Numis Auto Transport
Customer Reviews
Bait and switch. I agreed on a price and signed an agreement. Then I get a call asking for more money day before my car was to be picked up. Entirely unreliable and unprofessional. Beware!
Please do not use Numis Auto Transport for Auto Shipping especially if they ship using Abraham Express. Here is my story:
The original date for my car to be picked up was on March 18, 2015. However, I was told that the driver was running late and could not make it till March 19th.
March 19th (Thu) - Driver Harry from Abraham Express picked up my car in San Diego. They were to ship my car to Maryland. The car was to arrive in Maryland on March 27th. I took off a week from work to arrive in Maryland on March 25th.
March 26th - Called Abraham express 3 times and spoke with Cesar. First call - he did not recollect where my car was. Second call - His computer all of a sudden breaks down. Third call - His computer is not working anymore. Cesar further said that it is their policy that the driver call each of the car owners before they start and since I never received a call, perhaps the car was not shipped - RED FLAG
So, I call Numis Auto and they reach out to Abraham Express and I finally get the TRUTH that the truck on which my car was shipped was broken and could not be fixed right away.
Suzzana and Cesar did a conference call and promised me to compensate for my time.
March 27th (Friday)- Called Numis and spoke with Suzzana who informed me that she would get in touch with Abraham Express and keep me posted. That evening, I called Suzzana and she informed me that they would have my car delivered by April 1st. I asked her specifically if the truck was moving and she said yes it was and they would have better idea by Monday as the driver cannot drive more than 8 hours/ day per law. I asked her why I did not receive a call from driver and she gave a me long story of drivers on road cannot answer phone calls. Yes , I know that that is She further stated that she would keep me posted over weekend by email. ( Good luck getting a reply from her by email).
March 28th (Sat) - Spoke with Cesar from Abraham Express at 1253 EST who informed me that the FIRST truck had never moved and was still broken - inconsistent with what Suzanna said. Also he added that they sent a second truck with 2 drivers and that truck broke down as well - apparently its head blew off - Would you really believe this ? This is completely opposite of what Suzzana informed. Plus, 1. there was no proof of my car shipped , 2. No proof of truck broken down and 3. No phone number of driver. I emailed Suzzana and she replied back saying she still had no new updates. As a responsible agent, I would have hoped that she would call Cesar and clarify what the situation was. But she did not.
March 29th (Sun) - Everything is close
March 30th (Mon)- I waited till 3.30pm EST for Suzzana to update me on my car. I called her 2 times - 3.30pm and later 3.40pm to try and get in touch with her. I was informed that she was busy on phone.
Very disappointed with my experience thus far. When I was originally trying to book my car shipping from California to New York I had a great experience. They were incredibly responsive, reasonably priced, and their scheduled delivery was faster than other companies were quoting me.
However, I paid my deposit of 100 something dollars, booked my service, and then everything totally changed. I was originally told that it was highly likely that my car would be picked up on Monday or Tuesday so it was ready to go on Monday morning. Didn't hear anything from them on Monday so I called two different numbers and left a message. On Tuesday I still don't hear anything so later in the afternoon I call again. On my second try someone picked up, and said she would be speaking to another woman and then would call me back. Perhaps not surprisingly, no one called me back. On Wednesday, I was on a plane across the country and made sure to call during my layover so that I could make sure someone was home. I was able to talk to someone who said they would talk to my driver and then call my dad back so that he could arrange a time to be home. Thursday passes, still nothing. On Friday we still have not heard anything so I call again. Yet again I call and speak to someone who says they need to talk to someone else and then will call me back.
At this point, my car is going to be quite a bit later than I anticipated. However, what I have found most annoying is how responsive they were prior to my booking and the lack of communication once my deposit was paid and it is time to pick it up. Moving across the country is stressful enough and this just adds to that. Really hoping that this experience improves and that I will be kept informed going forward...
I'm writing an update now that it's been almost two weeks and really wish I could rank them below one star to express my continual disappointment in this company. Turns out my car wasn't picked up because the driver was missing a part on their car and needed to wait for it to come in. Understandable, but why couldn't they have updated me as it was happening? It took one week of my daily phone calls and finally I heard back via email. They gave me the option to cancel my order entirely at that point, which I opted not to since I am already on the east coast and I had already spent so much time on this that i didn't want it all to go to waste.
So FINALLY (almost two weeks after the original pickup date) my car was picked up. It's now been five days since that occurred and just got a call from the driver (it's Wednesday) so I was pleasantly surprised by how fast it was. The driver either did not receive or did not use the contact number provided to them.
Tomorrow I supposedly get my car back. Excited to get my car back but even more excited to never have to deal with Numis again.
TLDR: Zero communication, late pickup, cash only payments. There are better companies out there. I would recommend that your keep on looking and do not book under any circumstances. The slightly discounted price is not worth your time and energy.
I've used a number of auto transport services over the years, and I must admit that Numis has by far been the most professional, responsive, and best value/price.
I was referred to Numis by a friend who had used their services in the past to have her car transported from Virginia to Scottsdale, AZ. She had mentioned that they offered great pricing and that her car had been delivered to her on time, and with not a single scratch on it. I was almost sold, but wanted to do my research. I began looking online and calling several companies to get rates and to check if they could in fact have my sister's car shipped to San Diego (from northern VA). I received a number of quotes and wrote down all the specifics before calling Numis. I called up Numis and was connected to Rose. From the she picked up, she made me feel good about calling them. She was very pleasant, informative, and was able to get me two quotes (based on pick up dates/delivery day/time within minutes. I hadn't even mentioned that I was referred by another client of theirs- I guess I really didn't need to play that card as she was already very professional and made me feel as if I was going to be in good hands.
Long story short, I picked the available dates for pick up and delivery, and happy to report that my sister's car was delivered to us this past weekend- on time, and without a single scratch.
I'd highly recommended this company and will certainly call on them in the future should I need their services. 5 Stars all around!

My delivery from southern California to Philadelphia had a few hiccups. I wish I could give this business 3.5 stars but yelp won't allow me to do that, so unfortunately, I have to give 3.
Booking: I worked with Rose on booking my almost brand-new BMW from southern california to philly. I conduct an unreasonable amount of research before I spend money. I got at least 11-14 quotes and read tons of reviews. Why did I end up choosing Numi's despite the availability of other companies with 50-100+ 5-star reviews? Well, Numi's is a fairly newer company so the lack of reviews was understandable. The 9 reviews seemed great, the price was lower than other companies ($895 total, all-inclusive), and Rose was very easy to work with. Rose emailed me an order form, which required a deposit of $195 in the form of check, money order, cash, or credit card. I let her know what day I would need my car delivered and what day my car would be available for shipping. This was around mid-May and my car was available for pickup June 2nd. I was told I would be contacted when she had a pick-up and drop-off date.
May 31st arrives--I hadn't heard from Rose regarding a pick-up date or time. So I emailed her. She was very quick in calling me back. She let me know that the car would be picked up either June 2nd or 3rd and I would get a phone call from the truck driver 24 hours prior to pick-up. June 1st--no phone call so I assumed the car would not be picked up June 2nd. Then on June 2nd--again no phone call and by the time it was approximately 4 pm, I got worried because business hours were almost over. I called Numi's, who then got in contact with the truckdriving company. I was told I would be called later that night. Around 7 pm, I finally got a phone call from the driver who told me he would be coming the next day between 3-6 pm.
The next day, June 3rd, I waited at home between 3-6 pm for the truckdriver. Around 6 pm, the driver calls me and says he is stuck in traffic and would arrive about 50 minutes late. 7 pm comes around and he finally makes his way to my front door.
The driver was from Rhee's Auto Transport based in Norwalk, CA. We did an inspection of the car, he took photos all the way around and recorded/photographed the odometer. I would HIGHLY recommend you do this as well. I took photos of every single little defect on my car and the odometer for my own records. He was hesitant in recording the smaller scratches because he claimed they couldn't be held responsible for any "small" scratches that occur on transport. They do, however, cover larger dents and defects if they so happen. -_-
The driver loaded my car carefully onto the truck. It was a small truck that held just 2 cars, including my own. I was notified that my car would then be transferred to a large open trailer for long-distance transport, then transferred to a smaller truck again in Philly for local transport to my apartment. This process was nerve-wracking. Why? Because he almost got back into his truck to drive away when I yelled that he forgot to tie down 2 of the wheels....he got out of the truck, laughed nervously, and proceeded to secure my car down properly.
June 9th arrives and I get a phone call from the truck driving company stating that my car would be ready for pickup June 11th. I asked if it could be delivered June 12 because that's when I actually fly into Philly. He said he would check. I emailed Rose and she assured me in the email (verbatim): "Don't worry they will deliver your car on Sunday (June 12)." Well, they couldn't deliver on Sunday. So I didn't appreciate the confident but false reassurance. The driver called back and said he could deliver June 13 or 14 but wasn't sure when. I asked if he could guarantee a June 13 date since I have just 2 days to move into my apartment before work starts. He was extremely rude, said he couldn't guarantee a date and (of course) reminded me not to forgot the money! Why am I not surprised? He was also shocked that I didn't have anyone in Philadelphia to receive my car for me. He kept repeating, "NO ONE??" NO, I DON'T HAVE ANY FRIENDS OR FAMILY IN PHILLY, OKAY?? Don't have to remind me how lonely I am.
One other small hiccup: I was accidentally billed a balance of $750 of the $895 when I only owed $700 of the $895 since I paid a deposit of $195. Rose was quick and excellent in correcting the error!
So how was the car on pick-up? It was delivered in mostly perfect condition except for minor scratches from the long drive. The deliverer was very friendly and easy to work with.
Scheduling/booking: 4 stars
Price: 4 stars
Responsiveness: 5 stars. Rose was always responsive and great with communication when I had a question or there were discrepancies.
Truck driving company: 2 stars! (at least they got it done)
Pick-up: 3 stars
Delivery: 4 stars
This was my first time using a shipping company and after reading all the stories online about scams and ripoffs it was hard to pick a company. I chose numis and I'm glad I did.
The price was good and even though scheduling was a little difficult on my part, they were really helpful and worked with my schedule. I had no issues and I had my car the next day after it was picked up.
I'll definitely recommend them and use their service in the future.
