Reindeer Auto Relocation
Customer Reviews
I have used Reindeer Auto relocation twice and both times had a great experience. Car was delivered faster than I expected and without a scratch on it. Shawn Smith was a delight to work with, she was knowledgable, courteous and friendly

KUDOS to Reindeer Auto Transport (I swear that's their name) - vehicle arrived on AMAZING shape and 2 weeks EARLY and the weather in Anchorage has been below zero and snowing. The driver in South Florida was from Seattle and super courteous and the driver today here in Anchorage Alaska brought my vehicle on his flat bed turned on and with heater running and he told me "I figured you will be driving her soon so I turned her on at the port and put heater on as I loaded on my flatbed.... SERVICE!! My boss, who relocated from Jacksonville FL to Anchorage AK used Reindeer and recommended them and I can see why!!

Horrible service. Emailed with one of the reps and they told me I could put things in the car, after I specifically asked. They denied this and yelled at me until I talked to their supervisors about it and showed them the VISUAL proof. They were nice enough to figure it out, but the company they contract was also pretty mid. Their service didn't give me any update and by the time they came and called me, I wasn't even there.

Reindeer Auto was the epitome of professionalism.
I had my 2017 Honda Hatchback shipped for the long hall: across the country, Boston to Northern California.
And each person on the team took care of me every step of the way and never dropped the ball.
Evan was my initial point of contact, Shawn owned the transit logistics, and Alex was the knowledgeable driver.
Details regarding pickup window, transit, and drop off were clearly communicated via series of emails and phone calls.
My service was "prepaid", so I only paid one time upfront.
I had been burned in the past by a different relocation service, who shipped my car across the country (west to east). That company's driver unexpectedly requested cash or else they "wouldn't give me my car", plus my car had roof damage. So, I don't easily trust auto relocation services after that experience.
That was NOT all the case with Reindeer.
Their transit contact and driver were kind, plus I had no car damage upon delivery. There was dirt on the car but that was clearly conveyed to be expected before my car was picked up. After all, the driver had to drive through Wyoming/Utah border where there is known to be heavy snow/slush.
A big kudos to Evan, Shawn, and Alex for their care to detail, answering my numerous questions, and making me feel comfortable every step of the way.
This team was truly stellar and I hope other customers get these people!

I would never use this company again. They damaged my vehicle and refuse to help with the repair. Their contractors are terrible to work with. The have zero customer service and I would steer clear from this company.

Terrible company to do business with. They damaged my vehicle in transit by the negligence of their carrier who tried to force the column gear shift instead of pull forward on it. Caused several hundred dollars in damage and they refuse to fully reimburse me. Avoid this company at all costs if you care about your vehicle!

Shawn Smith was awesome to work with on our vehicle move. We had moving dates for pick up and she was able to accommodate us all the way to delivery! Would highly recommend Reindeer to anyone needing to transport vehicle.

What a quick delivery! even in adverse weather, the Driver weathered the storm to deliver our vehicle. Appreciate the EXTRA effort and affordability.

reindeer serviced the transportation of vehicles for myself (through amazon relocation) and my fiance (through our own funds and effort). The level of service for both relocations was exemplary. The big things I want to highlight them for are the fact that their delivery was on time, courteous and
they communicated the status of the delivery constantly for the duration of the service.. And the other part I want to highlight them for is the price never changed. The quoted price was not exuberant and they were no hidden fees attached. Which is a big plus given that the car relocation business can be very shady. I definitely would recommend them to anyone looking to transport the car.

Delivered 2 cars for me. They had to be shipped on different dates and traveled from Virginia to California. Both deliveries were managed flawlessly from start to finish. I couldn't be more pleased with every aspect of the experience and the professionalism of the team.
Our experience with Reindeer Auto relocation was outstanding. From the initial call to truck delivery, everyone was nice, informative and professional. We were quoted a flat (reasonable) price and given a delivery date. The price didn't change and the truck was delivered 4 days early. It was nice to deal directly with the shipping company and not a broker. If we have need to ship a car, we will be repeat customers!
Great company to work with. The coordinator had been on top of every needs , very quick to respond and arranged the move perfectly. The moving teams at both ends have been great, very professional and trustworthy, exceeded our expectations!
Absolutely horrible, first their delivery driver was insisting I show up to receive delivery in the middle of my very first work day in my new job because he did not want to reschedule and the delivery date was several days off of their predictions, then they did not want to cover the cost of the new crack on my windshield and the antenna that fell out. You can clearly see the antenna was on when the car was loaded. Would not recommend to anyone
Replying to Jessica
The updated delivery date was 5/16-5/17 (added email screenshot) so I had to change my plans on my first day of work and rush to the delivery site in the middle of the day because the delivery driver was being inflexible and even suggested I had someone else be there for delivery. So I rushed to the delivery then rushed back to my new work site without time to inspect. Then for the next week I was staying in a hotel about 40 minutes away from where the car was delivered and using a rental vehicle so that's why I made the claim a week later when I finally made it back to using my vehicle. I explained this in an email and claim but had no support or understanding even though the damages were not there on the pickup report. Also there is no need to publicly post the city I am now living in with my family.
Responsive up front and pick up was great. Delivery was a mess - driver dropped off at 1030PM, 20 minutes from my house. Said that was the closest he could possibly get. Every bit of paperwork you sign says they won't deliver past dark. Not only did they deliver in the middle of the night, but the driver was 45 minutes late. I ALSO had to pay for an Uber out pocket as at that hour the help I had enlisted was unavailable. Wasn't awful but wouldn't use again. They've been completely uninterested in an apology. The drop off driver was pushy and rude.
Excellent service. They transferred my car from Montreal to Bay area. There was no damage on the car. It came on time.
Terrible experience. Car came damaged and customer service rep ghosted me. Do not recommend whatsoever.
Agents are so rude and aggressive. Mostly Donny is the worst. I think his executives must take action on him because of his worst manner. I'm done, stressed enough to start my day. I think he is not allowed to say idiot to me, I've never said anything wrong to him.
Terrible experience. Shipped two cars. A sedan and SUV. SUV was fine. My sedan was beaten up. The gas door broke and doesn't stay in place. My bumper was smashed into my headlight. And my oil pan was smashed in the undercarriage and now scraping when I drive. When I showed them the damage they tried to say it was "already there". I take care of my cars meticulously. Beware.
For the comment below. I did not have a Mercedes or Porsche. Nice try though
Update: repairs are well over a thousand dollars but reindeer won't reimburse the damage to all but my gas tank. I will be out quite a bit of money. Beware - the guy who delivered the car tried to have my wife sign the contract stipulating the gas door was already there (was not). Will be filing a complaint with BBB
Horrible experience in which my car was damaged and the driver who delivered it could not provide current insurance (I have pictures for proof). Do yourself a favor and just make the drive, the headaches are nowhere near worth it. I hope this review saves you from what I'm dealing with.
I would recommend reading all reviews before working with them. All is great when your car turns out ok. But if there are any issues they seem to always blame the owner. This is from experience as well as observing reviews. Looks like they pay Yelp for a pro account so they can hide things easier. Work with a driver directly instead. It helps the driver and you get quality service without working with people who will make every excuse in the book not to take and cover your claim. Check Google reviews too. Hopefully things work better for you if you work with this company.
Reindeer collected the car in perfect condition, and delivered with the fender misaligned - all documented on paper and with photos at pick-up and delivery; they denied our claim because they could not find evidence of negligence or misalignment on their part, but could not explain how the fender got misaligned... use at your own peril...
Do NOT recommend!! They damaged my car and customer service was the worst.
They made two dents in car and refused to admit it despite the fact that the delivery inspection report clearly showed the damage that was not present on the pickup report.
It cost me a bunch out of pocket.
We had our Porsche Boxster relocated from Colorado to Texas this past weekend. Apparently raindeer gave the driver (they contracted) the wrong address for the relocation. She left our vehicle on the side of the road unlocked in front of a hotel.
I have had a terrible experience with Reindeer Auto and would not recommend them to anyone. I just had 2 cars moved from CA to MD. When the first car arrived, the door stop lever arm of the driver side door was broken, so now the door will swing open if not held continuously. This happened the first time I got out of the car and caused a dent in the door. Reindeer has denied my initial claim but I plan to fight it. I have pictures to prove that the dent was not there when they picked up the car.
When they tried to deliver my second car, they did not have the key. It turns out that they left my key in another car that was delivered in Pittsburgh. I was told that my key would be sent over-night, but I have still not received it, over 3 weeks later.
Reindeer was recently booked for us by my husband's new company to help us relocate. Our interactions with Reindeer themselves were fine, but the shipping company they used for the job was subpar.
Our two cars arrived damaged with the clear coats extensively scratched from hood to trunk. The truck driver tried to lie to me blaming the trees he had to drive under on our smallish street, despite the fact that one of the cars was on the bottom row. The driver was not apologetic and did not provide appropriate paperwork for me to record the damage before signing.
Luckily after all the mess, they did end up reimbursing us for the cost to get it fixed. But I wish I hadn't needed to worry about extra paperwork, finding a good place, scheduling, taking the cars in, etc. Not a very nice way to start off in a new city.
I had my vehicle shipped as part of a government Permanent Change of Station. Because of the nature of the PCS, shipping was done through a series of contractors. The vehicle left Los Angeles, CA and arrived in Hilo, HI. Within one week of arrival I had diagnosed a broken power-steering pump, broken harmonic balancer, broken transfer case bearing, water in the front and rear differential, and significant bearing damage in the rear axle.
I had the car serviced 10 days prior to shipping, including and extensive drive train check. Everything was 100% operation and in good condition prior to shipping.
I have letters from two mechanics in Hawaii attesting that the damage was most likely caused during shipping, either from standing water infiltrating into the axles and then a series of cascading problems as the drive train failed, or anecdotally someone doing some heavy four-wheeling and not knowing how to engage/disengage the system properly.
Despite these letters and documentation they denied my insurance claim and said so sad, too bad.
I am now at $4K in damages and incidentals.
I have shipped this car to Hawaii twice before, both times out of pocket personally and directly through Pasha Hawaii ($900). Both times I had not had an incident.
Under no circumstances would I ever use this company again, professionally or personally.
I will do my most to impress on my federal employee colleagues the failure of this company in its responsibilities and suggest they ship their vehicle personally as an out of pocket expense.
The best part of this is since this vehicle relocation was covered by work it is a taxable expense. Who knows how much they upcharge the government, so I get to pay for them to ship and break my vehicle.
The company denies fixing my car!
The company I work for hired Reindeer to transport my car. I drive a hatchback car yet they put my car on the bottom level of a 2 level transport truck. A bar was sitting and touching the roof of my car when I got it meaning: when the truck bounces, that bar pushes against the roof of my car with the weight of all the cars on the upper level.
They denied any wrongdoing and denied my claim because I didn't report it within 24 hours. I didn't even see the scratches because the delivery was at night! They also required me to provide an estimate which takes longer than 24 hours because body shops get backed up! How else did those scratches end up on my roof other than from Reindeer's poor service?! Because a liar I am not.
Jeff Wallace, the Reindeer representative handling my claim is a piece of scum for denying order# 1275086 because Reindeer is obviously at fault with the pictures I provided. Their 24 hr policy was absolutely predatory. These people have not respect for your vehicles or your belongings. Be super defensive and inspect your car from head to toe as if the driver had a vendetta against you and purposely ruined your car.
UPDATE: There is a business manager that is replying to yelp reviews and really sticking to their 24hr/2 day policy. The fact that there is a person replying to yelp reviews only to regurgitate their unforgiving claim time window shows how low their value for customer service is. Look at my photos, Jessica. Also look at the delivery receipt. It's so obvious Reindeer did this to my car. How else did I get scratches on my car when it was parked out in the open of a hotel parking lot for 2 weeks?
Our car was damaged during transport and Reindeer refused to pay for the damage.
The car tire cover was missing at the reception of the vehicle a Toyotta Rav4. The estimation submitted to Reindeer was $750 to fix the car, which Reindeer refused to pay us.
They stated that the cover probably went off during the transport because of wind and it was our fault to not have it secured!
Scandalous behavior, i strongly recommend against using this fraudulent service.
Do not move your car with this company. Do not allow the company you work for to move your car with this company.
I was relocated cross-country by my new employer. Reindeer "brokered" the move of 2 cars. Knock on wood, one of them seems fine. The other incurred significant front-suspension-related damage. None was apparent before we moved, when we had maintenance, new tires, and rebalancing done. We only sent Reindeer a claim for the portion directly attributable to obvious suspension issues(bearings and boot), but they politely declined.
If they respond to this at all, they will cite their fine print(ie "you need to notice your car was torn apart within 24 hours", "not responsible for mechanical issues"), which should be enough to send anyone running for the hills.
Find a company that will relocate the car themselves, professionally, with a covered truck, and with an elevator instead of a ramp. It will be expensive, but I doubt it will cost what I paid for "free" relocation.
We watched the delivery guy bottom out somebody else's car because he forgot to move the truck's license plate out of the way. Who knows what could have happened to my car. Don't make the same mistake I, and apparently many others, have made.
