unorganized, horrible customer service place ever! Please do not make my mistake and go with this company!

This was my first time ever needing a service to ship a vehicle from Houston to Hawaii. I contacted Matson which handles the majority of vehicles shipped from the mainland to Hawaii, and they told me that I would need to find a broker to facilitate the delivery of my vehicle to their port in Long Beach, CA. I decided to go with Horizon after searching for a local company, and they were able to give me a reasonable quote via phone (after doing research later on to ship a second vehicle I found their price quote to be about average with only a few being lower). Communication with them after that via phone/email to schedule the pickup of the vehicle went smoothly. The driver picked up the vehicle and then had it delivered to Matson in Long Beach, CA, and eventually arrived in Honolulu.

BE AWARE! I highly recommend to use a different company. I had a horrible time with Horizon Auto Shipping . I cleaned my car, had it looking nice. When the driver picked up my car, he even mentioned that the car was clean, and that it looked like a new car. The driver takes my car to the Dallas vehicle processing center. They say it's dirty and needs to be cleaned. So on the way from San Antonio to Dallas, my car got dirty. How am I responsible for this? The driver had other places he needed to go so they drop my car off at some auto yard to get my car washed. They charged me $120 for the car wash and having to have the auto yard drive my vehicle back to the vehicle processing center! Over the phone the driver said it would be around $25, but they charged me $120 without even calling me. That's on top of what I paid them originally. I will never use this company again, and I hope no one else does either. They can charge you whatever they want since they have your credit card information already before you have them pick up your car. I complained to the company and they only offered to refund me $20. I would rather show everyone how bad this company is than take the $20.
