South Beach Transport
Customer Reviews
horrible experience With Rene, driver and alleged owner of southbeach transport, moved my car with no problem but when i asked to move my storage unit contents, he said i have to pay upfront, said didnt want to get stuck with a bunch of stuff if i didnt pay when he arrived at my house. paid $4200 with a contract. showed up with a diffferent crew that asked how much the job was, i told them, apparently they were getting much less and rene said he sent them home, said he do it himself in april, scheduled the day, never came, no message nothing, later said turbo problems, then again in june same july the same august after promising 100% he be there in august now will not refund me( actually said he wanted to pay me $500 a month for 8months- yeah right, first payment was supposed to be aug 10th, nothing) now wont answer my texts or calls. have a contract and cancelled checks, sueing him in court currently
Never use this company. I tried to send my car to Florida for an auto auction. They never picked the car up. My history
12-16-2019 quote received
12-18 " We have 3 spots on a truck in your area."
12-18 "Order placed, car pick up on or after 12-26."
12-26" I will give you a 2 hour window."
12-27 "Let me check in with the driver."
12-28 "Heard from driver. They are looking tomorrow. Had a mechanical issue." Sound familiar to anyone?
12-31 "Lets get this out today."
1-2-2020" I am still working on this."
If you call this company for a quote they will answer the call, after that when you need information you get a message they they will call you back in 20 minutes. It wont happen. Needless to say my car never made it to Florida for the auction after I paid $350 entry fee.The auction should have produced a $100,000 check for me.How can you run a business like this. This is not a 5 star company, check with BBB. This company ignores deadlines!!!!
South Beach Transport and Nicole Cooke are a BAD JOKE! She was very attentive initially but when my vehicle was delivered early and I had no way of getting it then she didn't return any communications. Totally got scammed by this company.
Don't use them!!!! I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure that every outlet available knows of their bad business practices.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!
was overcharged for an expected, guaranteed and important delivery date which wasn't close.
South beach took NO responsibility for Starway Logistics, who they dispatched job out to.
Car was delivered a week late and My 18 year old son had to uber to a location to pick it up at 5 am, driver would not come to him even though he was a week late so my sons location changed.
The rudest, most unprofessional encounter with a company I have ever had. I was taken and would like to WARN anyone who is considering using this company to transport a car to do what they told me when i called to complain " you should have read the contract!" Stupid me for trusting what I was told and not reading the fine print!
lesson learned
DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. The transport driver was a day late for pick up and a day early for drop off. They refused to drop off car at AGREED UPON location. Kept my car hostage for DAYS an hour and a half away. South Beach refused to help. Lied and said they were negotiating a resolution with dispatcher FOR DAYS. I finally had to get the police involved.
Transporter broke my drivers side mirror off during transport. After multiple attempts to contact, the driver called saying he didn't break it "the bolt broke". He snapped it off like nothing and said when I asked him the day of delivery that it's in the truck... "you can just screw it back on".
Really an unfortunate experience that if handled appropriately the situation could've been defused easily.
Plain and simple
1. Mirror was not broke when you took
possession of the vehicle.
2. Upon delivery the mirror was not on the
mirror bracket it was laying on the floor
inside of the truck.
3. When asked to fix it or replace it you tried to
lie and not accept responsibility.
South Beach Transport is HORRIBLE!! My car was slated for pick with a confirmed window for 2 weeks. This company guaranteed me I had nothing to worry about and everything was taken care of. They took my credit card info to lock in the guarantee. On the scheduled day of pick up I never heard from this company so I called and spoke with Charles who said he was working on it. Minutes later he sends an email saying in fact there was no dispatchers available to take my car for over a week. I had no plan B! I am now left with no way to get our car from NY to FL and we are relocating within 48 hours on an airplane and this window is too short for another company to pick up the car before we depart. Save yourself a lot of grief, DON'T USE SOUTH BEACH TRANSPORT!!!
If I could give no stars I would. They called me at 8:34 PM and I have a 2-year-old whom I had just gotten to sleep.
When I spoke with Nelson he became argumentative and told me his company was open until 9 PM so he did not see a problem calling me while he was still open. Then told me that there are companies open 24 hours so he doesn't see why calling me at this hour was any problem. Nelson was completely unprofessional and told me that they have an A with the BBB making it sound like I was wrong because of that rating. Well, they have an A- and hopefully my review put them into the B range.
Needless to say, I won't be using their services and there are too many other services to use one that is run by jerks so I would highly recommend using someone else!
I will never transport with these people again. They kept swinging around with the price. When I said the date I wanted, I signed the contract and when it came time for my car to get picked up no one ever showed. Tried calling my agents personnel and work number, never answered. Texted and emailed and finally at like seven at night they finally got back to me. Had to setup another appointment time for my car to get picked up and when it came time to sign that contract they sent me countless other people's contracts with personnel information like phone numbers and address on them. Once they finally got that right and they had my money they ignored me for all the other questions I had about my delivery. Not impressed at all and more of a headache then anything else.
I needed a last minute transport done and I had been signed up with another company and no one showed. I needed to get my car from Maryland to San Francisco. I was flying out the next day in the evening.
I had gotten a few voice messages from Nicole Cooke, so out of sheer panic and desperation, I called her. It was after 6pm so I thought I would get her voicemail. I was totally floored that Nicole answered me. I told her my dilemma and what time my flight was.
She gave me 3 options regular, expedited or enclosed. She recommended the expedited. It was pricey but I needed my car GONE.
She called me around 10pm that she had a truck with space and he could pick up the next morning.
He was on my doorstep 7:30am. The relief to see my car leave on a truck, was immeasurable.
I got to San Francisco. Between the trucker, Mike, his dispatcher, Julie and Nicole I was kept updated on my transport. My car made it without a scratch.
I am happy to recommend Nicole and South Beach Transport
If I could give no stars I would. They called me this morning at 6:58AM-after I answered and told them this was not an acceptable hour to call people they called back again at 7:26am, 7:34am, 7:59am and 11:15am.
When I spoke with Katrina she became argumentative and told me that it's an automated dialing system and that my number is a Minnesota number therefore it was ok to call at those hours. Didn't seem to matter that I requested a quote from California and provided a California zip code. If you're going to be calling early morning from the East Coast you should probably take into account time zone differences and maybe not argue with the person you just woke up and want to do business with.
Needless to say I won't be using their services.
Asked for a quote. I have received TONS of emails after I told them I found a different shipper. My car is already in a different state and still more emails.
Be warned- if you ask for a quote your email will be TRASHED with emails. Borderline harassment full blown poor customer service.
When something drips out of your nether region remember its more HONEST then these two gals Nichole and and Natalie at South Beach
Will give you a line of BS and promises but , it not going to happen.
They supposedly scheduled a driver that never shows and I doubt one was ever scheduled, just seem to be a couple trolls w/ a BS URL looking to get haulers off Craigslist.
They state 24/7 support, I guess that would only be to pay them, have a issue they will be out to lunch or leave a VM or be on hold.
Oh yeah, look at there webpage and feedback, hmmmm seems like they give there own feedback.
For folks who ride, I'm past member if NADA Antique Motorcycle Advisory Board Member,, BMWMOA, GWRRA, and HOG.for many many many, many years. I made the mistake of using this site when I ran across a access issue getting a motor scooter, yeah a motor scooter (aging out), semi could not get at due low clearance.
Just a heads up when it smells bad and its not fish or brown its SBT
Need to ship a bike, use UShip 0000 safer and more honest and better bet if you have no problems w/ a large truck use the Federal Company (25 years plus wit them) . Once more can not implore not to even consider this company( SOUTH BEACH BEND OVER)
Want the real story drop me a line if not remember (read below) :
These folks put the SHIT in SHIPPING and the BEND OVER IN TRUST ME
Stay away,
Again just a heads up .
My quote from SBT was high compared to other companies. After booking with another company, I politely e-mailed "Judy" that I had gone with another company and thanked her for her time.
I get a reply that states, "You went with (company I booked with). You want to know how I know that????"
I am aware that my vehicle gets posted on a website for all transport companies to see. I ignored the e-mail, not needing to feed the ego of "Judy," but I wanted to make sure that people (and SBT) know publicly that that was extremely unnecessary and unprofessional.
This is the worst transportation company out there; please don't use them if you can help it. I called and spoke with Alan Ortega on Jan 24th to set up the transportation of my car from Sacramento Ca to Albuquerque, NM. I let Alan know that my dates were flexible but my car needed to be picked up NO LATER than Saturday February 4th. Alan kept telling me not to worry and that he "GUARNTEES" that my car will be picked up by that day. I went with that and text on Wednesday Feb 1, 2017 asking him when I was going to hear from the driver because I haven't heard anything, he replied back and said don't worry about it he is lining ever y thing up and I should hear something soon.
I said soon when you haven't told me anything he said just one more day and I would hear something and to trust him and that it was 100% guaranteed that he would have a driver by Saturday February 4th. Friday comes around and there is still nothing, I text him again and said when will I hear something by Saturday morning and he was waiting on a few more trucks to respond. I text him Saturday morning at 7:00am asking him what time the driver was coming and he said oh your leaving today, I thought you needed a driver by Monday the 6th. I then called him to tell him that is not what the contract said and he has known all along what the date was. He then started yelling at me saying it's not his fault, he then told me to leave the keys in the car and he would have the driver come pick it up from where I leave it at. Who in their right mind would do that?
I said why would I I dot that so someone could steal my car? He said I never told him that I needed it by Saturday February 4th and continued to yell at me and said my dates were not flexible. I told him they were, he said that he wasn't at his computer and he couldn't tell me when a truck was coming and that he would look it up on Monday. I told him that didn't help me today because I needed to have my car picked up today. This man was so rude and should not be telling customers that he guarantees something when he can't. He left me stranded when I needed to leave Sacramento, Ca by noon. I ended up calling Steve at All Day Transpiration and he had my car picked up by noon. Do not use this company to transport your car, they don't care about the service they provide.
One of the worst companies I've ever worked with - from the sales department to customer service I was consistently disappointed and let down. I was hoping to get my car shipped from the South to the East Coast before my start date at a new job.
I gave 3 weeks advanced notice of shipping my car and was assured by my sales representative, Alan Ortega, that it could be done without issue in that timeline. The company never followed up or called me, I consistently had to call my sales rep for updates or information. I called twice a week for updates to always receive none. Sales continued to assure me it could be done even after the original pick up date had passed. I even extended my pick-up date in order to give the sales representative more opportunities to find a carrier.
One day, five days before the scheduled pick up date Alan called and stated a driver could come in an hour. As this was during business hours and not during the original timeline we discussed, I was not able to meet the driver.
On the week I was hoping my car to be delivered, I called my sales representative back and stated I needed more specifics by the end of the day or I would be going with another carrier. The sales representative proceeded to accuse me of "not understanding how the system worked" and that "another carrier would not be able to get this job done any faster." Instead of fighting to keep my business, he accused me of not being ready on time when he had found a carrier for me previously. I explained that he did not give me enough advanced notice and he corrected me that an hour should have been long enough.
I was only met with excuses that drivers weren't going my route, there was bad weather, or that my timeline was too short to find a driver. If a car shipping company could not find a carrier to ship a car on a three day drive in three weeks, they should not be in business.
After I did not hear from Alan by the end of the day, I called customer service to report the issues I was having. The customer service representative only gave me more excuses that Alan was trying his hardest and weather was the issue. Once again, a representative from the company talked down to me and explained that I simply didn't understand how this business worked. I told the customer service representative to pull my business immediately and I would be going with a competitor.
I called other companies for quotes who all explained that the low number I was being quoted at South Beach was a reason the car was not being picked up and only provided a larger commission for the company.
I signed up with another company same day that found me a driver WITHIN AN HOUR. South Beach Transport's inability to get this job done coupled with the poor customer service I received was simply unacceptable and I would warn anyone against using this company.
