Xtreme Movers
Customer Reviews
Very bad experience all around. Estimate was underestimated and the experience went downhill from there. When you read articles about moving companies, this is one of the ones to watch carefully. Tread carefully in using this company. What seems too good to be true, usually is. I waited a long time to post this because I was worried about possessions not being returned.

Excellent Service! My furniture was packed on Saturday in New York and arrived Monday in Atlanta. Everything arrived in tact. The price quote never changed.

They should change their name to bait n switch movers. Terrible move from philly to Vegas. Prices were 40% more than quoted and they kept saying they would sue me if I didn't do everything they said. Beginning to end, mean people (accept the sales people up front!!).

Absolutely terrible experience. I moved in August 2016, and initially wrote a scathing review. After it posted, I was called and told that if I took it down they would provide me compensation for my terrible experience. I took my review down and they then asked me to sign a form stating that if I accepted the money, I would no longer speak about my experience. It had been initially offered as an apology for my inconvenience, not as amounted a non-disclosure agreement or settlement. I asked them to increase the amount, as I wanted their payment to a) cover the excess costs that they charged me over and above my estimate, and b) be significant enough that maybe they would change their unsavory business practices. If they did not show any intent to improve and treat their customers better, I felt that it was my duty to warn others to avoid this company. A representative then called me and accused me of "threatening to do something bad" to them if they did not pay and refused to alter the amount of money that they would compensate me. I did not accept their offer, but given that I had just moved and was trying to fix the mess that they had created and get my life back in order, I forgot about ever posting the review. Going through old documents, I found my old review and decided to post it to hopefully prevent others from having the same awful experience that I did. Here is a quick summary of my experience:
1) The estimate that I got was only half of what they eventually charged me (despite me sending multiple pictures to ensure that my estimate would be as accurate as possible)
2) Communication was awful- especially as I was trying to determine when my belongings would arrive to my new home. Representatives lied about having called me with updates, and when they did call at times they provided incorrect and conflicting information. They were also rude.
3) They did not honor requests that I had previously made- such as when I wanted my belongings to arrive
4) The movers who delivered my belongings pressured me to sign saying that everything was in good condition and gave me hard time when I indicated that I wanted to open the select boxes and inspect my most expensive items.
5) The movers tried to avoid assembling items such as my bed, which had been disassembled by the moving team initially when I began the move. I had to tell them that I would not permit them to leave unless they had assembled what was needed, and they eventually assembled the them.
The only good thing I can say about the company is that they ONLY broke two of my items. Given their overall incompetence and lack of professionalism, I expected much worse.
I apologize for taking so long to post this, based on other reviews, it looks like the company is still just as unsavory and unprofessional as when I worked with them.

If I could give -ve stars I would have given them. Extreme cheats, extreme fraud and extreme rude. They will say something do something and if in good mood permits deliver. Doris, the dispatcher treats you like she is doing a big favor by delivering our stuff. It took them 14 days to move from NYC to Boston. During time of booking for moving, the charges will be less and during pick up, the charges will rise to double. Also, they work on their own sweet time (not dependent on our time). They will pick up but delivery will be up to dispatchers and you will receive worst treatment from dispatch if you ask them time of delivery (Especially Doris). Book them and your nightmare starts. I had to pay extra to get my delivery and that too after 14 days, so you can imagine how they treat customers. Book at your own risk and wait for bad times.

I know moving companies get a really bad rap from most people and most don't have good reviews, but this is probably the worst experience I've ever had. We moved from NYC to SF - across the country, so decided to work with someone who we trusted. When originally speaking on the phone with them, they told me that they were NOT a brokerage and that they owned all their own trucks as well as storage facility so I could feel safe and not worry about my stuff getting passed along to a second hand random company. Well, that was so not true. Yes a Xtreme movers truck showed up and packed our stuff, and they did a wonderful job - we tipped them well. They took it to storage, which also went fine.
Delivery is when everything went so so wrong. First of all, they promised to show up on Sunday. The truck "broke down". Could barely get a hold of the driver when I needed to. He told me he'd be up and running and show up on Monday. Well the truck "broke down" yet again on his drive to SF. Tuesday rolls around and he promises delivery again. I don't hear from him all day and finally call and he said he will deliver today, no worries. Well I receive a call at 11 PM at night saying he wants to deliver. My building doesn't allow move-ins at freaking midnight! Not sure what building would.... I call him again on Wednesday and he drove back south about 2 hours so says he'll show up at some point that day. Truck breaks down again - NOT JOKING. They get a new truck and show up at about 7 PM. These movers are NOT affiliated with Xtreme Moving whatsoever - they are brokers delivering my stuff. They proceed to deliver the most damaged, water logged boxes with shit falling out everywhere. I can't believe more stuff wasn't damaged or ruined. They also proceed to deliver boxes that aren't mine - multiple ones. Luckily I said something and had them take those boxes away, but I bet the box owners will never see their goods again. They also lost a box full of valuables as well as a rug.... The list is never ending. OH, and they charged us an extra $1500 over the quoted price and wouldn't deliver until I PAYED IN CASH!!!!!!!!
This is getting long so I'll cut it short, but we filed a claim for all the damage and we just heard back last week. $50 refunded for all of that. FIFTY DOLLARS. Absolutely insanity. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! Trust me, spend the $ on a reputable one - it's worth the cost.

This company is the worst company that I have ever dealt with. They changed the contract without my knowledge. They dropped my things off half way to where they were going. I was lied to so many times. When I would catch one person in a lie they would transfer me to another and say then fired them. Promise to fix it and then not do anything about it. I had to hire someone else to move my things to Alaska at additional cost! when we got are things we found that there were twice as may boxes as they needed, being that they packed them half full and filled the rest with paper. Oh there was more square footage so we had to increase the cost. This company is stealing money from people left at right! Don't use them for your on sake!

Complete scam. Used them for my move from MD to CA back in December. They give binding estimates to which they pressure you into signing a new one after all your stuff is loaded on the truck. Get ready to pay double what you were told. I honestly don't know how they got an A+ rating with the BBB.
Originally got an estimate from a local competitor who did an IN-HOME estimate. Xtreme Movers decided they would match their estimate and provide better service. After the movers wrapped everything and loaded it onto the truck they raised the price by almost double what was on the binding estimate. I spoke to a supervisor on the phone, to which they pressured me into paying about $2k over what I was originally estimated. It went to $3.5k to about $5.5k. My stuff is already loaded so they threatened to unload part of my items, which is basically coercion into giving in to what they want. I had no choice but to sign their contract.
As far as my items go. They chipped off one of the corners of my TV stand, and also break a bunch of mugs and tea sets I owned which were passed down from generations. I have yet to open all the boxes but I'll update as I sort through them all.
FMCSA states that you are not required to pay anything more than what the amount is on your binding estimate (which I had), unless there are additional services (long carry, stairs) which there was none. The only time they are allowed to change the binding estimate is before goods are loaded on the truck.
My items are clearly wrapped, ready to go, and loaded onto the truck, when they pressured me into signing a new estimate.
EDIT:
This review was actually posted in January. 24 hours after I posted my review, Xtreme Movers contacted me to work out a deal since I was unhappy with the way they dealt with things. In return, they promised to refund half of the excess charges they made. Here's the kicker. They wanted me to remove my review. Of course not thinking about it too well, I agreed since all was being resolved anyways.
I was sent a "claim settlement form" to fill out and would be provided with a refund within a few weeks. I sent those documents January 31. I gave them the benefit of the doubt that maybe these things take some time to get processed but it has been THREE MONTHS!!!! I've emailed them back multiple times and got a response only twice saying they will "update me with the status soon". Yet nothing has happened.
TL:DR
Xtreme Movers scams people. They'll trick you into taking down bad reviews in exchange for money. They'll give you the run around and basically never contact you back. Don't trust them.

I was looking for a reputable company for moving and saw reviews from multiple review sites so I decided to talk to Xtreme Movers. The person who I spoke to was very approachable and informative. They sent me to a governmental website and informed me on the ins and outs and the dos and don'ts of moving which was great. I had a few prices from companies that sounded really nice and great, but when I looked them up on this governmental website, they had a lot of complaints. Telling me someone is bad doesn't really mean anything, but when I have a resource like that with someone advising me where toWorked with Daniel from Xtreme Movers last month on my move from Massachusetts to Florida. I was very nervous after hearing stories of damaged items and of sudden price increases at the time of the move from friends who had dealt with other companies. My other main concern was that my move in date to my Florida home was up in the air. I have just moved in finally, and couldn't be happier. Xtreme stored my items for me in Florida until they could be moved in. Their estimate was spot on and everything arrived in the same condition in which it left. Josh was extremely professional and explained everything clearly. I would highly recommend Xtreme!!!!!!!!!!

- read the contract
- if you have any problems, call Xtreme Movers right away
- pack your own stuff to maximize protection
Overall, I think this company did a fantastic job with my move from Boston to San Francisco. They gave me a fair, accurate estimate that only went up at pick up because I underestimated how much stuff we had. My original estimate was ~$3600, and ended up being ~$4200. If you are accurate with how much you have to move and the layout of your locations, the estimate they give you will be good. The 4 guys who came to pick up were done in 2 hours (one bedroom apartment fully furnished). They came right when they said they would and they were very polite. Delivery was not so great- the driver and his partner actually made it a nightmare for me. I won't go into details since the delivery driver single-handedly gave me a hard time, which I don't expect will be an issue for anyone else in the future. However, I called Xtreme Movers to voice my concerns, and they addressed all of the issues I had right away. I have some minor damages as a result of the delivery team, but Nicole (I think is her name?) with Xtreme Movers was very accommodating for me. They want to make it a good experience for you, so let them help if you need it! I wish I had called sooner.
Some things to keep in mind:
- the contract says your things will be delivered within 21 days from your first available receiving date. It's unlikely it will take that long if you're on a popular route or during a busy season, but if you NEED your stuff before then, this may be an issue for you. For me, it was delivered one week after my first available date, 18 days total after it was picked up in Boston.
- If you're unhappy about a charge or timeline, check the contract. The company will be understanding of your troubles, but will refer to the contract. Don't expect them to comp your $5000 move because a mirror was broken, and do expect to pay the long carry fee. Overall, just read the contract.
- To fit as many orders as possible in the same truck, they will stack floor to ceiling. That means boxes that aren't full will be crushed and may break. Most of the breakable things I had survived, but the boxes looked awful. I'd recommend packing everything yourself so you can minimize deadspace that will cause boxes to break.
- Remember that moving things long distances is rough, so there will likely be bumps and scrapes on the corners of things. I have a few on the corners of my couches and tables, but nothing major to me. If that is a concern for you, I recommend adding your own protection in addition to their wrapping. They offer complimentary $0.60/lb insurance for damages, but you're better off taking extra steps to protect your stuff in the first place. For couches and mattresses, I recommend buying covers to protect from liquid and dust.

Moved cross country and I had multiple issues with these folks. First they canceled my original move date stating that they had two drivers to make the trip and they would be there before I would get to my destination to receive the delivery . Then they left late and showed up 3 days past the date they promised. Although when you call them on it they state a 12 to 14 day window.
Got our stuff and had damages. Major scratches on Executive desk, wet mattresses, missing portable BBQ grill, wet boxes and as far as we can tell two boxes are still missing. I'm glad its over and definitely will not even think about using them again.
I will stuff a U-Haul and drive it myself before I hand them anything again. I gave them two stars because the majority of our belongings made it. Marsha was nice but once she had our money she would not talk to me live again. It was mostly me leaving her messages. Oh and of course I paid almost 2k above the LOOOOOOOSE estimate. You might as well just pick a random number because it will always come out higher in the end. All in all I guess it could have been worse. They did offer to pay for having the mattress cleaned, but since it was a memory foam mattress we cleaned it ourselves and its fine now.
Good luck to all that choose Xtreme Movers!

I have always been a do-it yourself kind of person but this time around I decided to get some professional help moving my office since we were tide on time. Xtreme Movers were my heroes during the move. They were extremely professional and moved my office in a couple of hours and my office was up and running the very next day.
I would recommend them to anyone.
Thanks again Xtreme Movers

Finally a company that gets it right!!! Excellent service, efficient customer service and great staff. I coordinated the move for my grandmother from a nursing home in NY to the sunshine state of Florida to live closer to me so she could be closer to the family and we could visit her more often. Moving is stressful and something I was considering doing myself so I could avoid any of the horror stories I've heard from companies out there, but ran into scheduling issues cause of work and needed to get her down as quick as possible. I decided to take the risk and call around for top movers in the metropolitan area and ran into several but only one put me at ease. I contacted my rep Marsha who was knowledgeable and gave me the in and outs of what to expect for the move which I appreciated cause I mentioned numerous times to her that I didn't want any surprises. She made sure to over-estimate my move which made sense so I could avoid extra charges. The day of the move, Manny who was the driver I guess, let me know that he would take good care of me and grandma since I flew out to make sure everything was smooth, he made sure everything was done with excellence and extra care and I could tell by the way they handled the furniture items, like if it was there mothers belongings, I knew then that things would be good. I ended up paying less cause the estimate was well over-estimated to begin with which was even better news. The l, lady in dispatch I believe Nicole was her name, kept me posted throughout the whole process to which made it seamless. Delivery was easy, swift and with no surprises as well. Would Highly Highly recommend Xtreme Movers for all your moving needs, you will not be disappointed. If you want a stress-free move with honesty from initial contact to finish and a great staff, Xtreme Movers is your company!!!!

I would give the negative stars if I could. This has been the worst experience ever. It started with their representative on the phone that took all the information on what items would be moved. I told them I was moving from PA to CA and would at the new apt in California on 7/1. I completely understood that the cost was an estimate and could change slightly. The rep said that I would be dealing with her for all issues or concerns. That is not true. If you call them don't believe anything they say. I had told them that I would have 2 TV's to be shipped. The movers that arrived at my house for pick were nice and professional. However, this is where everything started to go badly. As they were taking things out to the truck, I was informed that my TV's would cost an extra $75 in case they break. I had asked why was that not included in the estimate because I had told them I had 2 TV's. He did not have an answer. They loaded the truck and I finished the paperwork with the foreman. They require a customer satisfaction survey before your items are delivered. They don't give you a survey after the items are delivered. Of course the items took up more space and it cost slightly more. I was asked if an 18 wheeler truck would fit where I am moving. I said I have no idea because I picked the apartment on line and had not been there before. The foreman said that if an 18 wheeler can't fit it would be an additional $200-$250 charge. I told him that I can take possession a day earlier than 7/1. It was at this point I was informed that delivery can take up to 7-10 days after the date requested. This was NEVER communicated to me by the rep on the phone. The option of having my belongings unloaded would cost me additional money and I didn't have the time to look for another mover nor did I have that kind of extra money. I let them take my belongings. I waited to find out when my items would be delivered. I reached out to the rep that said she would help and be available throughout this process. She did not respond. I sent a second email requesting an ETA on my belongings. I then received an email from another person who gave me the truck driver's cell number and told me to call the driver. I called the driver and was told they didn't have an ETA but would call me 24 hours before they deliver. I had no idea when my items would be shipped. 7/1 passed and I received a call from the driver on Sunday night saying they would be there tomorrow and I needed cash in hand before they would unload. I asked what happen to 24 hours notice. He then asked if an 18 wheeler can fit. I said no it can't. He then told me he can't deliver tomorrow because they will need an U-Haul truck and they are already closed. He then informed me that the cost for a U-Haul would be an additional $300 not the $200-$250. I asked if they aren't delivering on Monday then when will they be delivering. He said he didn't know and would be back in touch. I received a call on 7/3 and they said they would be there tomorrow (7/4) and the cost is $300 more than the remaining balance. I asked what time they would be delivering and they said between 11a-4p. I sat around waiting all day. I called the driver at 4pm and was told they are still coming and should be there in about 1-1.5 hours but would call me before they show up. They arrived around 6:30pm and not in a U-Haul. Not sure what cost $300 if they didn't get a U-Haul. They unloaded everything. My dresser was broken, my headboard had a stain in the wood, a crystal serving tray was shattered, a box of clothing was crushed (not sure if I am missing clothes), my floor speaker was damaged and my treadmill is not working. I will never use this company again. I am now filing a claim for my damaged items. the actual cost was a lot higher than the estimate. NEVER AGAIN!

Just want to update. We have been contacted several times by Xtreme offering to pay us for overcharging and upcharging us for unnecessary items during our move, and in return, we would have to take down our reviews, to which we said no. They did pay a third party to take down my husbands review. Please do not trust this company. You should never rely on a company who pays off their disgruntled customers to save face on their reputation.

Xtreme Movers made sure that my relocation was hassle-free! The movers were kind and handled my items with care, making sure not to damage anything in the process. We have just moved from New York to North Carolina. Moving is always a stressful process, but knowing that I had movers I could trust made it so much easier. Even their prices were a steal! The workers truly care about your experience and will work with you to find the best deal around. There was never a time that I felt communication was ever an issue. Xtreme Movers deliver to anywhere in the country, so I will definitely recommend them to friends, relatives, and of course, fellow yelpers!
Finally Here!

Great moving company. Fast and on time. Would recommend and use again. Not only was the moving team on time but extremely helpful. The team also took great care with our fragile items. Highly recommenced to friends and family.

This will be a long review. Moving across country is never easy. I called Marsha , she was extremely nice and gave me a fair quote and roughly estimated. Everything went smoothly and she took care of insurance and properly with the super. I loved her and her service.
Being a New Yorker and having lived there for 7 years I naturally accumulated many things. My stuff is obv over 400 cubic they quoted me. At the end my quote was a lot a lot higher but it is my fault. The mover who came to pick up my things were nice and friendly. Everything was amazing there but... the one star off is for the delivery company they chose for Seattle.
The truck driver called me 24 hr ahead and told me it was going to be next day. Then someone missed their delivery despite taking a day off work, we had to do next day which is fine. We had to pay for shuttle because 52 inch delivery truck couldn't fit, I personally don't know any place that fit truck that big but it is on the fine print of contract. My fault I guess, we paid few 100s more now my moving cost is almost 5k from 3.2 where we started. That is not the part annoyed me. The part that annoyed me was the truck driver they used he never updated me through out the day. I had to call him multiple times to know when I was suppose to get delivered. The worst part is the extras 100feet charge because our place is a storage room. I don't mind loading the box my self. We don't have furniture just boxes. He told me I can't do it and I have to pay 75 . I demanded that I want to unload my self he just had to put it at the lobby loading zone which is not even 10 feet away lol !! He decided to argue my physical capability to move the boxes when.my husband was here. My husband didn't want to start a fight so we gave the 75 bucks. I was gona tip the guy for 300 for all of them , so he would have gotten it anyways. I felt disrespected since I have asked him nicely few times explaining I have done this in New York before and I have the whole day off. I liked extreme mover just not the specific delivery guy.
I will chose them to move again if I have to buy most likely I will
Never want to move across country again :( I will update on the things later to see if they are damaged. They warp things nicely. Again I understand it is going to involve contractors and etc for a move across North America. One star off for their local delivery contractor not the people based in New York. The other two workers were friendly just that one guy truck driver
Since then the two other guys apologized for him and later that day he apologized personally. I think he was having a bad day since the guy before me missed his and it screwed up the driver schedule but you can't put that on your customer, who is equally frustrated with the delay and wiring all day. I am usually really nice to people and give decent tips. I gave one star back since the delivery was good. Also Marsha has reached out me to check with the Mangment :) after thanking me for the review. Once again this happens all the time with contractor I don't personally blame movers.

I had 3 bedrooms fulls of furniture that I was giving my girlfriend in CT. I live in Brooklyn. One of my friends recommended Xtreme movers and I couldn't have been happier. I like most people were worried about them dinging up my wooden furnitures but they wrapped everything professionally and took their time while still moving at a pace to get the job done in a timely manner. I was actually somewhat surprised in how fast everything was out the door. My girlfriend said they took the time to find out where everything belonged and she didnt have to move a thing once they were placed in the house. Very professional and their prices are fare.

Do yourself a favor and don't use this company to move your belongings. They'll quote you a great price and be very accommodating so they'll make the sale. After they receive your deposit, the dream will become a nightmare.
Here's a list of my complaints:
1. I paid more than I was quoted because the movers who packed my belongings inefficiently filled the boxes.
2. My belongings were packed haphazardly as many costly items (speakers, couch, dressers, bikes) were damaged. They also packed perishable food items which rotted.
3. The drop-off driver hired homeless people off the street (bare-foot, no less) to help him move the items in.
4. One box filled with costly electronics did not make it and was never found.
5. Upholstered items like my couch reeked like sweaty body odor.
6. An Extreme Movers representative called me an "asshole" when I refused to sign for the damage/missing belongings.
7. An Extreme Movers representative warned me not to write negative reviews. If I did I was told I would not be compensated for the damaged/missing items.
8. Compensation for all of the damage/missing items was just over $100!

I needed help moving from Newark to Paramus. I didn't have anyone to help me, but thank goodness that I found this efficient moving company. They came to my house and they worked very well together to get all my stuff out of my old house. I didn't even break a sweat because they were happy to do the work for me. I recommend this company because they deliver everywhere in country.

They packed our belongings on August 14th in NJ and was supposed to receive it in Florida on the 21st. Today is the 24th and still have not received it. Now every time I try to contact them they are extremely rude and nasty about me not being reasonable about the time frame when they had over a week to get it here. As a 'courtesy' they can give me the number to the truck driver and I can find out when he's coming. He'll try to be here Friday or Saturday which will be 6 days after expected delivery. In the meantime I had to shop for towels, linens etc to have until the truck arrives.
In addition, the estimate they gave us over the phone was doubled when they showed up.
There is zero customer service here! Any conversation I've tried to have with them to know when my belongings are arriving have ended up with them attacking me that I'm putting their drivers in danger etc. , instead of them giving me a normal response which would be an exact date! If you go with this company you will only get frustration!
Still waiting...
Update: just spoke with the driver and he can be here on Friday ( 5 days after it was supposed have been here and 12 days after it left NJ) but he needs me to find out if his 75 ft truck will fit on my block. If it can't, then I'll have to pay the fees to have all my belongings transferred to a regular sized truck. How am I supposed to know? This should not be the responsibility of the customer. This is all my headache now and being that he's an outside contractor and doesn't work directly for extreme movers, he nor extreme movers cares. There is zero customer service! They make it my problem to figure out how to get my belongings. Extreme movers is inexperienced and does not know how to deal with long distance moves! I wish I hired a different moving company.
Update: The truck finally arrived Sunday August 28th at 9 pm. Being that they were nowhere near done at close to 2 am ( there was only one other worker besides the driver) they stopped and continued the next morning, Monday. I'm beyond relieved that this saga is behind me. Good riddance!

After I posted, I was contacted by Xtreme Movers and asked to remove my post and in return they'd be willing to negotiate. I want a resolution but not at the cost of allowing this experience to happen to others! So...I am leaving my post! However, IF Xtreme Movers makes a genuine effort to rectify this situation I will update my post to reflect the new circumstances. IF Xtreme Movers doesn't make a genuine attempt I will proceed with my BBB complaint and etc. They should correct this situation because it's the right thing to do, it's an act of good customer service NOT to keep up a facade of high Yelp ratings! I deserve to be compensated because my personal possessions that I labored for were so poorly mistreated and the service I received was beyond subpar NOT in exchange for the removal of my review. If my honesty causes Xtreme Movers to not address this matter...I'll pay that price; after all, they've already taken thousands of dollars from me with little to no regard.

i received a call back saying the driver was suspended until further review. since everything was great until delivery they wanted me to change my review to exclude the actions of the driver. supposedly he was paid to hire local helpers on this end and didnt. i told them the driver was part of their company and my review reflects that. they almost had me convinced to alter the review in a more positive note but i finally decided that people need to know the truth. i did not accept the $150 they offered that they insisted was not a bribe. they were also upset that i didnt call them the next day before posting the review. why? at that point it was over.

I selected this movers company after lots of research. they talked very nicely and friendly. They give me full plan and was very confident. even I pay them in advance. before two days they simply refund my amount without any information. when I contacted them they told that their truck broken. I doubt this justification. they did not even try to help me with alternate option.
Before that I called them 2-3 times every time they are committing that they will on track. I was prepared based on their commitment. I was upside down when they cancel the move. Finally I got someone after lots of talking and paying more money.
I never see this kind of business in my life.
I really appreciacite the way they follow-up. they called me and explain the situration. It looks like they had real problem. I was very much frustated initially but after disciussion with owner I am fine. if they were worng they would have not called me.

This company moved my entire house from New Jersey to Tennessee with no problem...everything was in perfect condition and they made everything super easy! Customer service was amazing and Doris dispatched the whole thing with no problem and the communication between her and I was the easiest thing I have ever experienced. My company is moving more people and I'm definitely recommending Xtreme to everyone. My order #3181255

I was initially nervous to hire this company due to some of the yelp reviews, but their flat rate was something I couldn't pass up. This was my first move, and the movers were quick to answer any question I had. They were quick and knowledgeable. The movie itself was pretty smooth, and my items were all intact when I unpacked.

I have seen Xtreme movers in my building, a high rise in Brooklyn, a few times and noticed they professionally wrap furniture with blankets and plastic wrapping so I chose them for my long distance move. I called 2 weeks before and had telephone estimate. As moving day arrived and having a few extra boxes, the actual price was $500 above the estimate, not double as some of the other reviews mentioned. The new price was still less than Roadway's estimate which was $1k higher so no worries.
My possessions were picked up on 6/24 by Xtreme, I listed my first available day to accept my items as 6/27 on the contract as I flew over to my new home. The foreman stated it usually takes 5 days to ship to my destination and to expect a call in a few days before my items will ship out however the contract states they have 7-14 days from 6/27 to deliver (not 6/24 the day of pickup) which results in a delivery date between 7/4-7/11.
Update: Delivery was made on 7/5 by Oleg. He drove from NY to Houston, I was the 7th drop off, my move was not outsourced to another company. Everything arrived in one piece without any damage. 100% satisfied with Xtreme movers.

Xtreme disappointment. Moving can be stressful. This company enhanced the stress ten fold. There were lost items, longer than expected delivery times and highly miscalculated costs. Never again.
Our little family trusted this company to move our home and memories. Thumbs down.

Very good business! Always on time, always helpful, and have helped me make multiple trips! I would recommend them to anyone!

This is a very professional company. Right from the first phone call, I felt like I was in good hands. When they came out to move me, they did a great job. Everything was handled with great care and I was left with no doubts about having picked the right people for the job. When I arrived at my new destination, everything was delivered on time and nothing was broken. Ok, it should go without saying that nothing was broken but honestly, I've been through this before with other movers and arriving with everything intact is just not something I've gotten used to. So when I found that Xtreme Movers had failed to break a single item, I was amazed. A huge thank you to all the people at Xtreme Movers!

Moving is stressful and you go thru anxiety and doubts. I chose Xtreme Movers after 4 estimates based on their great customer service, answering all my questions and following up with me. Marsha helped immensely thru the estimate and was really patient and accommodating in answering everything I posed to her.
The move went fast and efficient. Everything was packed and loaded in 1 day just like what was promised and it was a very large move, long distance and was a quick delivery. The moving crew was really good at packing and loading as well as the delivery. And Xtreme followed up at the end of the move to make sure everything worked out well. They worked with me and the customer service is what set it apart from the other companies that gave me quotes.
Thanks Xtreme!

Jake in the Miami office was a real pleasure to work with. He knew the business well and guided me through the whole process, leaving no stone unturned. Moving is a daunting exercise, that requires great customer service from employees representing great movers. Will consider again and strongly recommend to anyone moving, like me, from NJ to FL.

I moved from NJ to CA right before Christmas. I called three companies - 2 gave me estimates over the phone and 1 came out to do an actual walkthrough. The walkthrough and Extreme Movers gave me the same estimate, the third company (a major well-known moving company) gave me a price double what the others gave me. Similar to others' experiences, I ended up paying double the cost of the estimate. I don't think this is unique to Extreme Movers and really, the lesson learned is that you will pay the same no matter who you go with. The movers were great, arrived on time - my stuff arrived in CA 3 days earlier than their earliest estimate. Nothing was broken and they put everything together quite well. I would go with them again, knowing that the estimate they gave me was wrong because I think this is system-wide. I gave them 3 stars because of the wrong estimate (after I must have asked 3-5 times to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't underestimate!!!) and the fact that they got there so early that it was hard to get the cash to them at the other end.

Update again 8/18/16: I'm not some other company, Steve. Check my other reviews or ask your "internet team that tracks people down". I'm a customer you and your company wronged scammed.
I tried to speak to you during the move, at which time you denied me the chance. Your rep said "Steve does not speak to customers".
Change your policies. Stop making people sign a "NDA settlements" as a discount after up-charging them on the day of the move. Stop promising prices you cannot keep. Make an honest company.
Update: They have tried many times now to get me to take down this review and also contacted Yelp to review my whole review. Yelp HQ did take down one of the photos I posted of a fellow reviewers comments to me.
I've had three customers write to me privately sharing similar experiences of my own. They are afraid to write publicly about this company because they all had to sign "settlement" statements which is basically a non disclosure agreement in order to get a marginal discount on their newly quoted double or triple price quote. This is a malicious company.
Original Review:
Do not use this moving company. Spend more money for the reputable movers. You will end up paying more than they quote with Xtreme Movers - with loads of stress and missed estimates.
Many of the reviews here are fake. The first review from Doris is totally fake. She works for the company and is the one we spoke to after dealing with the sales woman. I believe she's the foreman.
Pros:
Sales is well done with high promises and low estimates.
Our goods were transferred without things being stolen.
Cons:
Don't believe the price. It's too good to be true. I could go on forever, but the scam runs like this:
They give you an estimate from the sales side, show up on moving day and the movers say that there are too many boxes, everything is too big and that it needs 2x the amount that was quoted. (We were quoted at half the truck in square-feet, but when the movers showed up they said it required the full truck)
Maybe that's right? And we did have big furniture?
Nope.
When the items were actually delivered, after missing their delivery estimate by 10 days (unreal) they ended up contracting out the actual delivery part to local movers. The local movers were kind and frank. When delivered they said all of our goods took about 600 Sq foot. We were charged by Xtreme Movers for 1200 sq ft.
There's so much more I ended up paying for with this company. I flew out to receive the furniture... They ended up missing the delivery weekend by over a week. They say once the delivery is made, that I would need to speak to the driver, but the driver was totally impossible to talk to. He would hang up the phone, reject phone calls, and give impossible delivery dates. He ended up up charging me an extra $500 to transfer the goods to a local company.
All around bad company.. The front of house sales department may make you think otherwise. Dishonest people. Take your business elsewhere.
@Steve:
I got your message and chose not to respond. When I was speaking to your office after your company had all my stuff, I asked to speak to he owner (named Steve), but the lady on the phone said, "no Steve does not speak to the customers".
It was an unbelievably bad experience, Steve. I don't have enough characters to list all the problems in this review. And it was definitely your company. I'm leaving the review up in hopes that you change your policies.

This company will HOUND you to death- calling every few days with high pressure sales tactics. STAY AWAY.

My boyfriend recently took a job in Seattle and needed to move out of our Brooklyn apartment earlier this month. A colleague of mine who's relocated a bunch of times recommended a few movers that deliver across the country and Xtreme Movers was one of them. I was hesitant to go with them based on some of the poorer reviews, but my boyfriend and I were pleasantly surprised by how straightforward the experience was. We had a bit of wiggle room re: budget, as my boyfriend's company was paying some of the relocation fees, which was good. We packed all of our own belongings, but ordered a ton of packing supplies from Xtreme Movers to simplify things. Nothing we had was super precious, but our furniture was treated with care and arrived all in one piece and in a timely manner! The movers were friendly enough, but my boyfriend and I really appreciated the efficiency and professionalism at a time that was pretty stressful for the both of us. Definitely look into them if you're prepping for a cross country move!
